I ordered Ryan's personal sushi service for my dad's birthday party. We had 10 guests and the evening was a great success. Ryan was personable and the sushi he made was fantastic-everyone was delighted by the process and intrigued by his artistry. I was concerned that perhaps there would not be enough food to go around, but there was plenty-in fact, Ryan prepared so much that over a full tray was left over which my parents had the following day for breakfast lunch and dinner! They loved the experience and won't stop talking about how fun and original it was for a birthday idea. Ryan was prompt and professional in all his correspondence with me before the event (I was coordinating it from California and he is in Massachusetts). He answered all my questions and came prepared with all the necessary ingredients, utensils, etc. so we really didn't have to do much at all. Chef Ryan is the best!! My bf suprised me with the most thoughtful xmas gift ever. He arranged for me and 10 of my friends to get a private sushi lesson at my house. My bf and another friend also got dressed up and bartended for us, mixing all type of drinks and serving wine. Great idea for your significant other!! :) Chef Ryan's homemade spicy mayo is hands down the best I have ever had. I wish he'd sell it by the bottle. Very spicy but we were making our own so everyone could use what they liked. He taught us the basics and let us make any rolls/combos we wanted, answered questions about how to make sushi rice, etc, he even made a riceless roll for a non-carb eating friend. We did inside-out rolls, seaweed on the outside, small rolls and jumbo rolls. When we all had a chance to try and were busy gabbing and eating the best sushi ever, he just kept making more exotic rolls for us to try. We filled tupperware with the leftovers, and he left extra soy sauce and chop stix for us. Best party ever. I recently hired Chef Ryan for a small dinner party for family members in my home. My husband and I entertain often and, thanks to Chef Ryan this was one of our most delicious parties to date. Chef Ryan was great! We hired him for a birthday dinner party last weekend. He arrived an hour early to set up all his materials- we didn't have to do anything but provide space. Before coming, we let him know a couple of sushi preferences and food allergies, so he brought specific ingredients (the spicy mayo and sweet potato bits were amazing). Ryan was professional and friendly. He made us all kinds of sushi, showed us how to make it, and each of us took turns trying our hand at rolling. I hired Ryan for a friend's bachelorette party at my house and he was fantastic! I have to say I was very hesitant as I normally do all the cooking, etc for my parties...so I definitely felt nervous about the prospect of 20 women coming to my house for a party and having NO IDEA what to expect from the food/catering. Ryan had been very responsive to emails leading up to the party, so I knew he'd at least show up. Well, not only did he show up...he did an excellent job!! Hired Chef Ryan for my husband's 40th birthday party. We had about 15 guests. First- the sushi was DELICIOUS. You can tell he uses fresh, quality ingredients. Also- leading up to the event, Ryan was extremely responsive; planning was ridiculously easy. He assured me multiple times that no one would leave hungry- and he was not joking! We had two full platters of sushi yet to work through by the time he packed up. A couple of guests even took sushi home and remarked on how delicious it was even the next day!
