OMG!!! Went for Sunday brunch. Had about a 20 minute wait to be seated, but after eating there, I'd have waited an hour. Started with Irish coffee, then had the Crab Cake Benedict. These were the best crab cakes I've ever eaten, on top of a biscuit that was a little crispy on the edges and soft, warm & moist in the center, all covered in a crawfish cream sauce. Absolutely delicious. And the Bloody Mary, made in house from scratch had just the right amount of kick. Had me sweating a bit, just like I like it. Service was friendly & efficient with no hovering. We went here on Saturday night, it looked closed from the outside, but we did get great service once we went in. The place was clean, restrooms were clean, and the food was really good We started with the honey siriracha shrimp. It was good fresh fried shrimp with an amazing sauce and the coleslaw bed that it was on was very good. I chose to get the half soup and popcorn shrimp Poboy. I enjoyed both. The bread was a little bit on the dark side, but not a horrible burn taste so I did not send it back. However, I definitely would've enjoyed it a little more lightly toasted . I got the pepper jack cheese soup since it's a fan favorite and I enjoyed it. There was too much food for me to eat, and I took half of it home. My husband ordered the hamburger steak with a side salad. He really enjoyed the hamburger steak. The texture was amazing and he said the gravy was very good. However, this is the first time he's ever had hamburger steak not on rice or mashed potatoes. That is an option he could've ordered, but he opted for the side salad with Ranch. We took the bread pudding to go and enjoyed heating it up at home. They put a lot of frosting on it and it was very delicious. However, you do need to like raisins. This was one of the best meals I have had in south central Louisiana. It was definitely worth the drive to Thibodaux. I had the fried catfish "chips" with coleslaw. The fish was cooked perfectly, the tartar sauce delicious, and the coleslaw was refreshing. My friend had fried oyster poboy with sweet potato fries - very good! This is a small downtown restaurant with excellent service. The inside was small, comfortable, and a little upscale for the area. I would definitely eat here again if in the area. Had lunch here and nothing has changed with is a great thing. The catfish chips taste the same as they did 30 years ago when I used to eat at the original location. The catfish chips are perfectly seasoned and fried just right. The Cajun potatoes are nothing special, but still pretty good. Service was great. read more

After dropping my son off at a football camp, my daughter and I decided to grab breakfast...we dropped in about 1030 and were greeted by the wait staff who was attentive, friendly and provided very good service. The atmosphere (ambiance) was perfect for a Saturday morning breakfast. We ordered the house made boudin egg rolls and they were so good I had to ask where I could get the boudin. They make it in house but don't sell it...yet. They really should because it is some of the best I've ever had! My daughter got a chocolate chip pancake and she said it was delicious. I got the crawfish crab cake eggs Benedict with home style potato's. If I could have eaten the entire thing I would because it was delicious. We stopped for lunch during the Thibodaux Fall Festival. While all tables were taken we only waited about 5 minutes for a table to become available. I was hesitant to come here because of the reviews but we thought it was a good lunch with ok service. The service could have been better but considering how busy it was I'll give them a 3 for service and 4 for food. I don't remember the name of our appetizer but they looked like empanadas and were delicious. My husband enjoyed the fish chips and fries. Both were hot and crispy. Rein and taking out said we were dying in seated us was nice and everything. My husband ordered me a restaurant came back, it wasn't strong enough for me so I asked for Coke. I ordered crawfish. He had a shrimp Poboy with fries. He didn't eat mini fries and he didn't eat the fries. They had to be cold or not good the roux was very dark no seasoning actually awful and was not heated. The stew should have been hot. Was not hot at all the hush puppies was the best thing on the plate very overpriced. The food was I thought it was. Amazing find! This place does not look like much but wow is the good great, service fantastic, and just a fun relaxing place to get a great meal. I was in town for one night and wanted something local. This place was just that. The waiter told us he was new but you would never know it. He recommended a local beer and it was very refreshing and one of the best local brews I have had in a long time. He suggested a few items and I chose the crawfish stew. It was full of crawfish and had a great flavor. I could have eaten it a second night if I were still in town and been very happy.
