I probably wouldn't normally give any nail salon 5 stars, but this place deserves it! They went above and beyond. Me and some girlfriends were looking for a fun thing to do to pamper ourselves, and ended up here. We were happy to see that the salon was large and that they had a ton of chairs to fit us all in at the same time! The workers were very kind and instantly got us seated. I got a pedicure, and was impressed with the amount of care and detail. I've had my nails painted before where they haven't gone all the way to the edge, didn't put on enough coats, etc., but they were very good here! My friend mentioned that it was my birthday, and my lady offered to paint a decal on for free! I thought this was incredibly kind and is a big reason I give them 5 stars...good customer service goes a long way! All of my friends and I left with our feet feeling great and looking beautiful! Pros - took two walk-ins fairly quickly and we were done in a reasonable amount of time (we now know why) Cons - got the standard pedicure so was not waiting for luxury but I wasn't expecting a quick toe wash, clip and paint. In this scenario faster certainly was not better. As for the nails - ugh. Uneven length and shape and far too thick. I didn't notice how bad they really were until I got home. Honestly I was just trying to smile and get out of there before my face gave away mu total dissatisfaction. Yes, I did see the few prior negative reviews but since they were a few years old, I gave some grace and hoped for staff turn over or training. Apparently not. read more

OK, so we are in from out of town and we all know how hard it is to find a nail shop that does simple classy and traditional nails. Not only did they do my classic French tip but it was efficient. It was pretty quick literally 45 minutes and absolutely looked great. it is a great space and the prices were absolutely on point. This town is lucky to have a nail salon. Ocean Salon was able to fit me in within 30 minutes on a Wednesday afternoon. Friendly staff and very reasonable pricing.

I was thankful they got us in as quick as they did...don't get me wrong. But they were a little understaffed at the time and people kept walking in and calling like every 3 minutes (which normally would be good). Only problem is I feel like they were rushing my services to serve others sooner. My pedi was shorter than my neices and I couldn't believe how fast she was goopin polish and clear on top of each other. Needless to say my nails look like crap. Now I'm a guy so I'm not butt hurt, but for $105 (before gratuity) for my niece and I to have mani/pedi's together, well, let's just say I was very disappointed in the service. New here and was very surprised on how dirty and cluttered the place was. I had read such good reviews! The doors coming into the place were cloudy with dirt and curtains on windows barely hung. Used the bathroom and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month of Sundays. A curtain half pulled over what I assumed was storage. Waste paper basket filthy. The staff seemed friendly. The waiting area had worn seats and couch covers that were worn and dirty. Overall cleanliness was very poor which concerns me on how clean the nails tools are. My experience with Ocean Nails was without a doubt the worst experience I have EVER had. I feel terrible my daughter and granddaughter received such terrible service. I came to visit from out of town. This was something we had been looking forward to, it was the first thing they wanted to do when I planned our visit. We had Appointments scheduled for 3:30, Saturday, Aug 19th. when we arrived, they were very busy. No hello, didn't ask our name, told us to pick a color and asked if we wanted gel. My daughter told them we had appointments for 3:30. Nothing said. Right from the beginning, the owner or manager, seemed angry. I'm not sure if she was the manager or owner, the way she interacted with the other employees made me think she was in charge. It took 40 minutes for all the us to be seated in the pedicure chairs, 2 of us were asked to sit at about 30 minutes with the last one at 40 minutes. No acknowledgement or apology. The woman in charge seemed angry and disinterested in HAVING to do another pedicure. In the 30 years I've been getting manicures/fills and pedicures, I've been helped by nail technicians who had no interest in small talk or me as a person. They did, however, do a great job with my nails. They truly cared about the job they did, knowing I would tell others. They understood referrals are the best source of new business. Ocean Nails didn't care about the three if us. They didn't care if they did a good job out not. My daughter was helped by the nicest of the three employees Unfortunately he cut my daughters foot. He showed it to her not saying anything, it was as if he was asking what happened but would've known there was no cut when he started. We had a 9 year old with us, we asked about kid manicures and pedicures. Told the kid pedicure is "like" a regular pedicure but "less". We weren't sure what that meant. The tech took 15 minutes to finish the pedicure and the other tech painted her nails and nothing else. I was watching her carefully when they move her to a nail station. Ocean Nails should be ashamed of the service provided to us. I was charged $210. When I questioned about the kid manicure/pedicure, she told me no difference. I was in tears when I left. I was embarrassed for getting upset. The owner or manager didn't care that I was upset. She wanted to be paid and for us to leave. Congratulations, you got both wishes. read more

My daughter made an appointment for her and her sister for her birthday. My daughter asked Don what would work best and then got what he suggested, hombre with some butterflies. They both get their nails done quite a bit and we're both real happy with the results. I'm a 45-year-old dad and I don't know jack about getting nails done but they look good to me. I would give it zero stars if I could. It's the worst mani/pedi I ever had. Fast, without TLC, the massage is nothing to speak off, and my nail polish is full of bubbles and uneven. If it had been an express one for $15 I would have said nothing. You pay what you get for but for $32 this is one horrible service. Avoid at all costs!!! read more

I walked in for a mani and pedi on a Friday evening. The staff was welcoming and helpful with a short wait time. Their service was great. They had a nice selection of paint and gel colors. Not as much as some other shops I have gone to outside of Idaho but enough to find something you like. My pedicure was enjoyable and my foot/calve massage was firm. This is the fourth nail salon I've visited in the Pocatello area since moving here a year ago. This place has lots of potential but it's lack of professionalism really drives it down hill. The whole shop is in much need of upkeep. Stained carpet, broken tiles, gummed up polish bottles, just to name some. The guy running the place (the only worker I've seen there) talks a big talk but he couldn't follow through. I wanted an ombré gel and ended up with a smear of colors that began to chip the next day. I went back and he willingly repainted them to a single color which was nice. On my way out I saw that the State of Idaho has only given them a "C" for meeting health regulations. Ewwwww... Came on a Saturday afternoon surprisingly not too busy compared to the rest of the nail salons in town. The gal who did my pedi talked non stop to another Tech the whole time, no biggie. However she hardly did anything to my feet. The color I chose was so old that it was thick. She didn't bother to tell me it looked bad, homegirl was just going to allow me to walk out the door looking like a five year old painted them for me. So I changed colors, its WORSE! Omg. Immediately after this I will be removing this polish. I could have stayed home to soak my feet in cold water and slap some lotion on. Do not recommend. read more

They make small talks with you and that makes me feel like you're wanted here. I've been to nail salons where they just completely ignore you. if I could give no stars I would I just had the worst experience at this place that I've had a nail salon in a long time I've been going we're going on a year and a halfI always get my eyebrows waxed and occasionally get a pedicure today they gave me some man who slapped on the paint as if a five-year-old child did it what I noticed that it was uneven and there seem to be some bumps on their simply requested that he smooth out the bumps he started openly complaining in front of me and I said something to him even though I can't understand I would appreciate if you complain to your co-workers when I'm gone I'm paying good money to have a pedicure done and I'd appreciate not having someone complain about me so openly and rudely whether or not I can it's an English I can still understand the context of what someone is saying and you should not complain about customers openly just because you don't think I can understand they just lost a customer read more

I'm on a winter vacation in Idaho and was looking for a nail shop in Pocatello. In a busy and hectic area on Yellowstone street, Ocean Nails Spa seemed like a good place to try out. First impression was the spacious interior which was very relaxing and comfortable. Second, there were a great number of employees working on a weekday so evenwhen it was busy, i didn't have to wait for long. Also, every people there were very friendly. I got greeted right after i step in the nail shop. On the day, i wanted to get an ombre pink and while on my nails and a pedicure. I was super happy with my nails which came out perfect. My cuticles, my nails shape and the color were stunning. This is the best service and result i have ever gotten! When it came to my pedicure, i got a great service which made me really relax and my toes looked great. This nail shop also offered a very good variety of nail polish in terms of gel and regular polish. Absolutely horrible service. Honestly they don't even deserve 1 star rating! I went in there to get a pedi and the man doing a callus remover scrubbed a hole in the upper side of my foot (didn't even touch the actual Callus). I pulled my foot away in pain, It bled like crazy and he had the nerve to tell me it was a blister and he didn't do it. He still charged me full price too. And to top it off they had some tile that was lifting on the floor and a couple of heavy set woman came in and they asked why the tile looked the way it did and the same man said "because a huge fat lady slipped and broke it!" After that comment the woman seemed very uncomfortable sitting there. Do yourself a favor and save your money, skin on your feet, and avoid rude comments and DONT GO TO OCEAN SPA! Appalling is probably the only word to describe this salon, from services to the look of the place in general. Google reviews on this place was high and even on yelp this place has more then 2 stars. The water was cold for my pedicure. When polish was put on she kept rushing the drying process. So with the cold water she made it worse by fanning the crap out of my feet, then the simple anchor I wanted looked like crap. Then on to my full set of nails. First off the one guy there was helping one girl left her to do mine. Who wants to pay to be waiting in a chair. He rushed putting the acrylic on my nails to where he had to keep putting my hands in a drying machine. It's not like they were busy. There was one other girl in there and at least 5 of them. Just ridiculous how much they rushed my services. And that's not even mentioning how run down the entire place was. 100% sanitized my ***, waste of time and money. I don't ever write reviews and this is how strong I feel about the money I wasted. read more
