Staff is always friendly. The store is nice and organized and fun to look around. They have a great selection of items for a great price.

Yes it's old looking, but it's immaculately clean and neat as a pin. The store is very well stocked with wide clutter free aisles. The cashier we interacted with with cheerful and pleasant. We got our usual Ocean State bargains on breakfast cereal and Polar soda, and picked up dozens of other things we didn't know we needed. read more

Reminds me of a Christmas tree shop. Cheap items, not the best quality. They do have some name brands such as: soft soap, head and shoulders, dove, etc. I always got the same vibe as Walmart. Doesn't seem to be as clean as you'd hope a store would be. read more

This store is essentially a regional Big Lots, which I've always been impressed with, so it's no surprise that one can find some really great stuff here at fantastic prices. The deals on food are particularly good, especially if you are looking for specialty and/or imported products. One pound of gluten-free, brown rice pasta for only $2.00? Yes, please! You can get some of the best stuff if you sign up for their weekly email, which comes with deeply-discounted coupons. Also, the staff members at this OSJL, in particular, seem to be a lot less high strung than those working at the OSJL closer to my home. As for the negatives... (1) NOT everything here is a great deal. For the price conscious shopper, you should be diligent while shopping here so as not to buy into believing that everything is cheap at OSJL! (2) Since OSJL has started accepting manufacturer's coupons, the cashiers have become incredibly picky about them. You find the same thing at Dollar Tree stores, so maybe it's a discount store thing. For instance, if you hand over a manufacturer's coupon at the register, expect to hold up the line because your cashier will read every last word to make sure it doesn't go against any store, sale, or discount policy. At this location, I was using two identical coupons that stated "one coupon per person", so I was forced to ring up two separate transactions...even though the price of each item after the coupon was $0.00! At another OSJL location, I once handed over a coupon that was only valid for toilet paper packages of 12 rolls or more. The cashier physically counted the rolls of toilet paper in the package! The one saving grace for this OSJL location is that they take internet coupons that are printed in black and white, while other OSJL stores only accept them if they are printed in color. This is my favorite Job Lot. Clean an neat store. They seem to always have items that are on sale. This review based on years of visits. The last trip there, an associate named Tamara went way out of her way to find our item. I hope with all tax savings employees will get a bonus. read more

I love ocean state job lot. If you see something that interests you, buy it, you may not see it again. Large food selection. Foil pans at a great price. I always find the best cookbooks here. Every trip is a new shopping adventure. read more

I purchased an area rug and put it in my trunk. As I pulled onto Route 6, it fell out. My fault for not securing it. However, someone pulled over and put in their pick up truck. I went back to the store and asked the manager to keep a lookout out for it, thinking someone would try to return it since it had an Ocean State Job Lot tag on it. She was rude, and gave me an attitude,. I can't figure out why Ocean state job lot told me they had a no questions asked returns policy and couldn't ask someone returning the same area rug I lost (documented through a police report) when I tried to return merchandise at the Griswold store TWICE with a receipt and was given an attitude and a hard time because the ink on the receipt had faded. I complained to corporate, but they never responded.. They hire morons with their heads up their asses and don't care about customer service. RUDE RUDE RUDE DUMBASSES! read more
