Fun fact, May is busy. Weddings, prom's, Bar Mitzvahs... it is all happening. Walking in a week before prom, I was concerned we were SOL but as long as we were ok with the traditional black tux, Sam's could make it happen. This was actually our first choice. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy. After wandering around, it appeared a line was forming so we lined up. However, after a few moments, a younger women approached asking how she could help. She measured, wrote up the order and and cashed us out in less than 10 minutes. She explained what the next step would be and we were on our way. I have tagged his mom and grandma in for pick up but based on past experiences with my boys and the efficient from last Saturday I have every confidence everything will be fine. TBH I have no idea how they compare to other tuxedo places, pricewise, but I think they have a great selection and the customer service is clearly a priority. Now that I am done with dressing young men for prom I will have to find some black tie events for my husband to take me to. :-) They have a very nice selection of mens clothing and they might do alternations, although I am not sure if that is just for purchase from them or if they take outside work as well. After I picked out two suits to try on he kept adding shirts, shoes, ties, etc. I made it very CLEAR I was only looking for a suit and NOT accessories, but that didn't seem to matter to him--he kept doing it anyway. When I asked him how much the shirts were, he refused to give me a price and only said,"I will give you a good deal on everything." In the end, this dude wanted to charge me $200+, to alter a suit ($45.00 at my tailor in northland mall for the same suit). the sales people are over-bearring and sneaky. They apply pressure tactics and fake-a$$ smiles to get you to buy what they want. Their prices are wayyy out of line; no wonder you will NEVER see a price tag on their shirts. They have a huge selection of suits and honestly without assistance we would have been overwhelmed. The store always very busy but the staff did a great job of balancing giving us attention and giving us space. They helped him choose a beautiful Italian wool navy suit that he could wear to the weddings and a dark green suit (I never would have thought he could pull of that color) for the less formal events. I had heard about it, but I had my regular places I went to for suits and nice clothes. I know where I will go from now on. There are so many brands of outstanding fashion designers for men there and the selection was endless. Everything was very reasonably priced. The colors and patterns were not typical of navy, black, and tan. They jumped right off the clothes. There were bright, vivacious colors that you don't see at Brooks Brothers or Bacharach. The only thing more impressive than the selection and quality of the clothing was the service I received. OMG, Wendy not only knew all the brands, how they fit, and what sizes were available, but it was like she could read my mind about what went well together and what would be comfortable for me. It was like she knew my measurements by just looking at me. The only issue I had was that I didn't allow myself enough time. I purchased some shoes; I was not walking out empty-handed, but I definitely will be coming back again, and again, and again. The thing I really enjoyed and appreciated was Wendy's attitude. She was dressed to the 9's, very professional, she knew the products in and out, she was informative and not salesy or pushy. I felt very comfortable and trusted her advice. By the way she was dressed, I knew she had the kind of taste I like in clothing. Sharp, neat, respectful, but also fun. If I'm honest, the cherry on the sundae was her smile. Apparently, they are related although this one is not for retail but you can register for membership. We did that and then my son and I did some shopping for him with the helpful of a salesperson. My son had just graduated and needed suits for his new job. We purchased two suits which had to be specially tailored for his weightlifting body (narrow waist, thicker thighs). There is a tailor on the lower level who can special tailoring for purchases made here. We ended up with two suits, shirts, ties, belt, shoes, and socks for much less than $2,000. I was very pleased and my son was very happy. When we came back to try out the tailoring, my son said it was the first pair of dress pants that actually felt comfortable for him and fit perfectly.
