    The storefront for Oceana Coffee.
    Jan-Michael T.

**INITIAL REVIEW** I will admit that Oceana Coffee (which I will shorthand simply to Oceana for the remainder of this review) was a stop I made by happenstance. On this day, I was having an adventure at both John Dickinson State Park and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. However in between both locations, I made a stop for coffee. And fortunately for Oceana, it was highlighted as it is one of the coffee shops recognized by the Florida Cafe Passport. I had to go in and try their coffee... and I am glad I did. Though an address is provided, Oceana is located on the south end of the 150 Fashion Mall (that is what the strip mall is literally called). For subsequent visitors, this would not be a problem, but if you are going anytime close to my review, take note the mall is still open despite all the renovation. Prior to entering, Oceana does have an outdoor seating arragement with simple chairs and tables and a couple of plants for some decor and color. However, I went during the summertime in Florida, which meant it was too hot to stay outside. Inside, the vibe is definitely a mix of the love for the oceans and Australia. As a matter of fact, Oceana is a part of the Pacific Ocean that is close to, you guessed it, Australia. Makes sense if you ask me. Though roomy, Oceana definitely packed the space for maximized seating. Some of the chairs are tight squeezes with other chairs. Take note of that if you are of a bigger size such as I. The coffee selection is delicious, but seems limited in order to keep the staffing to just one person behind the counter at times. The food selection is also a bit small but once again, utilized for a one-person staff. I ordered a meal, dessert, and coffee: brekky sandwich, chocolate croissant, and flat white. Starting with the brekky sandwich (which is Aussie for breakfast sandwich), it is your simple egg, sausage, and cheese on English muffin. Comes with a balsamic vinnegerette salad. Good but a little pricey. As for the croissant, I got that because the Florida Cafe Passport suggested their "French food." However, the croissant is the only French thing they have... well from what I saw. It was good, but the "French food" was kinda lacking. Finally, the coup de resistance, the Flat White. I love Flat Whites and they did a phenomenal job making this one. I would definitely rank this up there in flavor. They pretty much stuck to the formula and did not stray. Get that right, you'll always get my praise. Ultimately, my time at Oceana was a-okay. What really rounds it out is the waitress/counter girl. She did everything on her own and was very kind. She even helped me pick stickers to purchase since I am a sticker collector, and luckily for me, Oceana has official stickers, many of them actually. Ultimately, I am going to give this mom n' pop coffee shop that was featured in the Florida Cafe Passport my highest rating for a mom n' pop: four out of five stars. The fifth star is always for consistancy and if they are consistant, I will give it to them in an updated review.

Great service, the barista was very friendly and informative. The small little mom and pop coffee shop is owned by an Australian couple. Make sure you ask about their coffee journey in America. It is an interesting one. Unfortunately, no gluten-free pastries at this time but we are trying the peanut butter protein bites. They do have non dairy milk, though!

So incredibly bad. The girl in there had no idea what she was doing. Found out they ran out of ice after the drink was made and we had paid. Not worth it would not go back.

After lunch at a nearby restaurant our friend suggested an after meal coffee. Oceana is his favorite coffee shop in the area. I ordered a cold brew and the coffee was very good. When I finished the cold brew I noticed the ice cubes made from coffee , a nice touch. When I went inside to use the restroom I mentioned how I liked the coffee ice cubes. The barista thanked me and gave me a refill, nice! My friend was right, good coffee....

    Charming displays of coffee bags?

I had the strangest experience at Oceana Coffee today! I have heard lots about this local company's coffee, and I've wanted to check out their cafes for a while now. I received a flyer in the mail telling me how amazing their award-winning coffee is, along with coupons for wine, their monthly coffee pass, and a bag of coffee. My husband and I decided to pick up a much-touted bag of coffee and also try out this non-chain coffee shop. It was a little off the beaten path but easy enough to find once we spotted a helpful sign along the road. It took us a bit to get inside, because of that alarming 'fire' smell we thought might be coming from our car . . . nope! It was just the interesting smell of the coffee roasting inside the shop. Pretty cool to be tempted long before going inside. The place is small, but nicely put together. Comfortable-looking couches, high top tables and chairs, sealife photographs on the wall by a local artist, a giant map of the world; very inviting. There is even a corner of kids toys and books! Apparently they have good wi-fi, and I was hoping this could be a future remote workspace. Thus, I was impressed to find a table in the center of the small seating area completely taken over by paperwork and a laptop, minus the laptop owner. 'Someone actually uses the cafe as their workspace, and trusts this place enough to leave their laptop unattended: wow!' I thought. The coffee roaster is a hip kelly green, located right there in the seating area. A man in a 'Oceana Coffee' shirt was moving the beans around and using the machine; I found this cool to watch. My husband asked the very nice barista where we could find the coffee bags. A couple of folks came in and out quickly to get their cups of coffee and go. The pastry display was kind of sad. The day's remaining pastries sat unlabeled and unpriced in a small, plain display on the countertop, next to a very well-labeled display of vegan dessert balls. If they have other food items, I did not see this. In some photos from past reviews, I saw more food displays with more appetizing items. Upon checking in, I found a check-in offer; I was excited to use a Yelp check-in offer for the very first time! I showed my phone to the barista, who (very nicely) informed me that Oceana does not accept these offers, that others have tried to use this as well. I was surprised; this is a business in little old mostly un-Yelped Tequesta that has a decent number of Yelp reviews and check-ins, plus a Yelp sticker by the front door. A woman walked closer, looked at my phone, and told the barista that actually Oceana does accept these offers. Apparently this was the business owner? She wore nothing to indicate this, and she did not introduce herself. She was very nice, and I felt terrible for the barista, who seemed flustered. Not cool, of course, for the owner not to tell their employee about this! Not the barista's fault in any way. The barista handed me a paper coffee cup and (understandably) exited the counter area. My husband and I were left to ourselves to find the self-serve coffee; I never found the milks. The owner proceeded to walk a few more steps and sit down at the busy workspace table in the center of the cafe. Thus, although the barista disappeared, both the owner and the roaster stood right there and did not offer to help us. Nor did they say . . . anything?! Although I took pictures for my review, the owner and roaster did not try to engage my husband and I at all: I never learned about their coffee, their wine situation, or their monthly pass. I would have liked to stay, but there was no way I was going to sit down a few feet from the owner's workspace to hang out. On the one hand, I found this off-putting and awkward. On the other hand, if it was my business, maybe I'd want to use my cafe as my workspace also?! If this woman had not intervened with the Yelp situation, I would not have know she was the owner; perhaps I might have felt more comfortable to stay. I want to support local businesses and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I am a sucker for an eclectic cafe in a strip mall, and I love random conversations with strangers; it would not have taken much to convince me that Oceana Coffee is the bomb and that I should return . . . or at least stay long enough to drink my coffee! Unfortunately, today it was not to be. Oceana has a loyal customer base, so this must be a fluke: everyone has an off day. I hope to update my review in the future. I will check out their other cafe first. Disappointing that no music played inside. Maybe the roaster was too loud? I do appreciate the owner correcting the Yelp check-in situation.

Oceana is my go to place in Tequesta for coffee and meeting place for work. The staff are excellent and the coffee is really on point. They have two locations in Tequesta. One on Dixie for roasting as well as selling, and the second is off A1A. The atmosphere is super chill and relaxed. They are pretty into the local scene which is huge! Every so often they have a local business kind of day where local businesses can come and showcase their products. My business partner and I were fortunate enough to be a part of this when it started and we were able to meet people from all over the community! If you're interested, reach out to Robert who's the manager. Cool dude. During these events they also bring in a local food truck or two which is a huge plus! If you're in the area, stop by and check them out! Stay Salty My Friends!!!!

This spot is set back from US-1. I wish I had more time to explore their menu!! I was really excited to see the different brewing methods they had (chemex, coffee siphon). The vibes inside were upbeat and cozy and I loved all the featured art they had (woohoo pre-IB photographers!). I ordered an iced vanilla latte with macadamia nut milk (how cool & unique). Of course it was delicious & I thought it was neat that she steamed the milk and shook it with ice versus just adding chilled milk for an iced latte. Jackie (I think was her name) was so sweet! My mom doesn't always know how to order her coffee, asking for a latte with their featured Mexican brew but Jackie offered to grind the beans for her. What Mom meant was a simple café au lait. They have tons of seating! We left smiling and caffeinated!

Amazing! Freshest roasted coffee ever in the whole world! Must stop in and try a cup! Only local roaster in Northern Palm Beach county, freshest cup, full espresso bar, all natural pastry treats, excellent customer service

Completely undrinkable and utterly disappointing for a much anticipated afternoon iced coffee.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more After I finished my work for the week, I thoroughly enjoyed my Friday exploring out and about around Jupiter, FL. Though I have been out before, there is still plenty to explore, plenty to enjoy, and plenty to learn about. Given how much I have been doing, it would happen I would need a Cup of Joe along with some good cafe-style treats. This is where Oceana Coffee comes in. Not only was it on the way to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum (where I would have my fun today), but it was featured in the Florida Cafe Passport. I have to say, I am very happy the passport took me here. For starters, the coffee was on point, and the food was great, but Trisha was the one who pulled it all together for a first time experience I truly enjoyed. Though an address is provided, Oceana Coffee (which I will simply shorthand to Oceana for the remainder of this review) is located in the Fashion Mall a 150, on the west side of US-1 halfway between Jonathan Dickinson State Park and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. Right now, the strip mall is going through an overhall on its awning, but all the stores are open. Oceana is located at the southern part of the strip mall. There is some seating outside, but it was way too hot to sit out in the Florida humidity. Upon enterining, the ambiance is that of an upscale coffee bar blended with Aussie and ocean themes. The pictures of sea turtles on the wall compliment the ocean hues as well as the furniture being themed from sea port wood but upscaled in style. The coffee and food selections were simple and the Cafe Passport did not help. Ergo, I had help from Trisha, the beautiful lady working behind the counter that day, to help me decide. Ultimately, I realized the owner must be an Aussie with all the Australian slang used. The Flat White was prepared "Fair Dinkum" style, and they had a "Brekky Sandwich." Definitely got both of those as well as a chocolate croissant because the one suggestion from the Florida Cafe Passport was the "French-style breakfast." The pictures will detail my food offerings, but I will say it was very delicious. And to top it off, Trisha was right on top of everything. While I was doing computer work, there was a rush and she was the only one at the counter. She handled herself very well. After all of that, she even helped me choose some stickers for purchase... which I ended up getting five for my sticker book. On a sidenote, there is one unisex restrooma and one women only restroom. I kind of find that smart as women do take twice as long as men to use the restroom in general. And the unisex restroom was clean, too. Overall, this was a fantastic outing at one of the coffee cafes I've been wanting to go to. If I am around and about the area, I will definitely go back if I want more coffee, and of course hope Trisha takes care of me again.
