While the room we stayed in (Alsea) was large, well lit, and charming, we were without hot water for the entire stay. When we reached out to Vacasa for help they first asked us to try the breaker box, or relight the water heater but couldn't tell me where either of them were, thereby asking me to wander around and through this motel - peeking in closets and rooms - to find them. When I refused they said they would contact a local person for assistance. No one ever came. No one contacted us. I even reached out to corporate and no one came. No one contacted us. So despite a pretty room and clean linens they get 2 stars because hot water is kind of a necessity in a hotel. Further, they didn't offer a discount for their failure to provide the hot water during our 5 night stay. Other things to know; The images don't show that highway 101 runs between this building and the beach. Nor do they show that the balconies with the rooms are shared and not private. The coffee pot is a Kuerig and they only provide 4 pods. Bring your own. There are two mugs, two metal cups, two glass cups, and a handful of silverware, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. The only place to wash anything is in the bathroom. The view is stunning and you can hear the ocean from your room if you leave the door cracked. I really wish I could have given a better review but the lack of local support for this listing means any problems you have are yours to deal with and frankly, that is not what I am paying for. EDIT: The management company responded after my review and offered a partial refund per day for the lack of the hot water. It was a fair offer and the decent thing to do. So I'm increasing the review to three stars because they did respond and try to make things right. However, I still think it's important for guests to know there isn't anyone local to manage these issues quickly if they arise. read more

This was our second time staying here. The first time was pretty good but we won't go back. We stayed in "Perpetua" unit this time. It smelled like DOGS. First thing is the smell then the obvious visuals come into focus. Floors have NEVER been refurbished in over 4 years that I can tell the floors looked new. "DOG FRIENDLY" to me means go someplace else. Rug at front door chewed, couch must be the dog-bed because it STUNK! Walls are hideous. Water marks running above the sliding glass doors, bathroom water damage above/behind the toilet and behind the sink faucet. Wall scuffs from rocking chair and stupid living room end tables substituting for bedside tables (covered w/ white dog fur...as well as under the bed w/ debris not well vacuumed before we arrived). CAKED dust coming from the ac/heat unit & bathroom ceiling fan. Old room heaters (bathroom and main room) are rusty and really unappealing. Bed- too soft!!! No bed skirt and the sheets were stained w/ brown marks (I was pretty disgusted and wished I had my silk sleeping bag), ugly old bed linens....please pretend like your rentals are an investment that people invest in (like me) because at over 150 a night (OFF SEASON) people will expect very nice accommodations...not just a lovely view and convenient location in town. Coffee tables are not side tables- get a decent size table. TV wands are not properly marked and the mute button doesn't work! CLEAN them....they were really nasty dirty. Move the couch to the opposite side of the room, move the tv screen to the opposite wall so that you can actually get a better view from bed if one is wanting to watch before bed. The Kerig coffee machine....GROSS! Who uses those? Not us. All we wanted was a hot pot at the very least to brew QUALITY coffee without the dangers of mold in the coffee maker which Kerigs are INFAMOUS for harboring! We will not use them. This was my birthday weekend. I'm super disappointed we spent it in such a gross place!!! I will MAKE SURE our next visit will be better investigated before making a overnight reservation someplace. read more

I only stayed here for one night, but had such a great experience! The Ocean Cove Inn sits on the East side of the highway and has a pretty decent view of the ocean from most if not all the rooms. It is walking distance from several restaurants, bars, and shops. It also is walking distance from Yachats State Park where you have access to get down to the beach. The rooms are pretty small, but that has never been something to bother me. The room we stayed in was equipped with all the essentials and more: Bed, Bathroom, Television, Microwave, Mini Fridge, AND a free bottle of wine! (The wine was not a high quality wine... but it was free, so whatever) Right out in front of our room there was a huge patio with tables and chairs. The weather was not nice enough for us to partake in this patio, but I'm dying to get back out there in the summer. It would be great to enjoy a few glasses of wine or some cocktails while taking in the view. This place is perfect if you want a place where you can relax, get in some beach time, and then maybe have a few drinks with the locals at the pub across the street and stumble back to your room. Please note that in warm summer months this place gets toasty - full sun all afternoon. No fans or ac. I booked through air bnb and did call Vacasa to ask for a fan. To their credit, I did get a call back, but no timely availability for anyone to provide a fan (if they had one, phone person didn't know as this is a self check-in place, no manager on site at the inn). Other impressions: more run down than pictures elude to and our room was not clean. Location again, is fantastic, you can walk easily to water or restaurants or the town brewery which is what earned two stars. read more

This place is a dump. The bed is shot. The furniture is dilapidated. The blinds facing the road don't close and so they put up a transparent old curtain thing. Don't expect to sleep in. We checked in this past Friday and that night my daughter found a "Rollie pollie" crawling in the room. After investigation, I found a small colony of small beetle looking bugs crawling underneath the front door mat and in/out of the floor boards. I am not a squeamish person, but this was pretty alarming and we reached out to Vacasa. Back and forth texts through the next day and night- "a local team will contact you" was said to us at least 5 times. Phone calls, Airbnb and Vacasa messages, and texts... and no response. We chose to stay because it was Mother's Day Weekend , the coast was packed, and we couldn't afford to rent a different place. Tonight, 4 days after I connected management with my concern and 2 days after leaving the place- I receive a message that "the local team did not see any bugs, especially from the photos you provided".... I have video of the situation, though I can't upload it here. The view is great, but the fact that we can't even get a call back regarding multiples bugs crawling in and out of the eaten up floor boards, it's is disappointing that we originally spent money here. Seven hours of phone calls on a Sunday and a Tuesday between Vacasa and Agoda, the booking agency, two very credible credit cards with large availability on them, and clueless customer service people giving us the run around between both companies, our reservation was cancelled by Agoda and now expect us to pay a cancellation fee. What a GREAT place in the lovely Yachats!!! We arrived via our bikes in the pouring rain. We were given the opportunity to dry our gear out in the Inn's dryers - yeah!!! Ironically, the whole town of Yachats lost their electricity, which made for an interesting evening figuring out to eat dinner. Our hosts provided flashlights before it got dark. Lights did come back on after a couple of hours. The room we stayed in was HUGE. Like a small studio - queen sized bed, couch, couple of chairs, TV, frig, microwave, coffee maker, wine glasses, chocolates. Nice bathroom with hot water to soak in the tub and big fluffy towels to wrap up in. Given we were only passing through, I was sorry we weren't staying a couple days to enjoy the area. read more

Claudia and Charlie, the managers of the Ocean Cove Inn, make the place. Wonderful hosts. Wonderful room and view. There's a piece of plastic underneath the mattress cover, that kept my wife and I sliding around the first night, but after laying the extra provided blanket underneath, the second night was very restful, especially with the sliding entry doors slightly cracked to enjoy the sound of the waves. There's a TV, fridge, microwave, wine glasses and corkscrew, all plates and silverware needed, and VERY hospitable, friendly, host and hostess. I'll stay there again, no question. read more

You would never think that Ocean Cove Inn would make for a nice stay in Yachats from the outside appearance alone, but the layout of the rooms and the sliding door opening to shared porch space really creates a character and feel that compliments the coastal town ambience perfectly. I booked two nights with my friend staying next door and we were both very pleased. Ocean Cove is perfectly located near great eateries, a pub, and the Yachats brewery, and the ocean is literally a minute walk from the Inn. The porch allows you to bring back a few beers or wine and enjoy drinking while relaxing on the porch and watching the waves and seagull flock that dominates the area of beach down below (don't worry they don't fly near the Inn). Another great aspect of Ocean Cove is that there is no check-in process. You are emailed the code for a lock box and go straight into your room upon arrival. A few things to note: no turn-down service and the wifi is terrible if functional at all. However, this is by no means a deal breaker (as you can see by the 5 star review), and it is actually nice to be off the grid and away from work while staying here in Yachats. To further validate this review, we had lovely neighbors from Michigan who stay here every year. They have also booked higher priced lodging within Yachats, and swore that hands down, Ocean Cove is the Inn of choice. I agree, as Ocean Cove provides a quaintness that is becoming harder to find with more modern Inns and hotels. Already excited thinking about my next stay here. read more

This place was a little gem along the Oregon coast. It was within walking distance of the beach and had a view of the ocean. The location was great, only a short walk to the store and there were many places to eat within a very short stroll. The room was CLEAN, well decorated, and comfortable. The beds however, were not comfortable but I can look past that. The sound issue through the walls was ridiculous. We could hear our neighbors having a normal tone conversation and they could obviously hear us too. Which made it really difficult to enjoy a weekend away when our neighbors were upset with us for just talking in our room. It's hard to justify spending the $ for a great hotel when we end up feeling like little kids at a sleep over getting yelled at for talking past bedtime. We would be back and recommend it widely if that weren't an issue. Maybe bring ear plugs? read more

We stayed in the Perpetua room for a weekend. The room was nice and cozy and everything was fresh and clean. The bed is too firm for my taste, but I like a soft pillow top bed. If you like a VERY firm bed though, this may not be an issue for you. While trying to sleep, I noticed the mini fridge would buzz off and on and I was mildly annoyed, but it wasn't so bad that it kept me up all night. My only other small wish, since we enjoy watching TV in bed, was that the TV stretched out a little further from the wall so we could both see the whole thing without scrunching to one side of the bed. We stayed at the Ocean Cove Inn the weekend before Thanksgiving and found this little Inn to be a very pleasant place to stay the night. We were the first ones to roll into this inn on a Sunday and we go the best room in the inn (best view, etc). We were given a complementary bottle of wine and a cozy bed to snuggle up in. + Ocean Cove has been our go-to inn for many years now. We escape to Yachats for a weekend every 3 months. You have to see the rooms to really appreciate the attention to detail and design. It's a more upscale feel inside the rooms than you would guess. Not your typical beach hotel room. We are back for the first time since the inn was sold. There are definitely small (and important) touches missing from the experience and the prices have increased significantly. We will greatly miss the traditional on-site inn-keepers model and the history and relationships we had built there. Change is H-A-R-D. My husband and I were traveling down the Oregon Coast for a week and after leaving the Portland area drove several hours until we decided upon Yachats for our night's stay. We viewed some suggestions via Kayak- nothing spectacular jumped out at us, a few of your standard chains etc. We drove through the entire town to decide on what looked like a good stop. And the Ocean Cove looked quaint, clean and inviting- as well as being located amongst some of the best restaurants in the town. I interrupted the proprietors' dinner- but was graciously taken care of, shown a few rooms to pick from and finely settled on the "Driftwood". Cute decor, very comfortable and pristinely clean. Little touches that were nice that you just don't get a chain- granola bars, makeup remover cloths, a bathroom with a heater to ensure no chilly tile when you step from the shower, fresh smelling linens and extra blankets that you actually WANTED to sit curled in the rocking chair with. Right by the ocean- good views and little shops and food within steps of the property. A perfect place for a coastal stop. read more

Our family (2 children ages 6 and 9) loved our stay at the Ocean Cove Inn (Ocean View Studio). The deck has a great view of the beach and we enjoyed our breakfasts out here. The studio was clean, spacious and the kids loved the loft style bedroom. The studio had all the amenities we needed.
