This Chinese eatery was open on Christmas Eve. I am so grateful for restaurants open on holidays! I came for early take out after my flight got cancelled. The fried rice is humongous and they even added tofu for no extra charge (paid the price for veggie fried rice). This serving could feed an army. I forgot to eat lunch after all the airport excitement, and I still finished less than half. I also had a small hot and sour soup which hit the spot! The soup comes in small, medium, and large, and I found the small to be plentiful for one. Come hungry because the portion sizes are large and the fried rice was tasty! This coming from a girl whose mom told her, "A day without rice is like a day without sunshine!" I wonder why the restaurant is called Ocean Pearl since the ocean is a long ways away! read more

VEG: Vegetarians/vegans who don't want to leave your lodgings: they deliver and have tofu on their menu. Your only other option is Spicy Basil (also delivers and offers tofu). DELIVERY: Very convenient. Packaging could have been better. They use Styrofoam boxes and also go heavy on the sauce. Bad combo as one of the boxes spilled. MENU: A good amount of options to choose from. TASTE: There's not much going on in Craig in terms of food so my expectations weren't particularly high. The food is mediocre, greasy Chinese that lacks flavor. The tofu and the Szechuan broccoli were alright. The pan fried noodles were not good - some were soft, others were hard - not sure what was going on with that dish. The donuts (which came free with a $30 dollar order) didn't have the right texture. Overall, the food gave me a tummy ache. PORTIONS: Large but that's because most items cost upwards of $8.00. I'd personally prefer smaller portions for less. read more

Gross. Tasted dirty, couldn't even eat the pot stickers literally spit it out. Orange chicken tasted dirty as well only was able to eat a few pieces before I gave up. Vegetable fried rice was decent and the only thing I could eat out of my order. Normally not very picky, and I don't leave reviews very often but would like to save someone else from eating here. I love this restaurant and have been ordering from the Ocean Pearl since it opened. The staff is always very friendly and the owner Henry always remembers my name and face. This place feels like a hometown restaurant should feel. They have gone above and beyond for me when I've had several big orders and always a smile on their faces. I recommend this restaurant highly. I recommend the lemon chicken. It's the best. Thank you Henry and all the Ocean Pearl staff. You folks are amazing. Chinese in the middle of the mountains! This place is on the side of the road in the middle of Colorado. I was driving through and look for something to eat with a friend when we stopped in. On a cold day this place was great, heater at high! But on to the food. I had the orange chicken (I think was the name) It tasted fine, maybe a step or so above Chinese take out food. They aren't exactly a busy place so you will get the service you wish you had at all places. The soup was fine, clear soup, hot and served right away. Meh... So one star for being located in Craig, CO. I called in my order about 8:20pm (they close at 9:30)-pretty simple order- cheese wontons for my daughter, Mongolian beef (without white onions) and szechuan bean curd with steamed rice. On the phone he quoted 20-30 minutes for pick up because they were pretty backed up in the kitchen today. My husband showed up and the man told him that they just made the Mongolian beef the normal way and not the way that we requested. So my husband asked them to remake it. THEN, he takes the order to the sink to rinse it off! My husband asks if he is going to rinse off and remake it using the same meat and he said no (but why is he rinsing the meat off in the sink, weird). They "remake" the order and my husband ordered an extra side of steamed rice, just in case and requested utensils and no need to include soy sauce or extra sauces in the bag. Back to the hotel- no utensils in sight, but we did have extra soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. :/ They gave us fried rice instead of steamed rice (my husband is vegan and can't eat fried rice)...luckily, he had ordered an extra side of steamed rice and they got that right. Then to the Mongolian beef- well, I'm pretty sure it was rinsed off meat- tasted like the beef was boiled and extra chewy...and there was sooooooo much chili and chili peppers it was almost unpalatable. Now, I'm half Korean and I LOVE spicy so if this was hot for me I can't even imagine someone who doesn't tolerate spice well trying to eat this. My opinion of the "fried rice" was that it tasted like long grain rice with soy sauce, nothing special, not much egg either. Wontons were nothing extraordinary, like many other Chinese restaurants and the bean curd was probably the best item we received. My husband said the place was run down looking and all of the chairs were ducted taped so probably not the best eat in option. I had high hopes for this place as I am originally from California and lived in Los Angeles and appreciate good Chinese food as there were a few yelpers claiming 626 locals . I was completely let down by this place. Maybe their excuse was that they were closing but still, quality of food should be perfect every time. What a gem we stumbled upon on our long 8-hour trek from Jackson Wyoming to aspen Colorado. We were craving Chinese and yelp led us here to ocean pearl. Great friendly customer service, authentic tasty food - can't beat that. Every dish we ordered (crispy duck, Szechuan beef, Kung pao chicken, pork pan fried noodles, hot & sour soup, and fried dumplings) were flavorful and delicious. Spicy dishes were perfectly spicy - nice kick to the chicken beef and soup. They also have free vanilla ice cream cones, too!! I love ice cream. All in all, 10/10 would recommend. read more

This was a decent place to eat. The building has a little wear, but was clean. Their menu is extensive, and they do a booming take out business. I wanted soup, so I got a large bowl of hot and sour. It was good and large, then pan dumplings + egg roll. It was very good. Service was efficient - not overly friendly. Efficient. I'd go back when in town. On an elk hunting trip with two friends. Only a few eateries in Craig to chose from. The Pearl Ocean restaurant was a pleasant surprise for the three of us. The food was good and tasty. The staff was friendly and local customers were very engaging on the evening we ate at Ocean Pearl. We are returning to the Craig area in 2017 to hunt elk and we will visit Ocean Pearl once again, a jewel in the Rocky Mountains. read more
