First time customer. I stopped in to buy a new pair of work boots not knowing what to expect. The guys were awesome. I had never owned a pair of wedge soles before and they took the time to explain the differences in wedge material and leathers across the two brands I was comparing. I must have tried on six or seven pair as the sizing between the two brands was slightly different. The guys never complained or seemed put out. They were extremely helpful. As long as Chester Boot Shop is in business, I will never buy a pair anywhere else. As far as value, I would say that they are inline with any online retailer's pricing. Wow! We went to look for western boots and hats and we were immediately greeted with a big hello and how can we help. The hat selection was larger than I expected and found just the right hat and at an awesome price! On to boots and found a handsome pair of python that the husband loved. They looked like a pair he owned 35 years ago, but updated. The salesman was extremely helpful in helping him find his size. I am a line dancer and many of my fellow dancers talked about the great selection of western boots at Chester's so I finally made a trip over there. The selection was extensive and the prices seemed very reasonable. The salesman that waited on me was very helpful and patient. The reason for me only giving 4 instead of 5 stars is mostly because the salesman wasn't wearing a mask, and this was during a very risky time in the pandemic. I wore my last pair of western boots so that they could see what I like and how I "wear them" so to speak. I love the pair that I am replacing, and the only reason they are being replaced is because I just wore them so much that they are too sloppy for dancing. The new pair I got was a bit loose at the heel part and snug at the toes, but the salesman assured me that the situation is ideal for wearing once they are a bit worn in. I have only worn them once at this point, so I don't know how they will eventually fit, but they look great and I put mink oil on them as recommended by the salesman to protect them from the elements. read more

Family owned and operated since the 70s, the guys at Chester's can get you just about anything boot wise you may need. They special ordered me 2 pairs, and let me try on about a half dozen! Chester boot shop has a large selection of workboots, Harley Davidson boots, and so on. But enough of that. CB has THE largest selection of Doc Martens in the state! They have an entire room of the store dedicated to these awesome boots. Needless to say, the selection is second to none; I've purchased a total of 6 pairs of Docs from CB over the years; they've always been fairly priced (docs will run a little over $100 anywhere you go, or up to $150 if they're a posh store) I got a pair of cherry 20-eye boots for $116! I remember paying that a few years ago for a pair of 16-eye. I hadn't been into Chester Boot Shop for at least 20 years. My daughter was looking for some tactical boots and the Army Navy store didn't carry her size. Thankfully I remembered this place so we took a ride out to the East Side. Of course this place rocks. They had the exact boots she wanted and they were in her size. I don't need a discount here. Every pair of boots here is sold at a very fair price. What would be my discount at other stores is the price everyone pays here. Outstanding customer service. I needed to find strong replacement laces for my work boots and as silly as it sounds I couldn't find them anywhere anymore. The selection of laces in the bigger stores is all but gone.
