    Nikki truly enjoying the sunset
    Ken C.

This was our second visit to Dean's. It was a spur of the moment decision because the weather looked like it was going to be nice. The rooms are incredibly clean. The housekeeping does an amazing job. We don't spend much time in the room in the winter time, we are out walking the beach or just relaxing on a blanket You can go down to the beach and watch the sunset or they have nice benches at the top of the cliff with a perfect view of the sunset. We really like coming here and bringing our labrador along. I think she enjoys laying on the beach as much as we do

Sunset over the Ocean from the patio in front of room.

Great dog friendly hotel with simple but nicely decorated rooms and huge grassy area that has steps down to a deserted beach. Very good value for the area.

We only had the chance to stay here for one evening, but we wish we could have stayed longer! The motel is perfectly located with a front row to the ocean. The staff is incredibly kind and the rooms are perfect - you even get a little patio/seating area with your space! A must-stay spot!

We went there on our wedding night with our dogs. The room was beautiful with a beach design. We could see the ocean from our room and our room had a fireplace too. Very comfortable and quiet plus they had a bag for the dogs to use with a dog bed, towel, water bowl and treats. It was very romantic and special for us. We will definitely be going back. Thank you so much for the wonderful honeymoon night.

We finally made it back to this wonderful place. Peaceful and quiet. Comfortable rooms and beautiful location. It is one of my favorite places to stay. Step out your door to a huge grassy area and straight to the gorgeous sandy beach. Extremely friendly and nice staff. I highly recommend!!!

Okay, so we're not rating this motel compared to 5-star hotels. Right up front they state they're a 2-star motel or "lodge". With that said, we knew what we were getting into. My husband and I stayed here three nights while traveling up and down the Oregon coast. We found it to be quaint, unique, comfortable, and very clean. The staff was very friendly. We were quite pleased! We got to talk to one of the owners who told us about the history of the motel and how they acquired it. Most of the motel is original from the 1940's with some updating done. The place has it's own access to the beach which was quite beautiful. We will definitely be returning!

Booked our room in a hurry for a surprise trip to yachats, Deanne's turned out to be the perfect place! Checking in was quick, and the woman working the reception desk was as sweet as can be. Our room was clean, accommodating, and to be honest, the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! The private patio behind the room was a perfect place to spend the evening and even do a little bit of yoga. With the beach being just a couple steps away from our room, we got to enjoy our trip to the fullest. If you're on a budget but looking for the comfort and charm of a b&b, this is the place to go.

I absolutely fell in love with this place! So much charm - a great little jewel on the coast. The rooms are so comfy, clean and a wonderful bed for a great rest after playing on the pristine beach. The view from my room/bed made me never want to leave. The back patio is covered with sitting areas for days where the weather might be a bit stormy...I enjoyed watching the storm come in while bundled up out of the wind and rain. What I loved about this place was it wasn't in town where it's packed in and crowded. I was able to take my dogs to the beach for hours without another person around as if it were my own personal paradise. I really cannot wait to come back. Everything really was perfect! Thank you to Chad and the other staff for being so welcoming and friendly. I will see you again!!!

We just had our third visit here. This quaint little place is charmingly old-fashioned yet functional and clean. Crank up the heat, and open the window to enjoy the sound of the surf and the smell of the sea. The beach is just a short walk. This lodge is in between towns so there's not a lot of people on this beach.

We found this older motel situated a few miles north of the downtown area to be just what we expected. The staff is very helpful and the room was both clean and quiet. Ours contained a king size bed, small refrigerator, microwave and a small TV. All rooms share a patio with picnic tables and small BBQ's. The reason Oceanfront is included in the motel's name rather ocean view is because one must navigate across an expansive lawn to reach the beach. The breakfast offered was pretty lame so we ate elsewhere. Overall this property offers a good value and we would be happy to stay there again.

Ten years ago, we had stayed here for a few days and loved it. Back then it was called Soma's and the motel was painted pink - most likely what got our attention. The huge attraction to this place all those years ago? We remembered the huge backyard that led to the beach. It felt like our own private gateway to the sun, sand, and sea. Fast forward to the present day. After exchanging ownership 2 or 3 times, the motel, now called Deane's Oceanfront Lodge, has made a few improvements to keep up with the times. For example, there's now a wide-screen TV, coffeemaker, mini fridge, a DVD player (the front desk has a variety of movies to choose from), and of course, the obligatory WiFi connectivity. That's not what we came here for. What brought us back, was the expansive backyard, which has a cliff's edge, and leads to the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and easy access to the beach. To us, (my wife, son, and daughter, and our dog, Ryle) this is what makes the experience truly enjoyable and breathtaking. Sure, there are beach access from other motel and lodging areas but the instant gratification of hitting the beach via the back door makes a huge difference. The room we stayed in had two rooms and was comfortable enough. Again, there maybe better accomodations elsewhere but the backyard ... the backyard is what makes it for us. My family, for sure, would want to come back for another visit. It's also about a two mile drive into Yachats.

Booked on a whim as we were driving up the coast and needed a place to stay for the evening. Deane's Oceanfront Lodge was cute, cozy, and perfectly located. Room was spacious and well kept up, plenty of hot water in the shower. TV had lots of channels to choose from, and they also provided a DVD player, with DVD's to borrow to watch. We really enjoyed the beach access and ocean views from our room. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating! Will certainly stay here again in the future!

Posting the photo they posted on their facebook so everybody can see it! Just a little sprucing.

Nice views but overboard on the herbs so took away from actual prawn and pasta flavor. Also $34 for 1 lunch without a drink is kinda spendy.

Also the frogs will sing you a sweet song to sleep if you listen closely. I've never stayed anywhere more charming. Super short walk away to the waves, the beach, and town is just around the bend (also an easy walk). The pool also has a view of the ocean. So cool. Did I mention dog friendly? FYI. If you notice some difference in reviewers experience I believe it's the difference of the units verses the rooms. The rooms are more retro and though they have nice updates, I highly recommend the kitchen units as opposed to the rooms (I've stayed in both). The units are fantastic and worth the tiny bit extra. The rooms have great decks and patios to a lovely beach view but there is an old funk smell that unless you are a smoker is noticeable-- so do yourself a favor and get a kitchen suite. Your wife can thank me later. :) You'll want to plan to book a few extra days because this place is like a warm hug. It's unlike anything out there these days. You can get a clean room almost anywhere but encountering amazing humans on the road is priceless. Thank you Yachats Inn for making my summer to the coast a lovely and wonderfully memorable stay. Plus, I used to be a hotel housekeeper and I know how often hotels/motels wash the comforters and fleece blankets..... hint: not often! You can always ask for a clean set from the front desk though and those will likely be clean. I just bing my own if I can though. Water pressure left something (everything) to be desired. Kitchen 8/10 for cleanliness. Be aware that past guests are the ones who do the dishes mmmk? Definitely wash them yourself before you use them if you have any self respect. TV was a newer one with whatever streaming service on it. I didn't use it. I didn't really use the Wi-Fi either so can't attest to that. Full size fridge and older oven in room 4. Table and 4 chairs. 2 queen beds. Attentive housekeeping. When I refused they said they would contact a local person for assistance. No one ever came. No one contacted us. I even reached out to corporate and no one came. No one contacted us. So despite a pretty room and clean linens they get 2 stars because hot water is kind of a necessity in a hotel. Further, they didn't offer a discount for their failure to provide the hot water during our 5 night stay. Other things to know; The images don't show that highway 101 runs between this building and the beach. Nor do they show that the balconies with the rooms are shared and not private.
