Lew is amazing and the only person I'll be going to when my phone breaks - I'm sure it won't be the last time. I made a same day appointment and he fixed my phone within 20-25 mins. I was unlucky because it's rare to get a defective screen, but I did. The screen kept freezing up and I texted Lew - he was so responsive and tried to help me trouble shoot. When nothing was working he made another appt with me and fixed it for me super fast and he noticed my iPhone case was a bit broken on the corner and also gave me a new case since I had to make 2 trips. Walked in at 12, picked up at 12:45. Replaced my screen and battery. After being run over by a car! There's a collection of lunch places on this block, so it's convenient to leave the phone for repairs while you go eat. I didn't opt to get my front camera assembly replaced since I was getting a new phone on this occasion. I just wanted a house phone to use for playing music or recording timelapses. However, no fault for this fixer, my phone is now bricked: Tip: IF you're like me and activated 'lost mode' on your iPhone before finding it, shattered after being run over by a car, beware. Once the iPhone gets a data connection, it will brick, saying it's in lost mode. To exit lost mode.. use faceID. Makes a lot of sense. But my front camera was destroyed. :/ read more

Welp...So I jinxed myself. Had to go back to Lew just a couple of months later after I dropped my phone again. It kept rebooting, and I tried every option on the internet to fix it. Nothing worked, so I accepted my fate and went back to iPhone Repair Fidi. Lew told me that it could be screen or a hardware issue. He said he could try replacing the screen, but if that didn't work (indicating a hardware problem), he would not charge me for it. I agreed, and thankfully it was just a screen issue! He was able to get my phone working again in less than 30 minutes, and I was able to trade it in for a new phone later on with no issues. It would've been way more expensive to get a new phone. Both devices displayed that it was not an authentic Apple part in settings for a while. The notice is now gone. His shop is upstairs. You'll need to ring the doorbell for him to let you in. My mom ran over her iPhone with her wheelchair (yikes), damaging not only the glass but the underlying LCD. I thought we'd have to send it off to iPhone heaven, but thought hey, worth a try to see if it can be fixed. I used Yelp's Request a Quote, sent a picture of the horrific damage, and got several quotes back from iPhone repair businesses in SF. I really appreciated how the owner said if it couldn't be fixed, I wouldn't be charged. Finding the building is slightly challenging - look for the sushi place with the black awning (Tenmatsu), and the stairs are on the right side. I dropped it off, went for lunch, and came back in the agreed upon 45 minutes to find a fully functioning phone, yay!
