We really like this place!!! We want to keep it a secret just to ourselves! Awesome staff, basic but decent amenities. Relatively quiet but walking distance to everything. Spent the 4th weekend here and none of the craziness and weed smoking you get at other locations. Solid, reasonable and vigilant staff. (At first I was a little out off but it but the attentiveness and attention to detail keeps this park an excellent value and wonderful experience. I stayed here for two nights in our RV. I can't speak of the hotel bust as a RV park I give this place a 5 star review for multiple reasons. The price is unbeatable, they had good wifi and full hookups. They had an awesome play set from Mc Donald's which is just awesome.... A little dirty but my 4 1/2 year old boy loved it and let's face it a little dirt never hurt. They are within walking distance to the dollar general and cafes. Just a short drive to the beach and town and pretty close to Long Beach where we spent most of our days. We have been here twice now. This time we rented a full kitchen unit ($10 more). The decor is kitchy, but well appointed and well stocked. It's clean, comfortable, and affordable. What more can you ask for? The pool is unusable, but there is an affordable indoor community pool about 2 miles south on Pacific Hwy. if you really need to swim. Ocean Park Resort is an affordable and very clean old-school oceanside motel and RV park. Do not stay at Ocean Park if you want luxury accommodations and a typical chain motel experience. The grounds are older but kept scrupulously clean and quiet, and the owners are polite and helpful. Never have other travelers been so polite to my wife and I; perhaps it was the unseasonably wonderful weather and the blending of the motel and RV crowd, but we liked it. The rooms are clean and practical, and the grounds are very useful to the beach traveler who actually wants to engage with the ocean! Laundry facilities, a clam cleaning station, and a great fish cleaning station are features we enjoyed. We also appreciated the spacious rooms, free VHS rentals for in-room TV-VCR combos, and the free wi-fi. Perhaps the property's best asset is its proximity to stores, restaurants, bars, and the beach. We drove up the peninsula to dig our razor clams, but some folks walked down to the beach from the room and got limits of big clams! We caught surf perch right out of Ocean Park, scarcely a half mile from our room. Our recent three-night stay was one of our nicest trips ever to the ocean. Yes, the property includes a pool, as mentioned by a previous reviewer. To address his "things-that-make-you-go-hmm" observation, the pool is warm while the Pacific Ocean is cold and dangerous. Kids are better off swimming in the pool and wading carefully in the ocean. The rooms, while nice, are not five-star rooms, but the overall experience and proximity to the ocean deserve make for an awesome experience. read more

We've stayed at this RV park in our motorhome and highly recommend it. Good Sam & AAA rated with excellent rates plus wi-fi. There are multiple pull thru sites, 30 Amp electricity, and the water is very good! The owners Curt & Karen & office staff are tremendous! The laundry facilities are always clean with five washers, & six dryers. There are restroom facilities & showers if one needs to use them, & they are also kept very clean. An additional plus is that they have propane sales right on the property. Each site has a picnic table. There are some wooded sites, & some tent sites with fire pits. An additional option in this resort is a motel. They also have a rec hall/meeting room with kitchen, ping pong, foosball & pool table. There is a fish & clam cleaning area. Our bad experience started with the phone call to make a reservation. First, my mom, whom my family was traveling with, tried to reserve two rooms - one for her and my brother, and the other for me. The lady on the phone wouldn't let her make the reservation for us both. Wierd, but okay. I get on the phone and within two seconds was screaming my answers because the lady was so deaf, and very easily confused. I had to spell my last name three times for her to get it. When I said I had three people (me, my husband, and our 9-year-old son) and needed two beds, she got really flustered. She said my mom just took the last room with two beds. I asked for a hideabed couch. Nope, didn't have one of those. I asked for a rollaway cot. Nope, didn't have one of those. I said I'd bring my own air mattress and my son could sleep on the floor. Nope, no one's allowed to sleep on the floor. I was pissed by this point and said I couldn't very well leave my kid at home. She tells me to hold on a minute, talked to someone next to her, and then gets back on the phone and said they can give us the room with the hideabed couch. Um, what!? She literally just told me they didn't have one not five minutes earlier. Now the owner is telling her we can have that particular room, but we'd get charged for a two bed room. Fine, whatever. Cut to this last Friday when we showed up. First impressions were not very high. It was so run down and dumpy looking. When I went into the office to check in, the same old lady from the phone literally yelled at me to go back outside and wait because only one customer could be in the office at a time (I hadn't seen the other person when I walked in). I went back outside and looked all over the door for a sign that said that. Very small and very faintly written was a sign on the door that said only one customer at a time. Once that lady came out I went in. I told the lady I was checking in, and three times I had to give her my name. She also said my mom had canceled because she was super confused about the customers (and my mom was already there as I'd just talked to her). The room itself was surprisingly decent and clean. You could smell the cleanliness. The bed was a joke! It was so uncomfortable that I did not sleep well either night we were there. I woke up with extreme back and hip pain. The bathroom was tiny but functional. The pool hasn't been cleaned in years and was really nasty looking. That was a bit disappointing as my son loves to swim whenever we travel. Overall, this was not a resort in any sense of the word and had we not been in a hurry to book something when we did, we wouldn't have chosen this place. I agree with Jake H. Our family had reserved this facility for our family reunion months prior but when it came to a evening bonfire in designated bonfire area; we were told to leave at 10:30 PM after bring family members from many hundreds of miles. Some of us had not been together for years and were catching up with family. At check out an additional $27.00 was tacked on a single room reservation with no notice plus a dog charge when there was no dog. Our family will not be using this resort again although we love the Long Beach area for our vacation get aways. read more

Run down facilities. Staff was rude and shut down our family reunion at 11pm on a Saturday night around the bonfire. I will never come back here again. They advertised a heated pool and spa which has been out of service for over two years according to their guest book. What a disappointment! Don't waste your time or money. read more

As far as advertising a "resort" that is a stretch. It took over 20 minutes to make reservation because the lady didn't seem to know what was available. We are 43 ft long and asked to be parked near relatives that were also there but they refused. Many shrubs and trees overgrown causing us to have to negotiate around them so as to not scratch the sides. This is an old park that needs some maintenance to be done. Close to beach which is good. The pool they advertised is just a cesspool that doesn't look like it has been open in years. read more

Jeff H's review is right on. We've come back 4 consecutive years for the razor clamming season. We usually stay about 5 days and even added an extra day this trip. This is a great place to travel with a group. Because the hotel and RV park are together, folks in your party who are not equipped with an RV can stay in the hotel. We like that they have pull through RV spaces and allowed our group to turn our RV's facing together. The park has a rec hall that would be great for a family reunion. While not fancy, the clean room had all the needed utensils in the kitchenette for the full ocean experience of catch, cook, and consume fresh ocean plunder (razors, oysters, surf perch). Jack's Country Store (has everything!) and the IGA grocery store (nice selection of Washington wines) are just a block walk away. Long Beach (south) is commercial, touristy, and pricey. Ocean Park is home-town folksy. The owners are wonderful people that are the icing on the cake. Grandma can get a little addled on taking reservations, so be sure she repeats what you've reserved. (Ask Kurt about the hydroponic garden he's building.) They work very hard to maintain the park in top shape, in spite of the ocean winter storms. We were there for Easter last year with our grandniece and the owners hooked us up to a super Easter egg hunt given by the local car club. I did give it a 4 star because I've never been there that the pool/spa is open and also the playground area could use a little sprucing up. (My feeling is a resort pool should be functional in all seasons.) A hot tub would be really nice (even for an extra fee) especially after working all day to haul in and clean your ocean catch. Another usefull addition would be a designated dog potty area. (Some folks are just lazy when it comes to removing their dog waste.) It's centrally located to clamming (we go above Surfside) and the Willapa Bay public oyster tide flat at Nachotta, with surf perch right off the beach approach. Most of the folks that come to the park are repeaters - attracting great family folk who stroll by & visit while walking their dog, "party light", and turn out the lights at quiet time. The laundry facilities are very practical - hot water and really hot gas dryers (that dry your clothes) for a reasonable price. I like to leave my ocean sand at the beach laundry instead of home to my washing machine. The Wi-fi can be slow when the park is crowded, although that is the provider's issue, not the park. Very friendly & very clean. We camped in our RV ony one night, but would stay there again if it is not too crowded: we like quiet & private, but this is an old-fashioned resort with sites lined up side-by-side, plus a small motel and a few cabins. Almost empty in mid-September so we liked it just fine! Laundry facilities, decent restrooms, etc. a few blocks from the beach, 2-3 blocks from groceries, a cafe, a bar, & a fine country store with everything (Jack's Country Store). read more

This place is fantastic. The people are very nice and the rooms are very clean. There is a pool and hot tub. We stayed in the hotel part of the park, but the cabins look really fun too! I think they are very affordable. No AC! Which wasn't too bad because the breeze was so nice, but it might be handy with some of the hot days. They have washers and dryers and they'll have quarters at the office. I would recommend this place to everyone and I will come back again! We were here for 4 days and it was the best. read more

This is no "resort", don't be fooled! It should be a crime for them to advertise this as a campground as well. The "tent sites" were dirty and small, and the "picnic tables" are three 2 by 4's on PVC pipes. The owners are Nazi's that dictate everything from the strict times you are allowed in the pool, to the rule against clotheslines to hang towels from, to campfires out by 11. (they go around with a bucket of water to put them out!) The only reason they get 1 star is because the bathrooms were clean and recently remodeled. The icing on the cake was the rat that ran across our campsite when we were packing up. AND, the cost was nearly $45 for ONE night! Don't ever go here. I wish I'd read a review of this place before I ever booked. Also, there was only 1 review then that is no longer here. I expect the owner will remove this so you won't know what you're getting. This place is a scam and the owners should be ashamed of themselves. I plan to report to the Better Business Bureau. read more
