    Ninja Nation Course
    Huong E.

We attended a birthday party there. Kids had a great time racing, climbing, and hanging around. Shoes and socks are required. They will let you rent them for $5. Variety of skills set needed for each obstacle. It's a lot harsher than it looks. You can buy snacks and drinks, but it's a limited selection. Establishment is clean and staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a crazy cool place! Today is their grand opening and the place is amazing! We had the chance to come out about a month ago and do their mobil obstacle course and had a blast! We couldn't get my 11 year old off! I think he did it about a dozen times! So couldn't wait for today! I am really looking forward to coming here and getting back in shape. I love that there are tons of things to do and there are obstacle courses for pretty much any level. The staff are awesome! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. If you have ever watched American Ninja Warrior or a similar show and wondered how you could get in on the action or maybe work your way up to it, this is the place to go.

My family and I are visiting from SA for our son's summer camp and found this place 3 minutes away, so we thought we would try it out since he loves all things ninja. He could not wait to get going. The check-in person was prompt and had him on his way in no time. The floor staff were attentive to him as he tried out different obstacles. He played non-stop for an hour and wished he could have stayed longer. Definitely a clean, well-organized, and fun place to let your ninja play and practice his/her skills.

    One of the challenges.

My kids had a lot of fun for the one hour they were there. They were worn out after their session. It is a great place to bring an active kid. There was a lot of staff which is helpful to make sure nobody gets hurt. The staff was also friendly.

Lots of variety!! Emily is great with my kids. Air conditioning much appreciated! This is a great location that is close to my children's school. The pricing is reasonable.

Kid approved. Great outing. Sure to keep the kids in the neighborhood happy, healthy and safe.

I had a really fun and great experience. It was adult and kid-friendly, where the courses are still challenging. It was also really nice of Antwan to spot me on the wall and showed the group how to navigate some of the courses. Highly recommended facility.

The best is Texas! My 5-year old daughter thrives here. The staff is the best with the kids and always offering up new challenges.

My daughter was in an after school girlstart class and just completed her one week online camp session. They had a zoom meeting in the morning followed by a daily project and another zoom meeting in the afternoon to talk about results. The girls engineered a rover to explore Mars, went over genetics, created a double helix dinosaur dna model and, built a light up logo. They also studied sutures for surgical procedures which they practiced on stuffed animal patients. The final project was to program an ozobot with color coded paths they designed on their own. Fortunately, the Austin Nature & Science Center ended up falling in the latter category. The main building houses an assortment of bones, shells, and rocks (as well as an axolotl tank) and another building is home to various reptiles. Outside areas include a dino pit (where kids can dig for fossils) and several animal enclosures. What makes the latter unique is that the animals are rehab/rescue cases. They include everything from a bobcat to a porcupine to a 34-year-old one-eyed owl (!!) and more. Granted, Austin Nature & Science Center does offer more for a younger crowd, and it isn't particularly easy to get to by bus, but it's hard to argue with a chance to take in flora and fauna for free.

Great FREE option in Austin for kids!…read more One of the best parts is you can see an axolotl (two, actually) in their visitor center building. Then you can head over to the birds of prey, the reptile/fish building, and the animal enclosures. There's also a little lake and a large sand pit (dino dig). There's a cool room in the visitor center that has all sorts of nature items (bones, dead bugs, shells, rocks, etc.). You can bring in your own stuff to trade! Is it a huge amount of things to do/see? No but for a free attraction, it's pretty great. Parking is across the street -- lot is shared with Zilker Park and all the nearby attractions so it can get busy.

The Music, Director and teaching…read morestaff as well as the General Manager and the office staff all work together very closely to ensure the best for each of their students seven days a week. They really care about their students and their program. My sons have had wonderful experiences at the school and have grown as people as well as musicians . Being a part of the SOR performance program has given them a sense of belonging as well as lifted their self-esteem. My eldest son was able to get a lucrative job, though he is still an older teenager due to his knowledge and hard work at SOR in addition to some other great qualities he has. SOR is a place where students up to 18 years old can be themselves and discover music and get a chance to perform in actual venues in this wonderful city that is so much defined by music. Adult students have the chance to learn instruments or singing that they may have always wanted to learn, but never had a chance, for others, it proves to be a great activity be where they can develop skills make friendships. They too get to perform in venues. All of the students have one-on-one lessons with professional musicians. I just can't say enough good things about it, and I know that my children are better for having been a part of the SOR family.

TLDR: The only good thing about this location is the teachers. They are incredible. However, the…read moredirectors at this location are extremely unethical in their practices, and they're following suit of the massive corporate chain above them. The teachers really are incredible. I know many kids have had a great experience because of them! They work hard and care about what they do. They also only make about $15/lesson, while parents are paying more than 5x that per lesson. That's at least $55 that goes... somewhere else.... These incredible teachers are refused benefits including health insurance. They are forced to apply for government assistance and charitable aid to get coverage. Indeed, there is a local nonprofit that provides assistance to musicians whose employers otherwise refuse to: HAAM. This location even unashamedly uses their students to fundraise for HAAM, showing the world what good philanthropists they are, while their own employees have to rely on them to afford health insurance. If your child does go there and shows enough talent or drive, they will be pressured to audition for the "B-Team." This is a great opportunity for kids to play gigs in front of audiences, especially if that's what they're passionate about. Unfortunately, however, this group of students is exploited and overworked. They are used as free marketing and labor at events, and the number of required weekends can be overburdensome and lead to burnout. Just be wary, and know a lot of the group quit this year. If your child is set on a rock-star dream, learning covers, and playing on stage at a venue in a rockband setting, more power to them! It's a lot of fun, and there are other great alternatives. BandAid is a great choice, or even the southwest location of School of Rock (private franchise). If your child is set on learning an instrument or furthering their musical education, please consider other options first. This School of Rock location is a corporate franchise, where money is valued over people, and the two directors take full advantage of their employees and students. Private instructors abound, all for less money and more learning, especially music theory and even just reading music. It will also be cheaper, since you'll pay teachers directly, and not the overhead of an international corporate chain, which is only a mere portfolio of an even more massive company, Youth Enrichment Brands. At the end of the day School of Rock is a business owned by an even bigger business. With a CEO, shareholders, profit margins to hit, and money to make. They will put profit over people at every level, despite their convincingly authentic appearances. The music director even makes some of his serious leadership decisions by rolling a die, as if it's a game to him? Our kids deserve better. -From a parent of a former student and spouse of a former teacher.
