Highlights of our trip included: * The Room & Views: Having a suite gave us great extra space, and the views of the Columbia River were unbeatable. * The Amenities: We loved the complimentary hot breakfast (with a live omelet station!), grabbing an early evening drink in the lounge, and the 7 PM cookies. * The Location: It's perfectly situated right on the river walk and just steps away from great places to eat. * The Spa: We both had incredible massages. I usually find resort massages to be hit or miss, but our therapist, Breanne, was phenomenal. She knew exactly what she was doing and finally removed a knot I've had for weeks! Highly recommend booking a stay (and a massage with Breanne)!"

The front desk staff, bartenders, and maid staff were all so friendly and helpful. Check in is a breeze and the rooms are impeccable. There is also a fresh breakfast bar every morning (and a chef that makes omelets and eggs to your liking)! The pool is situated with a great view and has an actual Swedish sauna right there for a quick steam (with water rocks and everything). I could go on and on about how amazing everything is, but the view of the bridge alone is worth the stay. Come stay here to see for yourself!

As others have said, you're paying for the view. However, personally, I have not felt welcome here,…read moreand I also observe that many of the stated amenities or "perks" are not available, not working, or just not.....it's been death by a thousand cuts for me, and it's on top of the multiple racial micro aggressions I've experienced in this town in less than 24 hours. 1. Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.

The property feels like a retreat with a lovely atmosphere that feels a world apart from Long Beach despite being so close in proximity to town. We didn't have time to make full use of the pool, sauna, or pickleball courts - but these amenities would be perfect for a rainy day at the coast and when we come back we'll make more time in our schedule to use them. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and staff was very pleasant. They let me borrow a lighter for a birthday cake which was much appreciated! The walk to the beach is very scenic and beautiful in itself. Highly recommend this resort!

We've been coming to Lighthouse 1-2 times a year for twelve years. We love the proximity to the…read morebeach, the fact that it's very dog friendly, there's a huge indoor pool, and most of all, we love that there is a kitchen so we can make our own meals. Prior to this visit, the rooms were fairly basic, but very adequate. Today, we arrived to find a beautifully updated room, that feels much bigger and much cleaner than they previously were. We have new appliances, new countertop and backsplash, new floors, a larger couch, a huge king bed, a walk-in shower with a new vanity, and everything is just stunning. Very well done! From the bottom units, you have a small deck with a bench, and upper units have a balcony. All rooms overlook the dunes, and the higher ones can catch you a glimpse of the ocean. You spend the evening listening to the roar of the waves. It's so relaxing. In the main office area, you'll find a recreation room, vending machines, and espresso stand with good coffee, and a huge saline pool that's in a solarium type of building. Their fitness center is small but it's something. They love dogs, and it shows. You'll get a welcome pack for your mutt, and there's a lighthouse themed dog house in the parking lot that you can take pictures of your dog with. There's two TVs - you can stream from your device in the bedroom, or watch cable in the living room. You'll have a gas fireplace, a lounge chair, a couch that folds out into a bed with a nice, squishy mattress, and a two person dining table. The staff here have been here a long time, and it's always nice to see a familiar face when we arrive. Shout out to Kevin! Always friendly and helpful. It's about a five minute drive to downtown Long Beach, where you'll find a bakery, an arcade, and lots of shops and restaurants. Don't forget you can even drive on the beach! You'll love it here.

Think of a really cool, amazing place to stay: a lighthouse, an island, a ship...how about at the…read moreend of a pier in the Columbia River? This is best told as a tale: my wife wanted to do something truly unique and awesome for the weekend, so she booked a room at Fisherman Suites, which is right above Coffee Girls at the end of Pier 39 in Astoria. Booking all done on line, confirmed that we'd be arriving at 4:00 on Friday. Wasn't able to get an answer to "where do we find you to check in?" which turned out to be significant. So we arrive at Pier 39 right at 4 PM and start looking for Fisherman Suites. It is upstairs, at the end of a series of offices. That is, the suites are upstairs, but no hotel office and no one around. Tried phoning, but the phone system dead ends, no voice mail. After looking around Pier 39 a bit I went into the brew pub and asked; the office is next to the Pier 39 men's room, and it turns out to be the office for the Pier 39 development. Office is open, no one there. The people in the brew pub suggested the dive shop as another possibility as to where the owner might be, but no joy there: lights on, nobody home. Well, you can imagine that my wife was getting pretty upset by all of this, as she'd planned to have this amazing weekend and it wasn't starting out too well. We'd been wandering around for about an hour when I went back to the pub again and asked if there might be some other way to find the owner. "He's right over there talking to those people." Walked over, introduced myself, and the owner handed me the key. "Let me know if you need anything." Um, right...how would I do that? Never mind. We're here, we've got the key, game on. So we're in our room, which is a wide room with lots of river view windows. Think I'll sit and look out...wait, where's the furniture? Found a small love seat pushed against the wall and moved it and a table into viewing position. Now to turn off the harsh overhead lights and switch on the table lamps...umm...there's one dim table lamp over by the bed, and that's it. Here's what we've got: guy furnishing. The woodworking is beautiful, the lighting is utilitarian, the walls stark white with no art work at all, jangling blue-green bathroom. Noisy fridge, microwave, worst coffeemaker in the universe. A gorgeous gas fireplace that doesn't work. WiFi best described as "iffy." There isn't any sense of cozy or comfortable. I'm guessing that the rooms were designed to be office space and converted into a hotel later. So here's the upside: a unique locale with a stunning view of the river, quiet, remote, and you can walk into town. Coffee Girls is right downstairs. Downside: expensive, not cozy or comfortable, and challenging to do business with. Glad we had the experience, but there are several other riverside places that offer better service and better value.

We loved this place, very quiet, our own private pier to look out over. We got fab sunset…read morepictures. Cheryl and Fred did their best to accommodate us with our last minute reservation.
