For several years I was filing my own taxes online due to having bad experiences with certain places. However, this is not the case with Kathy at Nguyen Luminary Group. A friend suggested this place to me and my experiences were all positive. Professionalism: Upon meeting Kathy and having her explain to me the process, I immediately felt at ease. She's courteous and informative. She kept it simple and did not bother to use big jargons like some other places do. Knowledge: I have heard of several horror stories of people being randomly audited (a friend included) and so I attempted to ask her a few questions about tax audits, and the IRS. She answered all my questions with confidence and I felt reassured that even if I get randomly selected, I won't be in trouble. (What matters the most for me) Thoroughness: Kathy showed me that she entered my information through several tax prep softwares to make sure no information were missed or entered incorrectly. I'm a bit OCD so yes, I took my time looking it over. I also called her the jack of all trades because of her other expertise. She's a real estate agent, business tax agent, and a full service insurance agent (vehicle, medical, dental, life insurance, Obamacare...etc.). I have a better understanding of Obamacare now than I did a year go trying to sign up for my mom. I look forward to filing my next year's tax and maybe she would sell me my first house in the near future.

Best agent ever!!! Kathy is very professional and knowledgeable. She gave a lot of clear explanation about health insurance and helped my mother to pick out the best insurance plan for her. Great service and I will definitely recommend to friends and family!

Having no experience…read morewith this process, it was crucial for us to find someone trustworthy, communicative, and efficient. Cathy checks all of these boxes and more, she is an absolute pleasure to work with. Right from the very beginning when we "interviewed" Cathy she answered all of our questions and gave us even more context for the home-buying process. Our entire home-buying process was not only remote but also occurred during the height of the covid-19 shelter in place orders around the country, so we would have been limited in the ability to physically see any listings, but it didn't matter what the circumstances were because Cathy made our virtual showings an easy and painless process. She took us on virtual tours of several listings and was very accommodating for our time zone (2 hrs behind her) to show us neighborhoods, local amenities, and houses themselves during what would have otherwise been late hours for her. Due to her efficiency, great camera skills, and responsiveness, we were able to get great views of our future home, its immediate surroundings, and the city itself all from the comfort of our living room and we are beyond pleased with our choice. She also shared a few different local lenders for us to consider (but did not put any pressure on us whatsoever to choose anyone in particular) For the one we ultimately chose - I'll review separately if he has a Yelp listing - he was phenomenal to work with! Extremely knowledgeable, patient, and helpful in outlining the process and all of our available options. From start to finish, we made an offer and closed on the house in 32 days and it was a painless and pleasant process. And even though the deal is sealed so to speak, Cathy has still been helping us with setting up local utilities and handling other major move-in checklist items. We cannot thank her enough for her time, assistance, and advice!

However, when building the home, their goal is to "meet code". I found that the craftsmanship behind the walls is not all there! So as long as it "meets code", the aesthetics are unimportant and won't be fixed or changed because "it doesn't affect the house as a whole". As for the upgrades, that is where they really "make a killing". ( An electric outlet, $110. Wooden floors, $14,000). Just choose what can't be added or changed in the future by an aftermarket contractor (3 car garage, fireplace, etc). Make certain whatever changes you ask for are in writing. (light switch on a specific wall, fan offset, door opening, etc..) Otherwise it will end up being just something that was talked about. Visit the home constantly and don't be afraid to question the construction (after all, you are paying good money for a mostly perfect construction). Don't be afraid to invest $300-$500 in an inspection on pre-drywall and prior to the expiration of the warranty (it is a piece of mind and will send a message to the builder). Hint: When asked what is your max budget and what is your "must have", be conservative on what you say your budget amount is because, they will give you about $20K in upgrades (your must have) for free (remember, the upgrades don't cost them much unless you want them).

I began to notice horizontal cracks in many floor tiles in the walkway/kitchen area, along with garage ceiling and floor. Advanced Foundation was contacted by Bloomfield, and Clyde McClintock was sent out to inspect my foundation issue. After waiting several weeks, I contacted Mr. McClintock requesting the report. When I received the report it stated there was NO foundation issue. This finding is simply not correct or accurate. The cracks are in the drywall, and the floor tile. I would like for Bloomfield to stand behind their builders Warrenty and repair this issue.
