This is a nice, smaller harbor area that's perfect for walking around, grabbing a bite to eat, shopping, or even doing activities like whale watching tours. It has a relaxed, scenic vibe that makes it enjoyable to spend some time exploring. There's plenty of parking available, with several paid lots nearby, but it can get pretty hectic on weekends. We parked about halfway between the harbor and the beach, which worked out great, we were able to enjoy some time at the beach first, then walk over to the harbor to eat, shop, and enjoy the scenery. We love driving here during weekdays because weekends are packed and parking is hard to find! Today Monday it was very lite no crowds! We walked a little and ate lunch looking at the marina! Lots of bird hanging around waiting for handouts ha ha! The shops and eating places are fun to visit! To was cool at 67 normally it's in the 70s. read more

I recently visited Oceanside in June 2024. On the day of check-out, I took a nice early morning stroll over to Oceanside Harbor Village. It was less than 10 mins of walking from where I was staying at to get here. It is a small village, but has a very quaint and intimate vibe to it. It's a local community of businesses offering waterfront dining to sport fishing to stand-up paddle boarding to unique gift shops. Just to name a few... D'Vino Cafe & Wine Bar, Harbor Fish and Chips, Lighthouse Seafood Market, Nana and Pop Pop's Sweet Shop, Rockin' Baja Lobster Coastal Cantina, Tony's Sports Bar and Grill... Helgren's Sportfishing, Oceanside Boat Rentals... Harbor Gift Shop, Wave Original and more. On my way back to the resort, I picked up some breakfast from Tony's Sports Bar and Grill (I will do a separate review on this one soon)... excellent yummy foods and portions were huge... must and will go back for more next time! LOL The most exciting aspect of this harbor village is that it's right along side Oceanside Beach. How cool is that! There is paid parking available. Just a perfect place for family and friends to enjoy quality time and beautiful moments together! read more

What a quaint and cute little harbor to visit in Oceanside! I don't come here often, but each time I do, it always puts a smile on my face! The harbor isn't very big, but it's still nice to look at all of the docked boats and walk along the outskirts. You can shop and dine here, as there are a few restaurants and even a sweets shop! I skipped it this time around but might check it out next visit. If you're looking for a place to calm your mind, take a leisurely stroll around the harbor. Enjoy the sunset if you go in the evening. There are multiple parking lots around so you shouldn't have trouble finding a spot unless there's some kind of event going on. I highly recommend coming here if you haven't already. I've been making several trips to Camp Pendleton lately and Oceanside Harbor is right next to the entrance off the I-5. I've been staying in the hotels next to this little village and have gotten to know it quite well. The Village (which broke ground in 1964) is a community of businesses located within Oceanside Harbor that includes fishing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, gift shops and waterfront dining. Many of these places have been around since the early beginnings of this Harbor. There is also free parking if you get there early in the morning (they fill up quick). Oceanside beach is right next to the Village and has bathrooms, fire rings, rinse stations and tables. There are tons of docked sailboats in the Harbor. There are even some locals that even live on these boats. You will see people paddle boarding and kayaking in between the boats. The Village itself has a New England-style to it with several gift shops nestled within a variety of restaurants. There is even a six story mini lighthouse on the end that lights up at night. Nearby vendors offer whale watching, boat rentals, and stand-up paddle boarding experiences. For food, my personal favorite is Rockin Baja Lobster and their amazing seafood tacos and lobster buckets. The Lighthouse Oyster Bar, Joe's Crab Shack and Harbor Fish and Chips also offer seafood. Dominic's has Italian cuisine and Stratford at the Harbor has breakfast. If you are looking for a quick cup of coffee, Nautical Bean Co. opens up for the early risers. Overall, this has been an enjoyable place for me to hang out lately. It's got a lot of character to it and is a great place to chill after a fun day at the beach. read more

The harbor is a little area where you can walk around, walk over to the beach, rent a boat, go on a boat ride, get a bite to eat, or watch the sea lions frolicking around. There are some shops, coffee places, full restaurants, etc. Plenty of options to choose from. There is some free 2 hour parking, some paid parking, and there is an area right behind the harbor with plenty of free parking. During the holidays there is a holiday boat parade that brings in large crowds. There is also a harbor days festival that gets quite crowded and not easy to find parking so you can park closer to the pier and walk over. There are 2 jettys close by as well, that let you venture out closer to the ocean, walking on the large boulders that make up the Jetty. It can be slippery especially earlier in the morning, so be careful. read more

Oceanside has a nice Harbor Village, very quiet, calm, fun to explore. I came here for the X-mas boat parade, but also during day time to see the seals! Yes, they do have cute seals here, you have to walk a bit to see them, but they are lying in the sun, swim, a fun sight! This was one of my top reasons to check out this area! So you don't have to go to Pier 39 in San Francisco to see seals, Southern California has some, too! The harbor has your regular stores with cheesy souvenirs and not so great restaurants. There's also a coffee shop around, various restrooms, a big parking lot. And a cute lighthouse, another nice attraction for me that gives this harbor village more personality. If you're in Oceanside, check it out, the harbor village is a cute area where you can leisurely stroll, admire the nice views and the seals! read more

Oceanside harbor, my childhood home away from home. My dad was a boat mechanic so I was constantly running around this area and it's still fun to hangout there now as an adult. From the great restaurants to the boat charters, this is a great area for friends and family alike. Parking can be hard to come by but otherwise it's an incredible place for a fun day. read more

2.5 stars. I went here for the first time on a Friday in January. Coming for the first time is fine because it's all new and different scenery, however, I wish the area was more open and spacious to stroll through and I wish there were more shops. You're limited to walking along the narrow path perimeter along the outside border from one end to the other. Then as you're walking, there are a couple of very stinky areas...the strong stench of shellfish carcasses. It wasn't too crowded when I went, but I can imagine how cramped it would be to squeeze through everyone along that narrow path if it was any more crowded. Then there's an area where you can see some sea lions, but I'm quite surprised that there is no closed gate before having access to them. Although there's a sign stating to keep your distance from them, there's no one stopping anyone from walking right up to them and they could also walk right up the ramp where people are as well. They seem to just lounge around and are totally oblivious to people though. Overall, it was an OK time, but Shoreline Village in Long Beach and especially Seaport Village in San Diego are better harbor village areas and even they both need renovating. Just drive a little farther to San Diego. This place is quite a little drive from me, so it's definitely not worth returning. read more

Being a child who grew up in North County, I would go up to the Oceanside Harbor a lot with my family. This is where my love and appreciation for the ocean began and I am not complaining. As a child, I'd sit on the sliver railings and look down into the water and see the shore crabs scurrying along the rocks and see how many more I could find and beat my sister in a crab counting contest! The buildings have stayed the same, but the businesses have come and gone. One of my favorite places was an old seafood joint where they would literally have the freshest catches in their store. Everything from crabs in huge tanks and I would jump up to try to look in the water and through the bubbles to see what I could see. I just loved it... everything down to the smell. If you head there now, you can look out and see paddle boarders, people kayaking in the harbor with their dogs, a small dock with people fishing, whale watching tours coming or going, and even a fishing boat docking being followed by a flock of pelicans or sea lions in the water. My time spent here in the Oceanside Harbor really shaped who I am today. I love the water and I love and will care for everything that goes into it. Single use plastics are not cool and nor are plastic bags. Try to save the world and in return, the world will do great things for us. read more

You can see the sea life in action while joining in on a boat or kayak. If you like to stay dry there are plenty of place a to get some food, drink or just relax and people watch. Nice place to take a stroll and/or get a bite to eat. Restaurants can have long wait times during peak hours so be sure to make reservations or get there early. There's a mix of restaurants and shops so you can definitely kill some time if need be. The shops are geared more for tourists who wish to buy souvenirs. If you start walking behind the main row of restaurants, you'll see a hallway leading you to more little shops (also less crowded than walking around the front). There is also a Kayak rental booth which can be very fun to do during the day. The coffee shop is pretty tasty- grab something cold or hot as you walk around. I wish they had better food options here. It is a nice place to hang out being that it is on the water and so pretty. They have a fish n chips place, all fried food pretty much. The fish and chips do look good but not the healthiest choice. There is a little ice cream place on the back side that has ice cream and lots of old school candy. Parking is tough here, very little parking close to the harbour, we usually we have to park on the back lot between this crazy small bridge that people and cars share. There is also the Crab Shack that we need to try next time. People paddle right out front by the boats which looks fun. read more

Watch out for the parking pass spots, the signs for motorcycle parking are not clear as the painted curbs in the ghetto are nicer than these! I have been down to eat at Joe's and Rockin Baja Lobster and walked around the shops many times, it's not the $58.00 ticket it's the point that when you park the signage is not clear. I'm not going to be going back to this harbor village not because of the establishments, but because of the city... The businesses are losing business because of the city! Not to far away from my timeshare I like coming down here for a quick walk and to grab some coffee on the pier walkway or a margarita at the bar. Its a very small pier but the ocean is just feet away which is the best part for a night time walk on the beach. Parking is always good. Everyone around the vendor booths and restaurants are friendly. No complaints! read more

The harbor is a laid-back section that combines the fishing lifestyle with the tourist attractions. There are many boats docked in the harbor, and you can walk around and dream about living or working on the water. It's an active harbor so, at times, you can see fisherman bringing in their catch of the day. There are currently resident sea lions that are also at the harbor so you can watch their aquatic acrobatics and hear their native calls.
