I recently came back from a trip to French Polynesia and on the last day of the trip, iPhone XS Max glitched out and stopped working. Did the phone get wet? Overheat? Took it to Apple thinking AppleCare + would solve the issue. Nope. Apple is happy to replace the phone, but all the data would be lost. Lesson here is ALWAYS back up your photos/videos/notes/music to icloud, google photos, external hard drive, etc. I needed my photos from my trip and all the other photos/videos from the last two years, so I did a yelp search and Ocean iPhone Repair popped up. Sent an email to Roy and he promptly replied saying he could work on my phone as soon as I was ready to drop it off. Dropped by his place in SF on a Monday afternoon and by Tuesday night, 6000 of my photos/videos were recovered. He had backed everything onto a USB and put the phone back together nicely. Roy sent emails showing me the internals of the phone and told me the phone wasn't salvageable, but the data recovery could be done. My wife's phone died two days before I was about to send it in for the $700 trade in deal from T-mobile. It was getting very close to the deadline and she took the phone to a random store in San Mateo. Long story short he took 2 days to diagnose and said it is the power IC chip and lied to me and said "no one in the Bay Area could fix it" and require sending to technician in LA. Somehow, some way Roy was able to determine that there was a malfunction in the electronics that allow a toggle between the front and rear cameras. He originally quoted me 24 hrs but I dropped my phone off in the morning and he messaged me around 1:00PM that it was ready to be picked up. Roy's service is first-rate . . . and the prices are very good. He has a straightforward business model: call and make an appointment and then take your broken phone to his home. Typically, he'll fix in as little as 15-20 minutes . . . maybe a little longer for more complex issues. While he's fixing it, there's plenty to do within a couple of blocks -- McDonalds, Whole Foods, Target, Chase and BofA banks, and the Ingleside Branch library.you can get a good coffee or do a little shopping. (He lives just off of Ocean Ave -- a few blocks off of I-280.) You then go back and pick it up. Perhaps some people might be wary about this arrangement, but you never go in his home. He apparently saves on his insurance costs by not bringing customers into his house. A little atypical, but it works very well. Text him when you near the address, and he'll be out there waiting for you. He's a very pleasant and accommodating fellow. You will like him . . . his work . . . and his prices. read more

Amazing service! I found this place on craigslist for a much better price than everyone else in the city. I shot Roy a text and it's amazing because he offers to come to you for an extra few bucks. He came through to my office within an hour and was done in less than 20 minutes. My phone worked fantastic, but only for an hour.
