Immediate response to our heating problem. The technician (Guy) called 10-minutes in advance to let us know he was on the way. Upon arrival, introduced himself and immediately went to troubleshooting. The technician would not stop troubleshooting and was determined to resolve our heating issue. I never saw someone so determined to fix a problem. Even went through the trouble of chasing down an electrical cable because the unit had no power. Found the problem and heating is back up and running. Guy is very professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Explained everything he was doing and why. We have a service contract on our oil burner and central air units. I called on Saturday and was told we had to pay almost $300 to come out on a weekend. Customers beware! What good is a service contract if it is not honored? Don't throw your money away on this company. We have been customers for over fifty years and this is the the first time we had to use the contract on the AC unit and go to find out it is no good. read more

Excellent, prompt and friendly service. Every technician experience has been extremely good. The staff is knowledgeable and explains what service was performed. They did not have a replacement part during one visit to repair our heater but were able to source one locally and returned the same day to complete the work. Their service contracts are reasonably priced and include regular maintenance and tune-ups. We purchased a new heat pump, gas furnace and air conditioning unit from them several years ago. The installation was flawless and the unit has been working very well aside from one part failure (mentioned above) which was replaced under warranty/service plan at no additional cost. Strike #1: in 2005 Oehlert installed an oil boiler here and neglected to plumb it so the core could be acid washed every two years to prevent minerl buildup from our well which inevitably brings hot water flow to a trickle. Nor did they mention this was standard protocol. Strike #2: When this buildup occurred, I called in December 2023 to set up a repair call. Their message was that they were closed for two weeks over the holidays and to leave a message, which I did. No response. weeks later I tried again and was told by Amber they don't answer messages left when they're closed. She acted as though this was fine. Nevertheless I made a service appointment with her for the acid rinse as no one else seemed willing to do it. Strike #3: When no one showed up on the appointment day, I called Amber and she said "I've been trying to reach you for days but we only have an old land line number." This despite my updating my information with her when we set the appointment. Then she says, "we don't do acid rinses." Ok, who's paying attention over there? I politely suggested she use whitepages.com to find a customer if she has no current number. Or send them a note. No response except "do you want me to cancel your account?" I told her "do whatever you like and hung up." Batter out. read more

After this initial post, we still needed Oehlert to come out an additional time - for a total of 4 times. Steve sent me a message asking me to contact him, but after 2 voicemails, he has not returned my call. They charged us $164 on 3/07, $199 on 3/18 and $125 on 3/28. The last gentleman that finally came out did not charge us, ironically, as he is the only one that fixed the issue. Again, everyone was friendly and kind, but losing heat 4 times until someone finally fixed it, and being charged each time, is inexcusable. I've written 15 reviews on Yelp - all 5 stars - with the exception of this one. I wouldn't recommend them as they will charge you even when they don't fix the issue. read more

I can't post zero stars or I would have. As a 20 year customer, it's clear the current family ownership is nothing like the family members who founded or built the company. I had another tech look at my system that was maintained by Oehlert for years, and he pointed out the problems, missing valve caps, etc that they had overlooked. My basement flooded when the tech failed to plug in the condensate pump after doing service. The office staff is hostile. When I raised the issues with Steve Oehlert, the owner, he ended up cancelling my service contracts and never bothered to inform me. Plenty of good family run companies in the area, Oehlert is no longer one of them. read more

I've lived in Limerick since Ronald Reagan was President and I've never used anybody besides Oehlert Bros. for heating and cooling. That says it all. Not only are they close to home, when I call them, 19 times out of 20 they'll do the job right the first time, whether it's tuning up my central air for summer or cleaning my furnace for winter. On the rare occasion when I need emergency service, no matter what time of day, they're quick to respond and won't leave until the problem is fully resolved. Last year they replaced my chimney vent with one that is 18 inches taller so if God forbid we get another "Blizzard," hopefully it won't be buried in snow which shuts my furnace off. I'd recommend them to anyone within 15 miles of Royersford. As of the 2017-18 heating season, they no longer deliver kerosene. All their deliveries now are #2 fuel oil, and I'll be damned if I can tell any difference in how the furnace runs. They claim the #2 has an additive which prevents gelling in very cold temperatures, which is what compelled some people to get kerosene in the first place. I guess we'll see. I wonder if folks are aware Yelp encourages reviews of business like this, not just eateries. Only 4 reviews (as of 11-03-17), including this one? It's not like Oehlert Brothers, Inc. are new kids in town. read more

Oehlert's has been pretty good to me over the years. I had two issues that almost pushed me to drop their services but there are more good guys (all the girls are wonderful) than bad guys so they get 4 out of 5 stars. If a certain person was to retired or move to a different company, I'd give them 10 stars. The Gold Star program for heating and AC is so worth it. They even installed an attic fan - two so far. Shout out to Tom V. Mark D and his son and Lee. They've done the most work at my house. Oh!! The free chimney inspection! Set my mind at ease. read more

I have used Oehlert Brothers for 15 years. I am on the automatic oil purchase program and have purchased a new furnace and a new AC unit from them over the years. I also have the service program for both. I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with Oehlerts. I have had issues with the AC unit over the years, but they were addressed promptly and without charge. I recommend them without reservation. If they offered other products or services, I would buy them from Oehlerts. read more
