Found this place thanks to Yelp because I'm trying to encourage my husband to try to find new places to go. Our go to place is FanFare but I convinced him that other places have a lot to offer. We came in here, he ended up selling a few things for store credit and we got a rainbow dice rolling tray and 2 packs of mtg cards. I was telling him about the card game tournaments they have here and when he got to Odyssey Games, there was a card tournament happening. He said he would be interested in coming back and a big factor was because the store was pleasant smelling (which is sadly not always the case for stores that are often inhabited by nerds). Odyssey Games pretty much has a grip in the game store market in Kalamazoo so you pretty much have to go there but good news it's one of the best gamestores that I've been to it has a great selection of MTG,star wars legion, Warhammer, Chessex, Dungeons and Dragons, army painter,citadel and recently added valejo. With this much selection it's great (though would want to see historical miniatures) so if you're in Kalamazoo and into nerdy things this is a must stop. read more

So the family had to run my mother out to the dentist a while ago, and as we walking in, I spotted this familiar sign right next door- it was a pleasant surprise, and a welcome one! I'd visited their former location out by Western Michigan University for packs of Magic: the Gathering and cheap graphic novels multiple times, and I took the chance to wander on in and take a look around. It's better than their former store, I can say that much. Granted, they've pared down their inventory, choosing to focus on a certain few markets- the store's main focus is Magic: the Gathering, but they also sell board games, Force of Will, Star Wars: Destiny, Malifaux, and the X-Wing Miniatures games, along with snacks and drinks. If you're looking for any other game, you might have better luck heading over to Fanfare. They don't sell anything else other than those games and card game accessories (deck boxes, sleeves, binder pages, play mats, etc.) If you like playing Magic, this is the store for you- they have organized Magic events five or six days a week, in different formats, so you should be able to find an event to your liking and skill level! You can also get some snacks and drinks here, but if you're looking for a bigger feed, there are a number of restaurants in the same shopping center (including a Blaze Pizza on the corner), so you can fill up and be able to get right back to gaming. The best part of this store is the immense open gaming space. You won't be crowded for space here, so you can game and trade and spread out as much as you need, and if you feel like trying out some of the tabletop games, ask if there's a store copy you and your friends can try (but please treat them with respect, yeah?) so you could find out if it's everything you thought it would be. There's actually nothing I can think of that I'd change about this place- it's that great! Stop in and look around, you won't be disappointed! read more

Great little game shop that really supports the local gaming scene. Offers a place to play games. Lots of options close by to get food which you can have while there. Get all the latest books, games, and minis before available online. read more

Stopped in because I needed a new hobby and had fond memories of Magic from high school. Everything had changed and I had lots of questions. Elliot answered all my questions and got me setup for success. Started playing (almost) every Friday at FNM. The players are really friendly and the staff makes sure events run smoothly. Proud to say that Odyssey is my go to local gaming store. read more
