The Geek Squad had warned me that they probably would not be able to bring it back to life and I should be prepared to invest in a new laptop. Jay explained that the HP Envy I had was better constructed than newer models. He thought replacing the battery and the hard drive would solve my problems. On Sunday he called and said both the battery and the hard drive were in, the data was being transferred and I could pick up the laptop on Monday. It looked like a new machine. Long story short, the company ended up buying two keyboards that wouldn't work for my laptop. And then after they told me they couldn't do the job, I found an hour later that my USB chip for my mouse was gone. I'll give them credit, they drove 20 minutes to drop off the chip and were apologetic throughout the process. However, this does not take away from the fact that I felt that my experience was quite the headache and I had the increasing perception that the company lacked competence. Again, maybe I just had an unlucky experience, but personally I would not recommend this shop.
