This is a tough one -- there's plenty of notes. Room is small, double bed, while comfortable, is pretty small if you're used to a queen, electrical outlets are sparse, and the bathroom fan sounds like a David Lynch movie. And yet... this lovingly restored motel captures the laid back spirit of this wonderful coastal town. The location is perfect to walk to the middle of town where all the good stuff is, the decorations are original and fun, and our host Scott was pleasant and attentive, if a bit too obsessed with providing amazing television options which are obviously not needed in this charming town. I stayed at the Ya-Tel motel in a recent storm. It was much more wind than expected, so I was stuck. I had planned on one night, but I needed to stay a second night. I shared my predicament with the owner, and asked if any restaurants delivered. He did not know of any, but said there was one next door, and offered to pick up an order for me, as I walk with a cane, because of a very unstable knee. He also suggested getting food that would keep without refrigeration, if we lost power. I am very grateful to him, and I will continue to stay in this quaint little motel on future trips. There are no steps to climb, and the door is wide enough for a walker. Thanks Scott! read more

I had a really good stay at Ya-Tel Motel. The motel is located right by the road. It is not very big with what seems like around 9 rooms and enough parking for everyone. For around $100, I had room #8 for a Saturday night. The room was very cute and well decorated. It had 2 queen beds (I think), a TV, a dining table with 4 chairs, a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, and reusable utensils/cups/plates. The beds were very comfy and I had a good night of sleep. The owner, I think Scott was his name, had really good recommendations for sites to see around the area. I would say the only slightly annoying thing I encountered was that my phone was sometimes in a dead zone, but the wifi worked fast enough for me to watch videos on my phone. The one thing they could slightly improve on is labeling the showering things in the bathroom shower. Overall, I had a great stay, would highly recommend this place, and look forward to returning in the future! read more

Wow! This little gem exceeded our expectations on SO MANY LEVELS: The location, the proprietors, the motel as a whole, the rooms, the amenities, the peace. We are already planning our next visit! We decided at the last minute to head to Yachats from Portland as we needed some ocean time. When we saw the Ya'Tel Motel had availability, we were so skeptical. It just looked too charming to have space for us. We are SO GLAD we ended up here rather than one of the places a little further north. So many great restaurants, the farmers market, and the grocery store are walkable from here, the 804 trail is easily accessible, and most importantly, delicious coffee is a quick stroll away. :-) The owners are the nicest and so helpful. The motel is cozy cute. The room is super adorable and comfortable, and so well-appointed. There's a little fridge, microwave, pod coffee machine, plates/cups/bowls/flatware, a dining table and chairs, excellent wifi, and lots of TV channels. The room was so clean and themed in decoration. It's just all meticulously thought out. Most importantly for me, room #5 is very quiet all night long. Ahhhh. Looking forward to our next stay!! read more

Yachats is one of the little towns on US 101 that you might just drive past without stopping. But if you do stop, stay here! Ya'tel Motel is a charming, family-run motel that's comfortable, nicely furnished, and well cared for by the owners. We were helped by Scott, one of the owners, who got us checked-in, told us about the various places in town to eat and things to see. He even helped us with our laundry! Wi-Fi/internet access was excellent. We were on a trip up the Pacific Coast and of all the places we stayed over the course of 2 weeks, this is one we keep coming back to thinking about how much we liked it. read more

The only good thing about this room is that it was quiet, I spent eight nights there with two towels and toilet paper got low and the garbage never was taken out. Floors weren't all that clean either. I don't dare walk on the floor with bare feet I don't like scraping dirt and grime off my feet. I didn't dare use the little coffee marker, it was so grimy .Their smoke detector went off in the middle of the night , this loud chirp , had to disable it. They never offered anything ,no new towels , didn't take garbage out, garbage was full I had to stomp on it, you think after somebody spent eight nights here that they would accommodate you by emptying your garbage out give you fresh towels. Two towels for eight days really I wonder if they live like that at their house. I will never stay there again. read more

This is the best place. It feels more like a house or apartment rather than a motel. I wish I had gotten the name of the wonderful lady at the desk. You, ma'am, were incredibly friendly and welcoming and just lovely. Please please please don't ever change a thing about the Lighthouse Room. It's perfect. I was so happy there. I will never stay anywhere else in Yachats and I always want that room! This place is tiny (9 rooms) and so cute and extraordinarily clean. I felt very safe staying there as a single lady. This room faces the 101 but the town is sleepy and quiet during the winter (I don't know about summer) so I didn't hear noise. Even if there was noise, I'd still only stay in that perfect little room. (Tip for the Lighthouse Room: If you stay, bring your own hair dryer. As with all baseboard heaters, turn it up slowly, for once it's warm, it's warm!) read more

Loved the room decor! It was perfect. It's warm and inviting and fun. Plenty of room for two people. The owner is very friendly and made suggestions of places to eat, things to do. We were in room 5 which even has ocean views. We will definitely stay here again. Only downside is the highway traffic but it wasn't overwhelming or too loud to sleep. read more

The motel was really nice. The room was one of the best I've seen. The only issue I had was the shower did not work. I paid about $150.00 for the night and in the morning could not take a shower. Mine was the last room available that day, room #8. I tried everything to get that shower to turn on and nada. I left at around 7 in the morning so there was no one in the office that early. The place was super nice and designed well. All that meant nothing when I could not take a shower. Please get that shower fixed so no one else has the same experience. read more

Newly renovated boutique motel in the heart of Yachats! Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted at our car by Scott, the inn keeper! He was so appreciative of our interest in staying there and thoroughly walked through the check-in process and our amenities. Throughout our entire time at Ya'Motel, Scott took a lot of pride in making sure we were happy and was also excited to show us what improvements he was making next at the motel. He was SO nice! From Hwy. 101, Ya'Motel looks just like an ordinary motel, but don't let this fool you. It's a diamond in the ruff - Total boutique and modern in the rooms (each room is unique). We were in Room #6 (the suite) which had a fully stocked kitchen (silverware, bowls, plates, stove, sink, corkscrew, large refrigerator, etc.). Oh, the shower was AWESOME! It had shower-floor tiles in the shapes of rocks/pebbles (easy on the feet)! And, the bathroom faucet had a nice ambient, tasteful LED light effect! Great Wi-Fi. You can walk everywhere! I highly recommend eating brunch at Beach Street Kitchen (affordable fusion farm-to-table brunch with a casual chill atmosphere & great ocean views and frothy cappuccinos!) The motel is set back on Hwy. 101, and we didn't hear a peep. Beautiful garden views from the back porch and den. Best value in Yachats! read more

We loved this place so much! Very friendly and so many great places to eat within walking distance. They are also dog friendly so that means we are coming back for sure. There is a great beach within walking distance with lots of places to explore and make sure you seek out the little boardwalk that winds through the marsh across the street. It's a hidden gem! This is an adorable, privately owned little hotel that is evidently cared for with love by the owners. The room was absolutely spotless. The owner who also checked me in was fun to talk to and took an interest in my new dog. The room had A coffee maker as well as some nice kitchenware, a fridge, and microwave. Great little motel to stay at in great little Yachats. Surprisingly, you actually get three rooms, a front room which includes a sofa, TV, fridge and table, the actual bedroom and a tiny bathroom. The owners are very friendly and gracious people and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Yachats is tiny so everything is within walking distance, bookshops, ice cream shops, dinner places, cafes, tidal pools and of course the beach. I had a great time here and the beds are very comfortable. Also, the wifi here is pretty consistent. I really liked this tiny town and how everything and everyone comes to a standstill to watch the epic sunsets over the ocean. read more

We'd been camped at Washburne State Park when the governor issued a state-wide burn ban. Wow! We had a wonderful stay here! Exemplary customer service. Comfortable and pleasant rooms. Beach view. Cute vibe. The beds were soft and comfy. The tv had full cable and an Xbox! The restrooms were recently redone. The decorations looked adorable and perfect for a beach motel. We had a wonderful time! We asked if we could be upgraded and the super helpful manager/owner moved us into an apartment style room with a full kitchen and rooms with a door. There is access to laundry facilities and the office has a free movie library. It is walking distance to everything in the town and some breathtaking beaches. 5 min drive to devils churn and perpetual scenic overlook. If you want classic beach feel for a good price, this is your place! read more

(Would love to have given 5 star rating - every other visit has been 5 star) It is time to upgrade the heating system, which looks to have been installed somewhere in the 1950s. The entire night, the heating units in #6 clacked/snapped/dripped whatever you want to call it- continuously and unrelentingly roughly every three seconds. Like water torture for my ears. It's 5:40 am. I haven't slept more than two continuous hours. My girlfriend and dogs and I checked in, the room is gorgeous, the people are great, the location is wonderful, and Yachts and the Ya-Tell Motel have always been my escape from Salem. Tonight, nope. Plainly, I'm furious. Walking my pups (since I had plenty to do all night as sleeping wasn't a viable option), I noticed there are other pet friendly lodging in the area. I will be trying one next. Everything great you have going for you here at Ya-Tel Motel means nothing when your guests can't sleep. Please - you did a great job on your remodeling. Now upgrade your infrastructure. read more

Love Yachats--have been coming up for more than 20 years, and when my favorite spot was booked, I had to have somewhere to stay for just a night. A good friend recommended Ya Tel. The prices cannot be beat...and they don't beat you up if you are a last minute guest like many hotels do. The rooms are very tidy and they have such nice little touches, like candles holders that are created from the ocean offerings, wine bottle openers, glasses, even dishes! Room five is "our room"...we love it so much we bought a copy of the bedding. It is private, since the office is on one side and the laundryroom on the other. Another room we love when we have all the kids with us is the family room. It's awesome! Again, as I said in my Rock Park review, if you want the Hilton, stay in Portland. This place is eclectic and quaint...but clean and nice. The couple who own it are amazing and they treat you like you are guests, not just clients. Visit...it's a great place! read more

Pleasantly surprised with how clean and quaint the rooms are at this little gem right outside of Yachats. Table for two, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, toaster, and dishes offered everything I needed and more. There was also a little rocking chair and foot stool with a reading lamp in the corner. The person who checked us in was friendly and let us know the rules for having a pet: no dogs on the bed, pointed out where to walk the dog, and no dogs in the room when we're not here. I can handle that. Two thumbs up on being pet friendly. I would certainly return to this motel and would recommend it to friends who want a simple stay on the central coast. read more

The best value in Yachats, and Yachats is one of the best stops on the Oregon coast. This very small 8 room hotel located right on Hiway 101 in Yachats is one of our favorites. Its run by a local family who takes great pride in their business. Rooms have kitchenettes which allow us to make our own breakfast and such. Every room is unique and themes, the Wifi is spot on fast and easy use. A great launching point for stops along the beautiful Oregon coast. Most people staying in town are easily paying twice the rate that Yatel charges. Super nice also is that the Blue Whale family restaurant is conveniently right next door. A 10 minute walk brings you to the ocean front with tide pools and benches with views. Its a great community and a super place to stay. Easy online reservations make it simple. read more

We stayed for a week this summer, and the Ya-tel is a wonderful experience. Cute and cozy, our room had nice touches of home for decor and the furniture. We were lucky enough to get the end unit which has an extra living space and you can see the ocean out of a big picture window.
