Autumn clearly has a passion for whales and gave us enough education to fuel our fire for the animals. We saw calves and Sasha and we were treated with the experience of a whale breaching right in front of the boat! Overall a wonderful experience and looking forward to another tour with ATA! Also to mention the wonderful salmon bake! Fresh fish and live music with covered seating and a creekside view. The short hike to the waterfall was fun too! Special shout out to our wonderful bus driver too! She drives the "sunshine" bus and while her name escapes me, her impression does not! She pointed out an eagle's nest, told stories of the legendary wolf Romeo, and gave us a quick but detailed history of the town. Bonus that she's from our neck of the woods!

The guides knew their stuff, and helped our group feel safe and comfortable, despite the choppy waves. They gave us some great guidance about steering and controlling the kayaks. They were so low key and fun it was almost as if we were a group of 6 friends going out for a paddle. They pointed out landmarks and we even saw eagles feeding on the shore - awesome. Hundreds of people disembarked from ship trying to find their excursion group which were many. Not well organized. I asked around and was told to look for staff with orange jackets. Maybe a pole flag would have been helpful. Customer Service Everyone was so pleasant. Young staff relocate here for this job and they are excited to be here. We watched a video and fitted with snow boots. The pilot was very good. As we go into the valley I viewed some of the most stunning glaciers I have ever seen. We landed and walked around and staff guided us. The vibrant blue hues in glacier are from melting snow. In pushup position I dipped my lips and drank running water, so cold and fresh from melting snow. The sharp ice cut the palm of my hand. Only another person did the same and cut his hand. No one else dared. This has to be one of the most beautiful snow covered places I have ever witnessed. This is truly heaven on earth. This is a must do. I have always felt helicopter rides are overrated, this one is not. I would do it again.

When I called to report them as missing, I was told that only my case was found. Mind you, my sunglasses were left in the case inside a locked storage unit provided by Temsco Helicopters. Ergo, if they have my case, they must have my glasses. Autumn, the supervisor who helped me, is a complete liar. I told her I would be happy to provide a return label for my case, but she told me she would handle it. It's July 2025 and I do not have my case. This business is not trustworthy and does not deserve your support. Too bad because the glacier is beautiful! Thankfully, you can go with a different company that won't steal or lose your stuff!

From exploring the beautiful, and very easy and manageable forest walk to the glacier and lake where our group was led by Lynne who was super informative and fun, to then a boat cruise where we got to get close and see so many humpback whales breaching and then to the surprise of the crew a number of Orca also breaching. We have been going to Shelter Lodge every other year for 20 years. This is an update of a review…read morethat I wrote in 2010. I cannot believe it but since writing my review, it has gotten even mo betta. They have totally rebuilt their lodge and nearly all of their cabins. They have a beautiful dining area and decking all around. They have a new utility/changing room where they check you in and outfit you with your rain gear. The dining experience continues to be truly outstanding with Chef Kenny designing, preparing and presenting incredible meals that rival dining experiences of five-star restaurants. Fishing continues to be outstanding with expert guides who put you on the fish. The best and most noteworthy attribute continues to be their wonderful hospitality.

We just had the trip of a lifetime using this company! They've taken a yacht and divided it into 4…read morestaterooms, plus rooms for captain. They have more bathroom than bedrooms! With their wealth of experience, we traveled from Juneau to Sitka, Alaska filled with one of a kind experiences. We were taken to areas filled with lots of sea lions and puffins, a different area with mountain goats and their babies, and hiking areas. Probably the most spectacular was watching whales! Orca whales breeching out of the water. One whale got his entire body out of the water three times! Another day we were among humpback whales hunting together by bubble net feeding. The whales work together in a closing circle blowing bubbles forcing schools of fish together before the whales then swim up through the fish catching them in their mouths. To see groups of over a dozen doing this is fantastic! On a par with those two was coming up close to a glacier watching for calving while being served hot chocolate spiked with peppermint schnapps. While at that spot, we pulled in with nets very small pieces of floating glacier that was chipped up into smaller pieces to put in our drinks!! Lots of otters and bald eagles everyday. On a few days we got tandem kayaks out which was so relaxing especially in the glorious surrounding such as when we got close to some waterfalls. Everyday we saw lots of cute sea otters and bald eagles. One day we fished off the boat and on two days we put out crab pots, caught dungeness crab and had them for two sumptuous meals. Speaking of meals, all of them we magnificent! The chef, Debbie, seemed to be in the kitchen most of the day preparing these masterpieces. Fresh flowers were abundant on board, as well as snack baskets filled with different chocolate, candy, chips and snacks. Everyday was a new thrill. This was an unforgettable experience!
