This is such a beautiful and new place located right across from Ocean Hills Country Club. We just visited here over the weekend since my mom has been looking lately. Maria was our community relations director. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. We got to visit a few of the rooms in the assisted living building which is only about 4 months old. The other part of this facility is the independent living, which is about 3 years old. This place really is beautiful and they have a variety of one and two-bedroom places, and two of the rooms were available for my mom. They have a beautiful pool, movie theatre room, dining area, and the place feels just about the right size and not too large, so it's easy to make friends and not having to walk too far to get anywhere. Viewed a lot of places to place my 88 year old mother who needs more care then I can provide. Ocean Hills was by far the best I found! Angelica was amazing and understood my needs. The med techs are exquisite. Staff is very attentive and understanding! Beautiful location and BEAUTIFUL facility. Clean and secure. Mom is very unsocial but for the first time in decades she is very social! Meeting ladies for lunch and social events! Managements horrible, and simply put on a big show that they pretend to care, but they don't. Sheryl, the executive director, and Erika, supervisor in Memory Care are awful and VERY defensive! Example: Last month I sent 2 emails AND 3 voicemails to Sheryl. I never received any reply back until I called her direct line using *67 blocking my number. She actually picked up then, and couldn't give me one excuse why she hadn't responded back to me. THAT'S BAD MANAGEMENT!! It starts at the top. Their crappy attitude trickles down to the employees. Memory Care is DIRTY, EXPENSIVE AND SMELLY as well! Our monthly rent was up to over $8,000!! They charge for everything extra they can find. I moved my Mom out yesterday. Should've done it along time ago. I wish I could give them ZERO stars! Please don't let your loved ones stay at this VERY unprofessional facility! You'll regret it...I promise you that. read more

I agree with Sharon - including mgmt does not acknowledge concerns and will kick you out if you DARE to give your grievance. Bill - Maintenance Manager is their ONLY REDEEMING value/factor. Unlike management, he is respectful, knowledgeable, cares about the seniors, does all repairs needed and goes beyond his duties to help us grannies. The evening receptionist is outright rude and mean spirited and makes unkind comments to most residents at one time or another. FOOD IS great with a great CHEF & great staff - always has a smile = especially Nora & Grace. Check out other places first. YOU NEED YOUR CAR - they do have a transportation bus on restrictive schedule. NO STORES etc. nearby. You need transportation because closest stores are by freeway - 5+ miles. MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE, especially in Memory Care! We had SO MANY issues...too many to mention! When we brought the concerns to management, we were met with such rudeness, denial and nastiness. To Potential Residents I lived there for a year. It's a very pretty but beauty is only skin deep. I suggest you thoroughly investigate this place. Investigate the food, the medical assistance, and those responsible for your general welfare. I have moved to a different facility and a much happier. It's not gorgeous but I don't care. There are activities for me and I have choices in those activities.l don't just sit in my room any more. I realize that pandemic is limiting all these facilities. But there are things that can be provided to you that will make your life a little more interesting. I have made similar comments on Facebook, but I have been blocked. read more

I was looking for a home so that I could transfer my mother down from Northern California. I was given the name of a couple of assisted living places and as soon as soon as my daughter and I walked into Ocean Hills we knew this was the place. The facility is clean and beautiful. Ocean Hills is a new and beautiful residence for your family member that has been diagnosed with dimension/Alzheimer's. The moment I walked in I knew this would be perfect for my 90 year old father, Richard. He has always appreciated the finer things in life. Speaking of which, he says the food is not bad! The accommodations can be single or double rooms. Each including their own bathroom and large closet. All rooms have windows to the outside. My father likes his privacy, so the private room was perfect for him. They have designed a large gathering space, at the opposite end of the hall that includes an area for crafts and games, another area with comfortable chairs for television watching and the third area for dining, which is right next to a kitchen. There are lots of windows, which gives it an open and airy feel and two doors, one on each end leading out to a pretty enclosed patio. Also at that end are the offices and the med-tech stations. They do a great job keeping track of everyone's medical needs. Available if you choose, is a doctor that will treat residences right on site, which I found to be so convenient. What is so special about the staff (led by Jamie Colon) is that they are knowledgeable and dedicated to helping the residents feel at home. Which is so important because it is such a big adjustment. It took a while for my father to feel comfortable. I so appreciated the staff encouraging him to participate in activities ranging from bingo, ball toss, trivia games to exercise their mental capacity, as well as physical exercise to help keep them in shape.. My father used to paint, so I was pleased that they brought in an artist once a month to help them create a work of art. They also brought in a wonderful Piano player that led them in a sing-a-long of the oldies. In the beginning my father was so shy, (I guess he still is) but I remember talking to him about playing bingo. He said he didn't know what that was and didn't think he wanted to play, but I talked him into it and then 3 days later I came in for a visit and there he sat at the bingo table having won two straight games that included two pieces of chocolate. Now they had my dad's attention! Of course, several things have changed with Covid19. No visiting of artists, musicians, sons, and daughters, husbands and wives. But I can honestly say that I feel totally confident of the care my father is receiving at Ocean Hills Senior Living. I am so grateful that he now feels it is his home. read more

This is the worst place ever to send the elderly - they will talk a great talk but cannot live up to expectations. The food is the absolute worst, cleanliness is terrible, and the care givers do not care about the quality of care they give to the elderly. From a dirty dining room and silverware, to mishandling of medications, to slow responses when called, to even letting people lay in soiled garments because they would not take them to the restroom. I drove 16 hours straight to rescue my parents from this place. The management is more concerned about putting on a "good show" to new people, that they do not take care of the current residents. We recently had the need to select an assisted living facility for our parents. Obviously this is a very important decision so we invested considerable time researching and evaluating our options. In the end we selected Ocean Hills and could not be happier with our decision. Throughout the evaluation process, the staff was extremely professional, responsive and helpful. We had a number of complex details we needed to work through given our specific situation and they were supportive and helpful each step of the way. This high level of care has continued since moving in. The staff is very attentive, supportive and great at communicating with our family. In summary, the incredible facility, supportive staff, high level of care and "can do" attitude of everyone we have interacted with has made the transition to assisted living a positive experience.
