This facility is a decent size, its sterile, but the TYPE of ppl who come here are what could possibly deter others from coming. The staff here for the most are pretty good and can find your vein stick you once without bruising you.. which makes the experience easier mentally. I go back to donate plasma and they make me get paperwork filled out by the doctor. Urgent care doctor wouldn't fill out paperwork so then I had to go to PCP. He filled out paperwork and said I was fine to donate but still wanted me to get a colonoscopy. $700, an urgent care visit, a PCP visit, a gastroenterologist visit, and a colonoscopy later, everything checks out that I'm perfectly healthy. But now because of the scope that was used in my colonoscopy, I'm deferred 4 months from donating plasma. So now I have no income from donating plasma plus now I owe $700 in medical bills. Crock of crap if you ask me. I won't be going back. I can't wait 4 months to figure out how to make ends meet.

They're also the best pat scale around. Unlike most places, if you give consistently the pay stays at a great rate. Based on weight, if I stay above 7 visits every 35 days, I get $60/visit. Sometimes it can be very busy; the staff is well organized in multi tasking and the group works in harmony together rotating roles to handle an array of situations to keep things moving smoothly. Today as I sat down to donate, 2 seats down a gentleman had a seizure, he had a prior condition. I observed staff members respond in an expedited and calm manner to stabilize the gentleman until First responders arrived. Quality and compassionate care.

Each time has been pleasant and professional, regardless of how many people are there to donate. Today, I made an 11:15 appointment online the night before (and I was glad I did-- there were only two available appointment slots all day long!). I didn't do the Fast Pass question-and-answer preparation beforehand. I have in the past, but this time I didn't feel like getting out my laptop. This time, however, they told me it can now be done on an iPhone, which will be good to know for my next visit. I was the only one there when I arrived, and two phlebotomists were working. While Latoya was getting me prepped, though, three more donors came in. All were handled quickly and efficiently. I was in at 11:15 and out at 12:15. No pain, no problems, just a pleasant experience I'll be happy to repeat in 8 weeks. Thank you, American Red Cross!
