We've stayed here a couple of times before but it was closer to their opening. This is the sister resort to Ocean Beach club (next door) and has been maintained in a better way although there are some signs of aging. We had a 2 bedroom Ocean view suite with full kitchen & somehow, to our surprise, the view was just as good as ocean front -with a balcony in both rooms. Room was in good shape and we didn't have any of the maintenance issues we had with our stay at the Ocean Beach Club. Parking garage is not as close as it is to the OBC (about a block away) That said, the beach area in front of this resort wasn't crowded the entire week which was a plus. They don't have a Fitness room but the OBC fitness room is available-a short walk next door and on the 17th floor. We liked the adult only Aqua pool area and unfortunately the 9th floor sun deck was closed all week for a private event (although we didn't see any activity). Overall, right on the beach & people at the counter and throughout were friendly and service minded.

I've had several things I did not like about this place or that was irritating. First off, the parking is difficult and horrendous. The entrance of the place is like a circle and should be one way. However, when we came, a car was parked in the way and facing the opposite direction, causing a back flow and major frustration to many people especially with the tropical storm on the way. It's supposed to be a loading and drop off zone I believe. Some of the cars are maybe parked there for valet but valet shouldn't be taking that long especially after being handed the keys. Valet is I believe $8/day, not worth it if their free parking is like a block and a half away. The resort gives you a parking pass/card where you put the card to the machine in the parking garage. They don't actively enforce wearing masks, and they also don't have a limit in the elevators. Someone should be at the lobby enforcing a limit to the number of people allowed or at the very least have a sign for it. The sign that I have seen tells people that they must wear masks in public spaces, but I have seen several people not do so. Some people also ignore the footprint signs on the floor and overpack the elevator. They also need hand sanitizer stations especially with people using the carts for luggage and elevators. The luggage carts are also very hard to steer, heck it can't even go in a straight line for one yard. I hope they sanitize the carts too; they do not state this policy. The people who did help us were nice. When our fridge was leaking, the man (bens? Vance? Vence? Bentz? | I didn't quite catch his name) was very nice and was not aggressive or salty when explaining the issue. He answered my parents' questions nicely and told us that the people who were cleaning it must have defrosted the fridge. He put a towel down to soak up the water. Also when we asked the front desk if they had complimentary items, she said nicely that they did have toothbrushes but not toothpaste. Luckily we had toothpaste but not toothbrushes, so that was a big help. I am skeptical regarding their policy to cleaning things. I found hair in the bed. My room had a loud booming/humming sounds maybe from the AC? It's enough to give me a headache. It's a constant annoying deep sound. As someone who travels a lot, I'm absolutely upset that this happened and this is the first time anything of the sort has happened. Our balcony was directly connected to someone else's. If we turn to the right, then we get the "ocean view."

Penthouse 18th floor view. It came with three balconies

I would love to give this place 5 stars but alas I cannot. The staff is wonderful. Especially Lex at the front desk she was amazing and one of the reasons I didn't give you three stars! Lex gave me recommendations for shrimp tacos, she remade my cards every time they got deactivated, and she let me know when my crabs came from Maryland! She's the best! Parking: Now onto the parking. Why do I have to pay $12 a day for parking and why is it 2 blocks away? These are things you must take into consideration when booking this timeshare. The elevator in the parking garage was hit or miss. Sometimes it worked and well sometimes it didn't and I had to walk down the 5-6 flights of stars. The hotel must have been at 100 percent capacity because I could never find parking until the 4th or 5th floor. The room: The suite was really nice with all the bells and whistles. It has a full kitchen and table with seating for ten. three balconies, two bathrooms, a living room with seating for 15, surround sound and jetted tubs. The works. But the place was not well kept. When we arrived it needed lightbulbs replaced, the freezer didn't work, the tub in the master suite never held water for more than 15 minutes and there was sand from the beach in every corner! Every corner which lead me to believe that they just swept the sand into the corners and called it clean. I understand that good help is bard to get. I owned a commercial cleaning company for 15 years and cleaning is one of the most thankless jobs, but for the penthouse you have to do a thorough job. It's just expected for the price range. The views were great and everything we called or complained about was taken care of in a timely fashion. I ended up staying the last few days at another diamond resort. I would probably stay here again because of the great staff. It reminded me of being on a cruise.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. The valet are crazy nice and such gentlemen both of them. One of the best things this place has, is the view from the pool and spa, yes it could be bigger as a lot of people ask, but to me and my party was big enough and we even have more room for people. I'm not giving 5stars because inside "their welcome package" they try to sell timeshare, not hate but I did not like it. I will definitely book another vacation with them.

    Flies everywhere!!! (Pool bathroom)

Has cockroaches. Their was a cockroach in the lobby when we checked in, we had a cockroach in our sleeping room, and had them on our balcony. I have been coming to the Oceanaire for about the past 15 years and this year the are everywhere. Not sure if this is up to HILTONS standards but it's not meeting my standards.

Staff was efficient, friendly & very attentive. Very clean rooms. Spacious & modernized. Very convenient location. Anything you need is within walking distance. Beach was not over crowded nor was the pool. Great experience, will definitely return!

Pretty nice resort, our group had a few 2 bedroom suites and there was plenty of space. Each bedroom had its own bathroom attached with a living and dining space. The jacuzzi... just put your feet up and grab a drink cuz it's time to relax! No kids allowed in the adult pool but there's two pools connected for the kids with sprinklers and mini water splashes all over the place. I could see them clean the beach every morning and this is probably the BEST thing about our stay, (maybe most ppl know but we had no idea) if you wake up around 7-8am there's a family of dolphins that just jump in and out of the water all morning! I mean amazing to see each day! One day we counted at least 7 of them, so if you stay here you must have an ocean front view!

Completely disappointed with our recent stay. We called an hour out to check if our room was available. We were told that our room was ready. When we arrived we checked in and got our room key. Upon opening the room door you could instantly see that nothing was cleaned. There looked like soda had been exploded on several walls and the ceiling. There were fingerprints all over the glass and stains running down the cabinets, food in the microwave, hair in the soap dish and tub, floors weren't vacuumed, there were hairs on the head board and something sticky on the back of it and the night stand, including in the night stand drawer. The only thing that had been done in the room was the bed made and towels put in the bathroom. We immediately went downstairs and told the girl and the front desk. We asked for a different room and she told us they were overbooked and all they could do was send someone to clean the room. While we were waiting for housekeeping we went down to speak to the manager and show her pictures so she knew just how dirty it was, she didn't care at all and just told us someone would be there as soon as they could. While we were at the front desk we overheard other guests talking about how dirty their rooms were as well. One woman said she was waiting for a shower curtain since 9am, it was 3pm. We went up and waited about an hour for housekeeping. A nice young man showed up and we showed him things that needed cleaned. He was nice and cleaned what we showed him but nothing more. He didn't bring a vacuum or do any thorough cleaning other than what we specified but he did do a nice job and that was very polite. After the room was "cleaned" and we unloaded our things we went to move our vehicle to the parking garage. The garage cards they gave us upon checking in were expired and we had to return to get new cards to park. Again, no apology, just an, "oh I don't know why it says they're expired." There is zero customer service at this resort!! I wouldn't stay here again if it was free and wouldn't have stayed this time if we hadn't already paid for the room.

Do not come here! It is extremely overpriced, and the service is terrible. The wifi speeds are nonexistent. The maids service costs extra, and cant be trusted. My aquarium tickets were stolen. I complained about the horrible internet speeds, and the front desk told me the weather was at fault. That somehow having clouds messed with the wifi. Various lights are burnt out in the room, drapes have stains, and appliances show heavy use. The fridge is stainless steel, but somehow there are huge dents in it. It also looks like someone from the other room tried to break into mine. The door hinge is completely broken.

NOTHING AS TO WHAT I EXPECTED FOR THE PRICE AND THEIR REPUTATION. We just checked in, and so far.. nothing to my expectations. Very Overpriced. Room is guarantee for 4pm. Its 4:10, valet denied us a luggage cart. The hotel is very overpriced, I get that it is nice, room suite is huge and accommodated our party of 7. Pools are nice so the kids did enjoy them. The aqua 21 pool was nice for adults only however the nice decor of lights they have above the pool are dirty and disgusting loaded with dead bugs and dirt everywhere. The outside bar is extremely extremely overpriced for literally cups of juice with a splash of alcohol. $13!! If you ask to modify the drink they won't, or their response is "let me see if i can do that cause it's more expensive" ??? The food not that great either. If I do return I hope our stay is more enjoyable than this one. Also, we noticed a poop stain on our sheet the day we arrived. Not at all what I expected. :(

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

We selected this spot because…read moreit was dog-friendly and relatively cheaper (with decent reviews) compared to other pet-friendly hotels on the boardwalk. Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

The housekeeping staff does a meticulous job cleaning each room after the guests leaves. Throughout our nearly 6 months stay, Jerome and Herbert in particular have really gone out of their way to keep our stay here feel like home. For example, when our A/C unit failed in the middle of murky summer, Jerome replaced the entire unit right away. I have also had trouble handling the incredible humidity I've not experienced since leaving Japan. But thank goodness for Jerome again --he ensured I had a really good dehumidifier that also helped muffle noises as well. I cannot emphasize enough on what a truly instrumental role he had played in keeping my whole family feel comfortable. I find that especially noteworthy because we were there for quite awhile. The Lodge location is steps away from the Dam Neck Naval Base Beach and the sunrise is beautiful. It also has a kitchenette that is fully functional to cook a good meal unless you need an oven. The fridge is big enough to put in whatever you need and the stove is easy to cleanup. The cabinets are stuffed with everything you'd find in a kitchen. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, wine openers, wine glass, dish rack, soap and sponge. You name it, they have it. And this is what really makes the stay better than being over at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) if you are here for awhile-- especially if you are like me and prefer to cook your own meals, staying at the Lodge is a MUST. And if you have pets, the Lodge is also AN ABSOLUTE must. One of the great things about Navy Lodge Oceana is how pet friendly it is. Our two beagles loved the area and there are 3 receptacles on-site to keep doggie poo thrown out. Keep in mind that it is a high tick and flea area so ensuring they get brushed after a walk is a must! Well, not unless you like to shriek like me when I found two ticks on my laptop thanks to my dog ubering them inside. And just for the record, both dogs also take Nexgard and Heartgard monthly. Now the NGIS might work beautifully for those who are in the Dam Neck /Oceana area for short term stay, or ok with eating takeouts every day because you don't cook, and /or doesn't have pets. Or that they'd prefer the nicer furniture or less noise to deal with. I've stayed at both and NGIS is far easier to make reservations for leisure and their beds are very comfortable. In sum, I had a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning every chances I get. For $75/night, the rates are exceptional and the location is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to everyone. -- Cons: Elevator--The building has no elevator. So if you have loads of luggages, you will need to take it to your room upstairs using the staircase. Reservation --Making reservation here can be pretty easy if you are staying because of TAD/TDA/PCS orders. For leisure traveling, you'd have better luck at the NGIS or other nearby civilian operated hotels. The leisure travel can be only made 7 days ahead of the stay. And chances are, you are 99% likely to be told they have nothing for vacancies, or they have something for just 1 day out of a 7 day trip or something very inconvenient. WiFi--The WiFi here can be spotty, nonexistent, or extremely slow. If there's someone playing video games in the evening, you can tell right away and you have a bad night ahead of you if you need the Internet. It'd be far less frustrating to get Internet connection elsewhere. Also, the cellphone data connection here is also rather lousy. So no, using data won't help with watching YouTube or something else. If you need to make a call, you'd also have better luck by going outside. You'll see bunches of other sailors or marines pacing and walking around sometimes for the same reason. Noise level--You can hear just about everything from your surroundings. Toilet flushing, heart stopping door slams, other dogs barking all day, people's conversations and/or TV sounds all hours of day, jets, gunshots from the swamp side, housekeepers cleaning , anything in the hallway, etc. Privacy Please sign on the door doesn't mean much either. So if your next door guest has his alarm go off at 0500 and well into 0800, nobody can or will do anything about it. Well, not unless Herbert is working in the morning. He was the only person who was willing to intervene after multiple other lobby staff refused to help. Try imagining the alarms making a loud incessant beeping the entire time behind your headboard at 0500 on a Sunday for 3+ hours while the other guest somehow sleep through it or not even be there over the weekend! My point is, if you are sensitive to noise stimuli, or dislike wearing ear plugs, I don't recommend staying here.
