He had never lived in an apartment before, and I knew that adjusting to a new environment, smaller space, and all the activity that comes with apartment living would be a big transition for both of us. I was especially nervous because he could get overstimulated when people or other dogs were nearby. In an apartment building where you constantly encounter people and dogs in hallways, elevators, and other shared spaces, I felt very unsure of how to navigate those situations with him. When we first moved in, I was extremely cautious and used extra safety measures every time we went outside because I wanted to make sure I was prepared for any situation while he adjusted to his new surroundings. As soon as we arrived, I knew it was time to invest in training. My mother immediately started searching for the best dog trainers in the West Palm Beach area and found Maggie. Thanks to my Nana, I was able to make that investment, and it has been completely life-changing. Maggie genuinely transformed my dog. She taught both of us skills that gave me better control and helped me understand how to confidently navigate situations that previously made me nervous. For example, my dog used to become overstimulated when runners or bikers passed by. Maggie taught me how to recognize those situations before they happened, how to redirect his attention, and how to stay calm and confident throughout the process. She also helped strengthen my relationship with my dog. He trusts me so much more now, and Maggie helped me build confidence in myself as well. That confidence has affected not only how I interact with my dog, but also how I live my life. Dogs pick up on our emotions, and when you feel unsure of yourself, it can be difficult to communicate clearly with your dog. Maggie helped me understand just how important confidence and consistency are. One thing I especially appreciated was that Maggie always explained the "why" behind everything she taught me. She explained the psychology behind a dog's actions and the different things that can influence their behavior. That was so valuable because we don't always understand why dogs behave in certain ways, especially when those behaviors are simply their way of communicating or responding to their environment. During our hands-on training, Maggie would first demonstrate each exercise so I could clearly see how it should be done. Then, when it was my turn, she truly helped me master it by telling me what I was doing well and where I could improve. She even videotaped the exercises so I could review them step-by-step afterward. Maggie also went the extra mile by bringing her son to one of our training sessions after I explained that I wanted more practice navigating passing people in the hallway and entering the elevator. Having someone there to practice with made such a difference and helped me feel much more prepared for everyday situations. Whenever I have an issue, I know I can call Maggie, and she will give me real-time advice on what I could have done differently or better. She also recommended equipment that has made a world of difference. This experience has truly been life-changing. I no longer feel a wave of anxiety every time I need to walk my dog -- I actually look forward to it! I have even taken him to public places, including the beach, and I feel so much more confident doing things with him that I once thought would be difficult. It was impossible to walk her on a leash. She would pull, chase after a bird or cars or anything really, run circles around a tree or us until she tangled herself to an inch of her leash. She would jump on everyone she met, "nibble" on people's hands and shoes. She was a terror compared to our older lab, who was just an angel. We decided that Calypso was her last chance, if she did not shape up she would be gone. We boarded her while we were on vacation and singed her up for the Dream Dog training. After 3 weeks, she came back a changed dog. She listens, pays attention, comes when we call her, sits still until "freed" and looks and waits for approval or permission. She is still hyper but we are able to control her. If you are ready to give your dog up because of bad behavior, or you just want a really well behaved pup, you should considersign up for their Dream Dog training!

When I saw the little dot on Sola's face it didn't seemed like I have to go to the vet, it was already dry and I wasn't sure if he had that before. Sometimes it is more risky to go to the vet if you have a healthy dog, because you don't want him to catch something where all the sick dogs go. You are right about the amount of dogs where overwhelming this weekend but they where all social with each other, beside Sola trying to "hump" them which wasn'tthreateningbut more likeannoyingfor other dogs. I never had any of my client pay for my sofa cleaning in the last 7 years I am in business, but I also never had a client who rushed to the emergency room with a small scratch and complained about the vet bill. Having dogs in my home I know that some of them will pee on the sofa and I never thought it is my client's fault, but none of my client thought that a small scratch on their dog is my fault. When dogs are together playing, things happen even if you are alway there with them. When I wasn't here, I had a pet sitter (Kaili or Kathy) staying in our home, so I don't even know when that dot happened in his face. Netzly, the "veterinarian", is not only unprofessional, rude, petulant, and unsavory, he is a consummate liar. I made an appointment to simply have a rabies shot given to my beloved dog. When I saw that I was five minutes late for her appointment, I called the office and communicated the fact that I would be a bit late for the appointment. I arrived exactly twelve minutes late for the appointment. This "dr" stated in a response to my review that I was 40 minutes late. A lie! And later in the appointment he told me that I was too stupid to find his offices. FACT I assume that my Ph.D. is not ample educationally for his belittling, his rudeness and his unprofessionalism in his less than modern, uncomfortable and shabby offices. I brought Sophia into the tiny examination room with a muzzle that I requested as I know that she doesn't like to be prodded and needled. I held her and this "dr" entered the room, without a hello, without introducing himself to me and asked me if I was holding her. I stated to him that I was. He said to me, and I quote, "I heard that bullshit comment before." I stood up and calmly asked him not to speak to me in that manner. He looked at me in the same manner that Sophia looks at me quizzically! I should have left at that time as I realized his negative energy and attitude was from being twelve minutes late, but I didn't. So I said let's just do this and be done with it. I grabbed Sophia around the chest and secured her muzzled head while he injected her. Somehow she then managed to wriggle backward out of the muzzle and my grip and, unfortunately, bit the "dr" on his wrist. He became inconsolable and began yelling to the vet tech to call the humane society that my shepherd mix was a vicious dog. I pleaded with him to please reconsider, that I was so sorry that she had reacted that way but he was resolute (not realizing at that point that this would be considered an occupational hazard). Then I told him that I was a Vietnam Veteran and to please give her a break for my sake. His response, and I quote, was, "I don't give a shit who you are or what you did." Sophia never bit anyone, prior to this incident and the only report on her was her off of the leash. Another lie by this 'dr'. It is my humble opinion that he should seriously consider retirement before he inflicts his negative emotions, his nasty attitude, his ramshackle offices and his unprofessionalism on another unfortunate, unprepared animal and owner.
