The trip was very easy from the start with getting life vests, paddles, skirts and kayak to adjusting them to meet our sizes. The tour itself was fantastic. All told we kayaked about 6 miles around Hoonah including a stop to view a petroglyph on a rock face. When it was done, I was tired and a little sore from not paddling for a long time, but I was 120% happy and satisfied with the trip. Would love to do this again!

Also to mention the wonderful salmon bake! Fresh fish and live music with covered seating and a creekside view. The short hike to the waterfall was fun too! Special shout out to our wonderful bus driver too! She drives the "sunshine" bus and while her name escapes me, her impression does not! Nice and strong but I couldn't understand anything he was telling us because I was in the front and he has a very very thick accent. I feel like my oldest did not get the experience I hoped for because of the language barrier. Aka she didnt learn anything. Overall, it's beautiful and fun. But cold. We did get wet. The guides knew their stuff, and helped our group feel safe and comfortable, despite the choppy waves. They gave us some great guidance about steering and controlling the kayaks. They were so low key and fun it was almost as if we were a group of 6 friends going out for a paddle. They pointed out landmarks and we even saw eagles feeding on the shore - awesome. We had such an incredible time on our 6 hour halibut fishing charter in Juneau, Alaska with…read moreCaptains Dave & Jojo! We caught our limit of halibut and even reeled in a beautiful yelloweye rockfish. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make the trip special. When we arrived, they greeted us with warm scones and a locally made jam and after fishing, they treated us to the most delicious, smoked salmon salad.. such a thoughtful touch. They were fantastic with our three kids, making the whole afternoon fun and relaxed. The highlight for the kids (besides the fish!) was meeting Jojo's bunny, Mr. B, who lives aboard the boat. This was easily one of the best charter boat experiences we've had in our 5+ trips to Southeast Alaska. Dave & Jojo even helped process our catch when all the regular fish processors were booked during the salmon derby, this was a lifesaver since we wanted to fly our fish back home to Seattle. (Kids not following guides directions, being impatient, and just whiny) Guides Wyatt and Alex tried to bring some humor to the zipline process. Their zip lines are not as intense as others I have done. It's nice they do the braking for you. Fun thing to do, going zipping through the trees!

Have done 3 different locations in the past but everyone has been run differently and has had different safety standards. they did a good job in making me feel comfortable about going again though. The guides were friendly and knowledgable. They made the experience from start to finish a good time. Would recommend them for the future if you are going to the area.
