This is the first time I have ever reviewed an electrician, because past electrical service with other electricians was dismal, at best. But Oceanside Electric raised the bar so high, I wanted others to know about them! This is a first-class company, with customer service their main priority. From the moment I contacted them, it has been a delightful experience. They make your appointment, show up on time, provide email confirmations for your visit and bill - you always know where you stand with Oceanside. The two electricians who performed the work were professional, responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. Even when John, the owner, came to prepare my estimate, and one of my big problems was the light over my makeup table was out, and I was having to put on my makeup in the den. This was worse than not having AC or heat!!! While he was there doing the estimate, John took the time to look at the switch, replace a bad switch, and voila! OceanSide Electric is an outstanding company! A light bulb popped in a closet underneath my stairs, so I was worried about a fire. My condo is 45 years old, and the fixtures are original. Secondly, I have a 48 inch fluorescent light bulb in the kitchen that never seems to stay on, which is frustrating. Austin arrived on time! He replaced the entire ceramic piece that holds the light bulb into the wall, underneath the stairs. The bulb is an LED, and is much brighter. He substituted the kitchen light for the slimmer, and more attractive LED. Wow, what a difference in brilliance! He said OceanSide Electric can easily replace all of my fluorescent bulbs as they stop working, or all at once. Austin is very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. We had a great experience with John from Oceanside. We recently moved into a new home in the area, and had a few outlets that weren't working, and needed some cable run into a bedroom. They set up an appointment quickly, and John was here right on time. He quickly figured out the problem with the outlets, and had them all working in no time. He gave us some options for the running the wire which were much better than what the cable company had advised, and neatly and quickly ran the cable for us. He then took the time to answer a few questions that we had, and helped us figure out how some of our landscape lighting worked. The cost for all this was very reasonable. We have already scheduled another appointment to get some of our landscape lighting in shape, and we expect to be using Oceanside for all of our future electrical needs. read more

I first met John when I was convinced, after a "thorough" investigation, that one can light in our new house was simply faulty. Turns out it was simply on a different switch, but John is patient with idiots (I've tested that 2 more times). Beyond that, and more importantly, Oceanside returns your calls, keeps their appointments, provides solid advice.....just what you would hope for. Just completed a fairly substantial project to replace those can lights with ultra-thin LED's (John's recommendation) and put that single stupid light on a switch with others. First time in 21 years on Hilton Head Island that I needed an electrician, I called the company recommended more than others on NextDoor by a factor of three, and understand now why all the positive reviews. John Frey Of Oceanside Electric did great job for me. He was referred by a neighbor who is very careful and when she recommends someone I trust her. John handled three projects for me after my home purchase. 1) interior wiring for fixtures that had been previously wired incorrectly. 2) Landscape lighting for the front of the home. 3) Rewiring outdoor fountain that was also incorrectly installed by others. Customer service to the umpteenth degree! John came to my condo for a fan issue, told me the fan was not going to be able to be fixed. i am a renter so he had to go through the property manager. He got a new and improved fan with a light, and I was notified right away. I was given an appointment, and called with a more specific time that day. Oceanside did a great job on a very hot and humid day. Power had to be turned off for 5+ hours. We had a new panel box installed, and as I watched, it looked like a "Giant impossible jigsaw puzzle" with numerous wires being matched up. The guys were very professional and friendly.
