The Off Broadway Theatre has been downtown for as long as I can remember but I never had had the pleasure of actually checking it out until very recently. One day I hopped on trax and sat agog waiting for the show to begin. The theatre was a bit rundown regarding the seats, carpet, and walls. The props, lights, and music, however, was not thankfully. Now, as far as the acting is concerned, it was, to put it bluntly, campy. This is by all means not an insult but just an observation. Albeit the play was intended as a comedy yet the humor contained few moments of hilarity. I genuinely enjoyed seeing a live action play that didn't break my bank account. I will certainly go back to support the local actors all the while enjoying myself inexpensively.

This is such a hard review! 4 stars for the comedy, 0 stars for service!…read more Our tickets mentioned doors opened at 8:30 for the 9:00pm show. But the website itself encourages you to get there 45-60 minutes prior. We arrived at 7:45 and checked in and got our hand stamp. At 8:30 an employee I believe came out asking the line if we all had our hand stamps and I overheard someone ask if we'd be going in, and he said first show ran late so this show wouldn't start till around 9:30. But it wasn't an official announcement. We finally were shuttled in at 9pm. Our server who had no name badge took our drink order along with others seated nearby. We waited about 10min before she came back and asked us again for our order. Obviously we repeated it, and it took another 10ishmin or so to get our drinks! By now the show is starting. We finished our drinks during the first act. Server hadn't been back and our drinks empty. First act is horrible & political and I really could have used another drink! She also gave us and charged us for bottled water while others nearby were served tap water?!?! Now the Main act was starting and he is hilarious! However, server still nowhere to be found and it's now after 10pm! I finally flagged down another server to ask if she could ask our server to check in us. She offered to take our order asking if we wanted the same drinks, I replied yes, 10 min go by and that server kindly informed us our drinks would be on the way. 10 mins more and our server says she got our order but the bar is backed up it'll be a few more minutes. Meanwhile EVERY ONE around us with different servers have gotten multiple drinks and food orders delivered throughout this tine. Finally we get our second round of drinks about an hour after we arrived. We drink those and it would have been nice to have a 3rd round but instead all other waitresses who had been serving up food and drink non stop are now issuing tabs as the show is nearly over. So we also get our tab. I came here to enjoy my anniversary with my husband. Enjoy some drinks and laugh a lot. Sadly I my experience was ruined by an inattentive server who I I think was named Chanz based on my receipt?! Should have left no tip but we aren't that kinda folk.

I went on a Tues evening so it wasn't as crowded. Inside was easy to check in. They gave me a colored chip to set near my dining set so the servers know what type of meal to bring me. Bathrooms were also right outside and very convenient. Dinner was five courses. Chef Anna was innovative and created our dishes to perfection. We started with a yummy crostini made of goat cheese, strawberries, and balsamic. Then a summer salad followed made with berries and sliced almonds. Third course was a fruit sorbet as a palette cleanser in between. Fourth and fifth courses consisted of what guests ordered individually online upon purchasing their tickets to the show. I chose the mac and cheese with the veggie lasagna. Mac and cheese was amazing! By the time I started on my lasagna, I was already pretty full. It tasted more like a vegan lasagna rather than a veggie one. I tasted shredded bits of coconut that may have been vegan cheese. Lastly, for dessert it was a lovely strawberry shortcake. We were all well fed and satisfied by the time Magician Anjo came out. Because we were a smaller crowd of six guests, we got a more intimate experience with Anjo, who was great by the way! Very funny and entertaining. In the course of 45 minutes, he did quite a few various tricks for us including one with playing cards and one with golf balls. The one with the money at the end was probably his best trick! Anjo restored my faith in magic! :D Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a cool magic show with great food, superb staff, and amazing vibes all around.

I hope the chef never loses her edge in the quality of food she is producing. The magic show was better than I thought it was going to be. The magician was very good and kept people engaged and entertained. We had fun.

The shows are comedic and musical, with occasional moments of improvisation. So far, I've attended two of their performances: one was The Great Gatsby that was held in a parking lot. All the attendees circled their vehicles around a stage and watched from the Covid-safe spaces in their cars. I appreciated the creativity of the performers and producers of the show to be able to provide the entertainment while not being able to be " in person." The second show was last night and was at a restaurant. We were in a private room with every table filled. It was wonderful to see smiling faces that were not peaking out from behind masks. The show was entertaining-with tons of audience participation. If you don't want to be called out or interact with the performers, this might not be the scene for you. At the end of the murder mystery, the audience votes for who they think the murderer was-AND the appropriate punishment. I loved seeing the reactions of the cast members when they took their punishment-especially when one of them had to guzzle ketchup. It was hilarious! (I also felt a little bad for him, he looked like he was going to be sick.)

There were so many adult jokes. The characters really put their heart and souls into the production! I loved the meet-n-greets at the beginning, the singing, and the story. My only complaint is that the service at the restaurant was so slow, but that's not Salty Dinner's fault. I can't wait to go to another production!

But nonetheless I had a great time, and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere. Plus 6$ mules and .50 cent pool is hard to beat. I guess they serve food but I don't know how good it is. Only downside is that's there's just one toilet, luckily I didn't have to wait to use it while I was there.

There's a couple of pool tables. The bathrooms are a little "shocking." I was looking for the women's restroom and when the lights automatically turned on, I saw lots of 70s models posing nude. So this is what regular bodies look like before the surgery era! The men's restroom was more classy with people smoking cigars.
