We really enjoy this location when we don't really want to deal with crowds in theaters . The combined seats make it a little more comfy and easier to enjoy. Sometimes weve even been the only ones enjoying a movie .The popcorn is always nice and fresh . Other locations usually just scoop and thats what you get . I've invested in both the megatub and the drink each year as we are avid movie goers,it does make it worth it then shelling out paper tubs and drinks each time . Can't wait to visit again read more

As the theater game has make quantum leaps over the last few decades here in the states we've come to expect certain luxuries which have gone down in price over time (stadium seating, reclining chairs, wider variety of foods). Coming from a bigger city I found this place to be quite nice in terms of having most of the boxes checked. Food was hot and fresh, theater had lettering into the carpet for easy identification (although the seats could be easier to fine (mild illumination would be nice). They have an app that's easy to use, a loyalty program (easy to get value if you have a family as the rewards could be greater). Staff was friendly and the tickets are affordable for value. The grip was the cleanliness of the theater, while the walkways and swept and and maybe the seats spot cleaned for random popcorn kernels behind the seats are not cleaned after shows, and not even daily as I went to the 1st showing matinee and it must have been at least a days worth of stuff just swept back there. Based on traffic it could have been a week. I'm not sure if this is all theaters but there is an upstairs exit to get to concessions and bathrooms. It wasn't nearly as cold as i thought it would be considering it was summer when I went. All that being said I did enjoy my experience and will return when visiting SLC again. I do wish the seats reclined a few more degrees. read more

This used to be one of my favorite theaters. The last few times I have had not great experiences. The chairs may recline however some are shedding the fake leather coating. I have now been covered in black flakes from the chairs and have it in my hair. I don't think every chair does this but it's happened for the last three times. Tonight, the whole theater reeked of sewage. I let one of the staff members know and was told "we have old pipes." I was getting queasy should 1/2 through the movie. Yes it really was that bad. Hopefully some changes soon. Far from luxury now... pick a different theater to go to. read more

This Megaplex is ALL LUXURY ALL THE TIME! Lol, that should be their tagline. As compared to other locations, this one truly does feel different. It is much smaller, with limited concessions (they do have gelato, though!), and even the foyer drips with (their interpretation of) luxury. It really is not THAT fancy, but it is nice: dark, with cozier seats, chandelier light fixtures, and cleaner than your average theater. I think it could be a go-to for grown up movie nights as I saw not one child. Each theater is of the smaller variety, but all the giants seats recline and are very comfortable. At least in ours, there were not any noticeably "bad seats." They have one VIP theater too, which I did not visit, but have tried at other Megaplex locations. I don't know if it is much different from the standard screenings here (again, considering the standard is luxury), but I've enjoyed those rooms in the past, particularly the blankets! Located within a shopping center, parking is very limited out front, and you are better off grabbing a spot around back. There is an entrance there, too, so it is very convenient. read more

While waiting 6 hours before leaving Utah, 1 of the best ways to kill time is watching a movie. Thanks to fellow YELPERS Megaplex was found nearby and had great reviews.. so we decided to come check it out. For starters, it's in a small plaza with plenty of parking on a Sunday, considering the other stores are closed. The main theatre is upstairs when you walk in and is relatively small. We didn't have to wait long at all to pick our popcorn, snacks, and find our seats. The place was very clean, quiet, and friendly. Very modern looking and well maintained for the 3 years it's been open. There's an additional room that will be available in the near future downstairs. The movie theatre itself was awesome, very comfortable chairs with reclining options for your back and feet. The other cool thing was the fact that you have your own small table available with your seat, so you can lay your snacks, popcorn, drink and food comfortably while watching a movie. Unlike other theaters that you cram everything on top of yourself or share it with someone. Very comfortable overall and would definitely come watch a movie here all the time. read more

Here's a gem. During our first yellow-phase date night, after our dinner at Fav Bistro across the street, Lauren surprised me with tickets to see Tenet at the Megaplex Luxury theaters. I'd been hesitant about going to the theater, but I was assured that precautions were being taken to encourage a safe and nostalgically-fun movie night. And they did just that! We arrived and went up to the canteen, where the floor denoted social distancing and signage supported COVID-19 safety practices. The staff were friendly as you'd expect, and following all posted precautions. We got some popcorn and icees (our go-to), asked for non-spoiler feedback on Tenet, where one of the employees said we would "love it", and enthusiastically enough to get us pretty excited. There was also just about no one else at the theater and we were the first ones in; because although the seats are assigned, I have to get it all set up, kinda get nested and prepare myself; it's a ritual, I suppose, but like bowling or the batting cages, those rituals improve the experience. Slowly, a few more folks trickled in and we noticed the pattern, that all of the attendees were staggered, creating at least a 6ft distance in all directions while viewing the film. Kinda cool, but I will confess that at one point I choked on a kernel and coughed, which resulted in an audible gasp. I'm sorry for that :haha: Not going to go into the film, other than to say it was brilliant. Well done, Christopher Nolan on a certain classic. This is a great, and clean theater. My friend told me about this place and I never knew it existed. I'm not sure if there is someone that checks you in or what, but we bought our tickets online and just walked straight in and to the room. No one checked us in. Kind of weird. The bathroom from where we were was a bit of a distance. So if you want to go do one final bathroom break before the movie starts...sprint. Or else leave during the boring part. This megaplex is a bit unique from all the other theaters with reclining seats. You have four buttons. One to recline the seat itself and one to recline the leg portion. You'll need to find the optimal position yourself. The third button is a stop button that will just reset the entire seat. The final and most important button, especially during winter is the seat warmer button. You have three different settings and each setting controls the amount of heat you'd like. I think it goes from hottest to a lukewarm. The seat warmers automatically turns off after a while and you'll have to turn it back on. That was a bit annoying. The seats was the only thing I thought was cool as an individual. If you're there for a date, it make it hard to cuddle up against your date. read more

All the theaters in town seem to be converting to the luxury seats. And by all, I mean a couple of them. But it's a fun trend, and somehow this one is now a really swanky luxury theater and I had no idea. I stopped by for a late late showing of Star Wars recently, and was surprised I hadn't heard more about the place. Night is a funny time to visit, because it's already not the biggest or busiest movie theater around, but when it gets late it gets deserted. My movie got out after 1am and I pretty much had the run of the place. More importantly, though, is what it looks like at any time. It's swanky. Swanky on a budget, but swanky. Nice couches, fancy chandeliers, an accented wooden wall, gelato bar, the fancy drink machine, and a coordinate palette throughout. There's also a VIP theater, and I have no idea what that's about, except to say it's also a lil' swanky. The theater itself is nice. Wide seats with a leg rest that goes up and a back rest that goes down. You can recline to a comfortable-enough-to-sleep level, but it's for sure a more comfy way to watch. That comfort and atmosphere comes with a price, though. If you're going for a date night, you'll pay like $25 without any treats. As a devotee of the dollar theater, that one is hard to swallow. $12 for a movie that will cost less than $3 in a few weeks is tough. But you know, sometimes you just have to splurge. read more

I worked with Aaron to schedule three private corporate theater rentals, and each one has been such a pleasure for my colleagues and I to attend. Here was my experience: Before even getting to the theater, I was blown away by the customer service. Aaron often responded to emails immediately, making scheduling and asking questions easy. Then I was thrilled by the customer service at the theater. Aaron was waiting to great us upon arrival, and showed us to our private table of popcorn and drink cups. I was impressed by the level of cleanliness in the theaters, the bathroom, and the common area. The bathroom is so nice. I have been to plenty of theaters with paper towels all over the ground and water all over the counter in the bathrooms. They clearly have COVID protocols in place. I mean, the place is spotless. The capacity is also significantly reduced. I was impressed by overall comfort of the theater. We rented the luxury theater, and the recliners are so comfy you could fall asleep in them. Watching "Elf" on the big screen was a dream come true. I have seen that movie every year at Christmas, and never has it been so fantastic as it was on the big screen, eating freshly popped popcorn in my giant, plush lounger. The price of the events was shockingly reasonable. Their rates differ depending on the time of day and the day of the week, making it affordable for a range of people. Tuesday matinees were a great deal. Everyone at work seemed to really appreciate the opportunity to watch a movie instead of attend meetings. I know I did! The only thing is I am not sure how accessible this theater is. You have to go up stairs or an escalator to reach the lobby. I did not see an elevator, but perhaps there is one? read more

This theater is AWESOME! The luxury loungers are sooo nice and comfortable, there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. It's a smaller theater, only a few movies with a few seats, but if you can hop online and snag some tickets you'll be good to go. Great sound and videos quality, plenty of treats and food, and it's clean too. The seats are leather and don't feel grimy or dirty, they really do an awesome job on the "cleanliness upkeep". Bathrooms were spic and span too, clean and well supplied. Always a bonus when you need to make a quick trip during the opening credits. I used to hate going to movies because without fail almost every time people would talk, or be on their phones during the movie so I never wanted to go spend money to have an unhappy experience. BUT the luxary theater changed that for me. Everyone here is respectful of each other, it's so clean, and the seats are so comfortable! Bring a blanket, and cuddle up in their heated recliners! I purposely drive out of my way to come to this theater, this is the only way I'll ever see a movie in theaters now. We experienced the VIP theater 2 and it was really comfortable. We sat in the 5th row on the side of the wall and were a little concerned when we bought tickets it wouldn't be the best view. I don't think there would be a bad seat in the theater. The seats are heated and lounge back much further than I have seen elsewhere. Blankets available for use, and you can buy concessions when walking in, and they will bring them to you at your seat (for a 15% up-charge). Very comfy. We will be going to the movies again. We didn't realize you could get concessions from the VIP entrance and waited in the standard line. It was a Friday night at 6:30 PM and there were only 2 people working the line. It took about 15 minutes to get through, as the line was servicing both for treats and tickets. read more

I usually come to this theater because it's the closest to me, and usually more quiet but i stopped going for a while, because I saw something that kind of made me uneasy about the place. Every time I have gone to this movie theater I always see couples going in the family bathrooms and obviously it's not a good thing if adult couples. And teen couples going in the bathroom together, it was so disgusting. I went to go tell a worker and they literally told me they can't do anything about it so you want my kids in a family bathroom where adults are fucking in the bathroom so disgusting I just recently went back today and there we go again another teen couple going in there after it said closed for cleaning how ghetto is that shit. This movie theater is labeled as a luxury theater, however it's far off worse than the regular theaters. As soon as you enter it smells like a boys locker room. Floors are sticky and dirty as well as the seats. It's disappointing because they charge more than anywhere else. Next time I'll settle for a non luxury movie theater's. They're much cleaner and the food is much better. Tip: if you do decide to watch a movie here be sure to bring disinfecting wipes for the seats. read more

I haven't stopped in here since they upgraded to the luxury format. It does look nice in here, but my experience wasn't the best, as far as moviegoing goes. The guys at the concession stand gave me a weird look when I didn't order any snacks. They scanned my ticket and didn't tell me where my theater was either. I'm not sure if it was the theater I was in, or if the doors are just paper thin, but I couldn't concentrate on the movie because it was so loud in the lobby. There was a large group of people who were congregated in the center lobby area, who appeared to be drinking alcohol. They were just too noisy. I suppose if I was watching a loud action movie or a comedy, I wouldn't have noticed or cared, but I was watching the Mr. Rogers movie, which may be the quieter movie I've ever seen. I love this theater so much! It is the nicest theater in the valley in my opinion. The shopping center is kind of less thriving than I had seen it in previous year or two ago. However across the street is officially closed down and historically known as one of the spots Ted Bundy almost kidnapped a lady but she escaped! I haven't been here when anything else has been opened but I want to go to the salt washed Co store as well as the Paul Mitchell school to scout for potential hires at the salon. read more

If you want to watch a movie like you're in your living room -- well, if your living room has black leather power recliners that are heated -- I've got the theater for you. The luxury theaters cost more ($9.25 for a matinee), but the whole place -- from the lobby to the bathroom to a restaurant-style seating area -- give you a more homey, upscale feel. The customer service isn't stellar: The kiosks weren't working, and only one service line (for BOTH tickets and popcorn). The parking is a bit contrived, as you'll have to weave through a labyrinth of dumpsters to get to the back-of-the-building parking (almost everything in the front is 60-minutes max!). The managers dressed in all black seen me standing there a number of times & didn't do a god damn thing. Finally the girl who rang me up came back & couldn't give me the hotdogs. Now I needed to wait for nachos. Waited another 15 mins for the cheese? Cmon. I missed 1/4 of the movie for cheese? We love going to the movies & we have given this theatre a try so many times because it's close to where we live. it's very hit & miss with staff and service & patrons. Sometimes we come here & it's all good, sometimes it's pretty terrible. Some patrons that come here can act very entitled, not sure if it's because of the area or what, it can be pretty awful with people letting their kids run wild during a film, or just being disrespectful to others in general & management doesn't seem to want to get involved if/when that happens. Other times it's fine. Managers here seem stressed, grouchy, cranky, & not happy to be here. Most of the kids working here are friendly, and seem to really want to do a good job & be helpful. If you are seated in theater #1 or #2 the noise from the lobby is very loud, & the sound systems in these theaters isn't great, usually on the low side so it's distracting during the movie. All in all, there's better choices out there in our opinion. read more

Okay- this theatre is very well maintained and decorated. They have cute tables and table decor (orchids / succulents). The bathrooms are also so much better than the ones at gateway or WVC. honestly it might be the best movie theatre bathroom yet. The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is because of this: 1) the sound system for the movie is really low. We were watching toy story and we could barely hear the sound it wasn't as loud as other theatres. 2) no one checked tickets so there were a few people who obviously didn't have tickets because they took other people's seats and kept shuffling around different seats. read more

This theater was not accessible. Thank god I didn't have my wheelchair using family member with me because the elevator was broken. There isn't a down escalator either, so we saw old ladies struggling to get down the stairs because there was no other way for them. I ordered my tickets through fandango, which told me there was still covid seating happening. I got inside had had to sit next to someone else, which is not the experience I paid for. The audio was ridiculously loud. I love loud movies but it was to the point of overstimulation. We didn't get our tickets scanned but the concessions employees were nice. When in town visiting Salt Lake City please do not go to this theater, if you leave anything in the theater on accident such as a pair of AirPods pros fall out of your pocket while watching the movie the staff will not turn your belonging into the lost and found. As for 5$ Tuesday we went while in town and at first it seemed like an amazing experience given the big luxury seats and accommodations. Our movie was the last movie of the night and we were the last people out of the theater besides the staff. As the last time I used them was right before entering the theater and went straight home after I am %100 certain they fell out in the theater while reclining in the seat. The next morning I woke up, couldn't find them and in the find my phone app it showed that they were/are across the city at a house in Jordan where I have never been anywhere near. As talking to the theater about this and filing a formal complaint the Manager disclosed with me that this is an ongoing issue with the 3rd party cleaning crew over night staff company. I will never go to this theater again. Is it my fault that I dropped them, yes! But none the less this is clearly an ongoing issue with this company and is very sad given how nice their accommodations are, as well as the pricing. But if you forget your belongings there consider them someone else's property now. I feel like salt lake is just full of many thieves and apparently a few of them work at this theater. read more

From the parking lot, this place looks like the entry into a dollar theater! Nothing big or fancy, but once you climb the escalator up to the theater, you feel as if you've ascended into Mount Olympus! Being a movie fan and a lover of all things cinematic, I have to say the seats in this theater are by far the greatest I have ever had the pleasure of placing my tush in! These theater seats were luxurious, reclined with smoothness and ease and placed me in the perfect recumbent position therefore causing me to fall asleep and missing about 20 minutes of 'Small Foot'! Way to lead the way in comfort Megaplex! Oh yeah, and they have ICE CREAM! read more

What's better than watching a movie in a reclining leather chair? Well... Watching a movie on an IMAX on a leather chair with heated/cooled seats!!! Its Located in what seems to be a boring strip mall it is a fantastically hidden split level establishment. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Thor Ragnarok here because not only was it comfortable but your not squashed with your seat buddy like in other "luxury" theatres. Give it a try! $35 for two tickets for a "VIP" screening is not worth it. 1: You have to wait in line to be "seated." They don't staff enough people, so this is a disaster and takes forever. 2: They give you the option of ordering food from either the lounge or your seat. I ordered in the lounge ahead of time... I never got my food. I eventually walked out of the theater and found it sitting on a table out in the open, with the ice in my drink melting. I grabbed it and then a "waiter" took it out of my hands and brought it to my seat. 3: I thought it was cool that they provide blankets... Wrong. I asked for a blanket when I was being seated (even though they're supposed to offer it) but she never brought me one. I waited until I saw her giving out blankets to guests who arrived after me, completely walking past me.. I ended up finding the blankets and grabbing it myself. 4: In case it isn't clear yet, they're either way understaffed or the staff is just incompetent. 5: An entire row of girls were chatting during the entire movie and the staff did nothing about it. They kicked our chairs, too. Their chatting got even worse when one of the staff members spilled something next to them... 6: The price!! Literally the only benefit of this "VIP" experience is that you get to use a blanket. That's it. Everything else was WORSE than seeing a regular screening. I don't care to be waited on hand and foot, but when I'm paying extra money for a "VIP experience," I expect at least a good experience. read more

This place is really nice. Not huge, but the theaters are top notch with the best seats I've ever used in a public theater, and lots of room to get comfortable. The interior decor is also really well done, and very stylish. Sound and picture quality were really good. Not an Imax experience by any means, but is one of the nicest experiences I have had in a theater. The cost is not much more than a regular theater, so I would recommend this to anyone who wants a very nice space to see a movie in, and be very comfortable in the process. Nice part of the movie we saw today, the concessions guy grabbed popcorn freshly coming out of the popper after we requested some of the new stuff. Been a while since we have had that. Again, just a great experience in a nice place, with a really nice staff. Well worth the money. Highly recommend!! read more

Great theater with super comfy reclining seats! Yesterday was my first visit to this Megaplex Luxury Theaters, but I came with friends who grew up in the Holladay area. Apparently this theater has changed owners and names several times over the years and at some points hasn't had the greatest reputation. The current owners have done a great job with the place. The theater was clean and the chairs are extremely comfortable and recline pretty far back so you can settle in even more comfortably for your movie. The seating area inside the theater isn't too big so you won't have a million other people in the theater with you, which is nice. You won't have to walk far when you get a hankering for some popcorn or a drink because the food counter is right outside the doors, in the middle of all of the theaters. If you're hungry before the movie and don't feel like paying $7 for popcorn, there are a bunch of fast food restaurants a short walk away: Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Taco Bell, KFC, and a little ramen shop a couple doors down. Initially the parking seems limited if you come into the main parking lot shared by the Paul Mitchell school and all the other shops, but there is lots of additional parking behind the theater. read more

The theater is hidden & parking sucks until you go around the back of the theater. There was only 1 worker & every question we asked concerning food they didn't have it. Such as shakes & a few of hot foods. The couches inside the theater were dirty & looked like there was butter finger marks all over the place. You can't pay cash so you have to covert your cash into a gift card & then you can pay for your foods. I don't recommend this theater. I almost asked for my money back. Looks very old the way the layout is. But enjoy I guess. read more
