Upon moving, my wife and I landed full-time jobs downtown. Both of our jobs required us to work in person, so we needed care for our son. During our search for child care, a couple of our friends recommended PTLC. We couldn't be more thankful for that recommendation. Our son is treated and cared for as if he is their own. Everyday I go to work, I know he is safe and enjoying himself. There is challenging curriculum and lot's of artistic activities. There has been a significant increase in my son's development since starting at PTLC. Lastly, the owner Andrea truly makes this place a gem. She's great with the kids and handling the business. We love that they use BrightWheel the app so we can always see what our little one is up to during the day! I love the feel of a smaller home daycare because he gets tons of 1:1 attention - Gail really knows all her kids so well and each individual child's needs. He is constantly coming home with new skills and vocabulary, he is learning a ton (he is 15 months old). She is a nurturing provider and has a great way with the kids. The daycare also has lots of toys, manipulatives, etc. so my son is always very busy, and there is a huge fenced in yard so he gets plenty of exercise. Our two-year-old daughter wakes up every day asking if she can go play at Monique's house. We really appreciate the open concept and independent learning that's encouraged at One Childhood- plus the outdoor space (including hobbit hole! and water tables) is hard to beat. The hours are great (7:30-5:30) and Monique and Howie are super flexible. Did I mention they have a chameleon the kids love? Monique and Howie also run a myriad of cultural activities for every holiday ranging from Christmas to Day of the Dead and Dwali. I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the FOOD- it's unbelievable. I review the menus daily and while it all sounds good on paper, it looks and smells AMAZING! He took to Monique and Howie right away. When he first started going here he was still in diapers and when we were ready to potty train Monique was right on board and we were in undies in no time! I love that all of the meals are freshly prepared, lots of fruits and veggies. When my first started he was a picky 2 year old with limited foods he would eat. Once I changed up the meal time routine at home Monique followed suit at school and now he eats so many foods and things he would never touch before. I love that she sends pictures and daily/weekly updates on how he is doing. They do lots of outdoor play and do awesome field trips like the museum of science and even the beach! I plan to have my son here until he transitions to either preschool or kindergarten. I only wish I had found this daycare sooner!!
