The food was good. The quantity for the price was disappointing. I ordered a fried fish platter for $10 and only got 3 pieces of small to med. size fried fish. It came with fries and hush puppies. They forgot to put the Hook sauce. It was a carry out. So, I didn't discover this until I arrived at home, 20 min. away. I also ordered the fried shrimp. There were 13 small to med. fried shrimp with fries and 2 hush puppies. Both platters were very good tasting. I also ordered seafood gumbo. It was good. But, a little too thick. Stopped by for a quick lunch while visiting family in town and we all really enjoyed our lunch. We received our food super quick and everything tasted fresh and fantastic. I'd recommend the catfish and shrimp platter. The fried pickles are super tasty, too! read more

This place is consistently great. It's a fast food place serving fried seafood, burgers and chicken. After a Nicholls football game, my famished family arrived here and was greeted by friendly faces, despite a very busy restaurant. The food was excellent. For months, every time we came to Thibodaux, we'd pass Off The Hook and just keep going, assuming it was just an all-fried-food, greasy fast food restaurant. Finally, I got my way to give it a try. FINALLY! What a great place! I may never try anything else on the menu, as the grilled shrimp wrap is top-notch. The shrimp are grilled just right and the whole thing has just the right spicy "bite"! The fried green beans can qualify as "comfort food". Fried green beans may sound like an odd side dish, but they sure are satisfying. My husband has has the catfish and shrimp basket twice now and really really likes it. The hush puppies are just like I remember from childhood. I was told by someone else to try their FRIED bread pudding! Doesn't that sound almost too good?! One last note to make...the service is genuinely kind and thoughtful. And boy are they fast! Okay trhis maybe the best fast food restaurant in the country. I eat out a lot. Real food cooked fast. it starts with a great smile at the customer service greet you and takes your order, with a name like off the hook of course the seafood is Bassin here in south Louisiana we don't take that lightly. but you can also order off the menu from the seafood variety too many other avenues and it still really good food. We care about our Cajun food and we wouldn't just let anyone serve it to us here's a place that you can find great food fast with a wonderful service when passing through home or Thibodaux I recommend this to anyone. Off The Hook is an OK fast food restaurant when you are craving something other than mundane cheeseburger and fries. The first time i visited was before they moved and expanded, if that means anything, and i felt like the food was exceptional for a fast food joint. Although the last few times i stopped in, the food was bland, the shrimp was chewy and all in all too expensive considereing the quality. read more

Wow. I was visiting friends in Thibodaux today and ate here for the first time. I have to say this was the best gumbo I have ever had from a restaurant. It was the chicken and sausage one, and I wouldn't mind passing it off as my own. I also had a shrimp Po boy that was perfect. The bread was crispy without crumbling to 1 million bits. We got it at the drive-through window, and service was very quick. My one complaint was that they used instant rice, so it didn't have that fluffy texture that your mawmaw's had. But for takeout, it can't be beat. read more

(Like literal 2ox of Tony's sitting on top of my sandwich) I tried again for the roast beef poboy and asked for tomatoes and pickles only.l, and received mayo and lettuce only. Very good cajun food at good prices. My family enjoys the "yard bird" they have on Sundays. It tastes like homemade fried chicken! Excellent! The red beans, fried green beans, sweet potato fries, chicken & sausage gumbo, and crawfish etouffee are really good choices. Hands down, best restaurant in Thibodaux. Cheaper than most of them, but still has a bit of a fast food feel.

Bad deal on their crawfish etouffee. I just purchased a pint for $9.00. Problem is the pint is a third low. Since it is double the price of local competition, you're think it had some magical power. None such. I doubt I can direct you to who has same dish, double the portion for one dollar more. But it's less than a mile away. I won't make that mistake again. read more

We were in Thibodeaux for a football camp and decided to eat here. One of the best meals we had the entire time!

My wife and I were tired and wanted to get dinner but on a Friday night thought we would have to wait forever. We saw this place near our hotel and decided to try it, though we were concerned since it was 7:30PM and very few cars on the lot. We were pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with the food and service. My wife is gluten-free so she was thrilled to find out she could get the shrimp basket with grilled shrimp while I got the fried fish basket. Our cooked to order food was served within minutes of sitting down. It was so good, we went back the next night before leaving town. My wife got the same thing but I was persuaded by one of the employees to try their roast beef poboy. I was skeptical but was assured their 8 hr cooked RB would be juicy and delicious. They didn't lie--was awesome! You can be sure we will give it a try again if we are back in the area--now to get one of these in Lafayette, Louisiana! read more

The Thibodaux location is definitely different from the Houma location. Was in Thibodaux today and decided to stop at this location, worse mistake ever. Last week I got some chicken and sausage gumbo from Houma, it was very good, full of meat and flavor; this week in Thibodaux the gumbo was greasy, making it impossible to eat and there were only 2 pieces of sausage..... literally, grease, rice, and 2 sausage rounds.
