I understand…read morethe retail environment is being hit heavily by the ease and convenience of online purchases if you can wait a couple of days for an item. But what I don't get is the way these places are causing their own demise. We came in for some Avery 5366 file folder labels. $65 was the approximate price for 1,500 labels. I don't need 1,500 labels; I needed perhaps 100. The price seemed unreasonable too. And it was. Looking at several different other sources the price was less than $30 in stock in stores nearby. Stores such as Walmart. So, being curious, I looked at random items and discovered that just about everything was 50% to 100% higher than it's competitors. Two things I take away from this. The first is that Office Depot's leadership is detached from what people are willing to pay for products. The second is that when I need something and Office Depot is the only option, that I am getting totally taken advantage of by their pricing. Can't say I'm not coming back because in my area they are the only option. But will feel like having a bully take your milk money. By the way. I just hand wrote on the folders. I'd rather not get robbed buying labels.

Her response "everything is going up" after a few more clarifying question she admits paper has gone up lately. However I quickly realize she's a smart ass bad salesperson with stinky commission breath. I walk away and go to the aisle to comparison shop. I find the same paper hidden in a remote corner 2/$16. I grab 2 and go to the counter and ask why is it one price up front but another hidden in the aisle, same paper. That when she tells me yeah I would have told you after you grab them upon ringing up. BUT YOU HAD ALL THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE WHILE I WAS ASKING ON INITIALS CONVERSATION. Expressing my disappointment she tells me not to be upset about it. I won't be going back to Office max, and the less than slick, snake oils salesman type cashier made it worse. Like I told her. People are hurting for $$$ and yall are doing this.
