If I could give this place less than one star, I could. I went to this place over Spring Break, to inquire about a tattoo. I was made to feel very uncomfortable. The artist that I spoke to looked me up and down as if he wanted to do more than just a tattoo, so I left to get myself out of what I felt was not a good situation. There was a female artist there to my surprise, because by looking at their social media, her work was never advertised... By the uncomfortable experience I had and that showed me the respect or lack there of, for women (not to mention the artist that seems he wanted to make a move on every female who walked to the door). After leaving I looked for other places around the area that could take a walk in tattoo, which I found another shop available (even made time for me, even they were booked)... that the Odin's Beard apparently had been sending people to that been intentionally giving bad reviews. I see why, the other shop was everything Odin's Beard wasn't, kind, inviting, professional, comfortable, knowledgeable, just a fun environment, and listened to exactly I wanted, even took the time out to custom make what I had mind. The person I worked with was a medical professional and trauma survivor, which made the whole experience worth every minute. I was able to connect with someone, which meant everything in the world. This completely made up for such a terrible experience, as I was a trauma victim, they made it easy to open up and talk about it (confidentially, which is steases), leaving me feeling like I'm not alone and at home, and I was heard! You can tell the difference at the shop I ended up with, people who love what they do and want their clients to have the best, art wise and mentally, I felt at home, safe, with a piece that made feel me more beautiful about myself, maybe helping me start to heal and love myself. Shame on this place for trying to get ahead by attacking others, when they should such looking at such places to aspire to. You really should get to know your clients instead of making them feel uncomfortable as they walk in, ask questions, and getting to know your client on a personal level (not just for alterior motives, as felt). Listen to what they want, give them what they want, professionally. *****Another amazing thing about the place I found, the owner of the place I went to had the most class, still speaking highly of other places despite when asked about the situation, nothing negative, something most people would not and shouldn't do in their situation, much admiration. You don't find that in people anymore (class).***** Maybe it's just me, but it's not about the quality of the tattoo, but the overall experience, of which I was I able to find elsewhere. Personal advise, If you're a woman, looking more for than a tattoo and wanted to be treated respectfully, look elsewhere. Also, The fact you have to pay people for good Google reviews doesn't say much at all, I saw that ad. This place just seems like a shady place, and I won't ever be back. Maybe consulting a lawyer might be in my future, for adding more trauma to someone who has past trauma. read more

if i could give this piercing place/tattoo shop 0 stars, i would. i went in to get my belly button pierced. i believe on the piercing side of the shop, the piercers are married. (a guy & a woman). don't get me wrong, i had a wonderful experience getting my belly button pierced by the woman. the shop is clean and they know what they're doing. i was working at a restaurant during this time. i had to wear a belt (& i was always carrying plates around) so my piercing got knocked around a lot. i also sleep mostly on my stomach, which they clearly tell you not to. as i continue, it is clear to me that the reason why my belly button piercing is irritated. it was MY fault. i was still cleaning it everyday, but it was red & swollen. i called and asked the shop if there was anything i could do to help reduce the swelling. as i continue to explain to the man on the phone that it was red & swollen because of ME, i was given nothing but attitude. apparently he thought i was "blaming his wife" for messing it up. and he reiterated several times, "my wife knows what she's doing and did NOT mess up your piercing. this is your fault." essentially. i was upset at this point but he told me to come in. i shouldn't have. red flag. as i come in, i tell him i was on the phone with him earlier. i shows him my piercing and it looked like his eyes were about to pop out of his head. he said, "OH MY GOD, WHAT DID YOU DO?" as if it's literally infected and bleeding everywhere but it's not. i receive more attitude. "DO YOU SLEEP ON YOUR STOMACH, are you following the instructions we gave you???" i explain, no, i clearly wasn't. but i was cleaning it daily. "my wife did not do this. your fault." okay. i know that at this point. i accidentally touch my piercing and he starts screaming. "DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY GERMS ARE ON YOUR FINGERS FROM YOUR PHONE?" at this point, i'm in tears. i'm literally holding back tears. i was so delusional at this point by this guy who i don't even know yelling at me like he's my father. i don't even remember what else he said to me. long story short, as soon as i leave, i bawled my eyes out because i could not even BELIEVE the audacity this man had to be a business owner, screaming at me. go to The Edge. they're actually nice there. read more

Me and my best friend got matching tattoos. We were greeted by Day-Day, he was very welcoming and very helpful! We did a walk in, so we had about an hour wait (which is really good for a walk in for 2 people at once). Shawn tattooed us. He was AMAZING! He was very personable, very nice, extremely helpful! The artists at this shop are amazing, especially my BIL Todd! Whichever artist you get, Todd, Lance, Terry, Jeremy or Debo, you will NOT be disappointed! They are a bunch of professional artists who take their work very seriously, and it shows. The shop is extremely clean! As far the establishment itself, and the way it is ran , it is top notch. The place is extremely clean, and smells like green soap . I've had over 40 hours of tattoo work in this place. Sometimes an artist can't make an appointment because life happens. But these artists will actually call you to let you know that they can't keep the appointment and reschedule you ! Any other place will let you show up and tell you they called in. Any other place will also leave you sitting for hours after your appointment time while they eat lunch smoke cigarettes and finally get around to drawing your piece. These people will not do that. However, that being said, the quality of the work you get does still depend on who does your work. Sometimes I'm blown away with what I have, other times not so much. I have had two encounters with the folks at Artistic Ink. The first was three years ago when I got my upper back done by an artist who is no longer there, and the second was today when I accompanied my 30-year-old daughter to get some words scripted on her arm. On both occasions I found the artists to be very serious about their craft and all that surrounds it - the hygiene, the attention to detail when it comes to what the client is trying to achieve, making sure the client understands the process of aftercare, etc. They are also good at putting your mind at ease if you are nervous or apprehensive. They strike a good balance between being professional and being laid back and easy going. Today, Gavin did my daughter's ink, and he was very good from start to finish. At the time of this review, a photo of that session is featured on the main page of yelp for Artistic Ink. The tattoo reads, "Fly high but stay grounded..." (Note: The lettering is wavy at the clients request instead of straight...this is not a mistake on the artist's part) I would definitely recommend this place as a good tattoo joint...it's the real deal and the artists are legit. read more

Couldn't find an email that worked, so I thought I'd post a review here in hopes that it'd save other people from a bad experience. I am usually not one to do this, but after the experience that I had at Artistic Ink, I felt the need to write an explicit review due to the lack of professionalism and service. I walked in around 4pm, it wasn't super busy. I had called beforehand to figure out how your shop was handling walk-ins. I was told to stop by and they could try to set me up with an appointment. Due to the size of the tattoo I wanted, they said they could fit me in. Two weeks ago, my 4-month-old puppy was in a horrible accident and passed away. This has been one of the most devastating things I've ever had to go through due to the nature of the accident, how young our puppy was, and many things surrounding the situation. I felt inclined to get a tattoo of his name as a sweet way to remember him. I did some research, and a lot of places had 2-3 week wait times, so I decided to stop by Artistic Ink since it was closer than a few other shops. I was not there 2 seconds when two of the employees offended both me and my significant other. When I explained that I wanted to get my pup's 4 letter name due to his recent, unexpected death, your employees at the front desk immediately started laughing so loud and one of them said "Do you want me to make fun of you now or when you leave?" and proceeded to talk about how much he hates those "f***ing bastards" (referring to dogs) and that his wife has a dog that he absolutely "f***ing hates." He proceeded to ask me what my dog's name was by saying "Okay so what's the retard's name?" I have never in my life been talked to this way and especially not in a place where I am trying to pay my hard-earned money for a service. I could probably write a book regarding the many other horrible comments that came from your employees' mouths - one being that this employee's wife "carries his balls around in her purse" and that he would "try not to laugh when I started crying over the bastard during my tattoo" (referencing my dog). The amount of horrible language and ruthless comments that came from those two employees was unlike anything I have ever experienced. This was only the beginning. Since I had to pay upfront, I debated on tipping. I decided to only pay the minimum and see how the tattoo turned out, but after the verbal abuse and humiliation through my entire visit, I could not wait to get up out of the chair and leave. I did not tip and the only reason I stayed is that I wanted the tattoo as a reminder for my puppy. I hope the owner finds a tactic to address the way his employees talk to paying customers. Apparently I am not the only person who's experienced this after reading some of the 1-star reviews. I should've started there before coming in and being brutally humiliated in front of several employees and customers. I did not feel welcome for one second. I will never be returning and I hope other people will choose another place after reading this review. read more

So I was visiting a friend in SC and decided to get another ear piercing. She suggested this place as she had gotten all of her piercings here in the past and had nothing but positive comments about their service and staff. I have previously had my cartilage pierced in two different places by Claires and the piercing pagoda. Never, ever, again will I ever get a piercing with a gun. Going to a body piercing or tattoo shop is definitely the way to go. Not only did it not hurt or bleed as much as with a gun - but my ear barely hurts now. In the past it would be red, swollen and sore. This is just a little bruised and doesn't hurt at all unless I touch it (to clean it) or smack the phone on my ear (I've accidentally done this more times than I'd like to admit in the day since I've gotten it pierced). The guy who did my piercing was really nice and funny. He kept me relaxed and he was quick, clean and safe. He stopped prepping to help another customer and I visibly watched him put on a different, new, set of gloves which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend going here for piercings. They have a tattoo shop here and in Greenville. I can't comment on those but if the service is as good as the piercing shop I would definitely give it a try! read more

Got a piercing here and was really surprised by the experience. Piercer was friendly, but he never told his name. He did not ask for ID or make me sign any kind of waiver, which was super odd. Cleanliness was absent aside from the tools he used. He did not sanitize the table before I sat down, and a girl was before me getting a piercing while I waited Did not see any kind of certification for this guy on the wall, only for a female. The guy was friendly but over the top banter about another piercing business in Anderson was very off putting. Could have lived without that rant. Did not receive any aftercare instructions; luckily I have been pierced before and know. Overall - super unprofessional establishment (especially for the price)and will not be returning. read more

I've been coming here for years getting piercings and made many referrals. I've always left happy and continued to be a repeat customer. Last night, I decided to get the triple forward helix. My husband and I went together. The first one was painful and I did move. The initial piecing itself was tolerable, but the positioning of the curved ring is what hurts the most. The second one, I did fine and didn't move. Same for the last one, didn't move. The piercer even mentioned the last two aren't as bad as the first given the space. Once he was done, I looked in the mirror and immediately noticed and mentioned that the third one looked out of line with the other two. He said no that it was perfect. I asked my husband what he thought and he did agree with me and said that it wasn't in line with the other two. Then the piercer said it was my fault because I kept moving on that one. That that's what happens when I move. We said our thank you's and left. When I got in the car I asked my husband if I did move on the last piercing because I didn't think that I had and he confirmed that I did not. Only on the first. So I called this morning and spoke with him and indicted that I'm not super happy with the third piercing and what I needed to do to have it redone. He continued to say that it was perfect. I again said that I'd like to have it redone because I do not like the placement. He went on to say that it was my fault that I kept moving and that's what happens when I move. That I shouldn't have kept moving. On and on and on. I had him on speaker so my husband could hear because I was nervous to even call back in the first place. I finally said ok, either way it's pierced and I'm not happy with it what can I do. He said take it out and let it heal a few months. I went on to ask that when I came back to him, to have it redone would there be a charge. He said of course. I said thank you and hung up. Irregardless of who's fault it was, I immediately mentioned that I was not happy with the third piercing; I called back to make him aware of it again. He didn't care, he threw the blame immediately on the customer. I will NEVER be visiting him again. Extremely disappointed in the professionalism and overall work done. read more
