I came in to have several records professionally cleaned, and Matthew was incredibly communicative, friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. He gave me a ton of helpful information and education on how to set up my sound system for the best possible quality, and he even personally tested all of the records I brought in after cleaning them. That level of care is rare. He also kept the store open just for me since I was coming from out of town, which says everything about how much he cares about his customers and the vinyl community. The shop itself is clean, well-organized, in a cool location, and has a great inventory with plenty of unique and hard-to-find records. They also offer professional vinyl cleaning, which I've had a surprisingly hard time finding anywhere else in the Bay Area. There is no better person or shop to support if you're a vinyl collector and care about stellar customer service. I can't wait to go back, and I'll absolutely go out of my way to support this amazing shop and Matthew.

If only you could learn about Originals Vinyl as I did you, you'd understand the 5-star rating…read more The best way to experience Originals Vinyl is to happen upon it by chance, when you're out walking the neighborhoods. Wander inside, enchanted by the sounds emanating from the spinning discs. Rifle through the modest bins of records, each labeled, organized, perhaps even curated. Stop to inquire about the big machines you see behind the counter. Learn that this is where you can bring your LPs for whatever the world has decided is the best way to clean them. Wish that you could just hang out on a sofa here, drinking in the sounds. But this is not a place to linger unless you're looking though the bins. It's intimate and the vibe is whatever the owner or staff is spinning at that moment. On this visit, it was a pure delight.

Vinyl Dreams is quite possibly the best dance/electronic/house/techno shop in the country. If it doesn't have what you're looking for, Mike, the super kind owner who was a longtime buyer for Amoeba, will probably be able to track it down for you. My dude, a DJ with an encyclopedic knowledge of dance music, spent hours digging here and could have easily stayed longer. I got an OG pressing of Mouse on Mars' "Autoditacker" and successfully talked myself out of buying "Artificial Intelligence," the legendary Warp compilation that kickstarted IDM (I know, I dislike the term, too.). I'd never seen it on vinyl before. Copies go for $$$$. Vinyl Dreams is a labor of love. An essential stop in SF.

The grunge, the passion for music, the crates of records, and the dude behind the counter actually spinning real vinyl. This is why San Francisco is amazing. There's something special about walking into a shop like this. It doesn't feel corporate, curated for Instagram, or overly polished. It feels like a real neighborhood record store run by people who genuinely love music. I couldn't NOT grab something while I was here and ended up walking out with the Electronic Artists Collective -- AIR 12", a copy sourced directly from DJ Spun's personal backstock. A little piece of Bay Area underground electronic music history and the perfect souvenir from a place like this. Way cooler than buying some random mass-produced SF keepsake. Vinyl Dreams is the kind of small, independent shop that gives Lower Haight its personality. A little gritty, a little funky, and full of character. Places like this are part of what makes San Francisco special. Long live real record stores and real vinyl.

After calling other estate sale companies we decided on The YES Co. We are glad we did as they did not disappoint doing our sale. They exuded expertise and effort in all the aspects including organizing, advertising, pricing, customers, etc. Since we lived out of the area we were glad Kevin kept us informed constantly through regular emails with photos, It was a great comfort to our family that our mother's life long possessions were handled and displayed in a dignified manner. Seeing is believing. They did everything they said they would. The financial results were also most rewarding and the house was left cleanly condensed. The YES Co does what they promise!

My parents were in the home for over 60 years and there were multiple surprises; the team separated those items for my review including items that had value and significance that were stashed away. My parents were merchants and in retirement had worked for a competitor estate sale company for over a decade where my father provided me with his (fatherly) advice to choose a compant with integrity. Kevin Black and his team showed integrity. The entire process took about six weeks where Kevin provided a balance between empathy and reality on execution of a successful sale in 2026. Kevin managed my expectations and the results were in line with his predictions. Kevin outlined what the strategy would be over the four-day sale and provided updates at each step. I see the critical success factors in this experience are as follows: Knowledge: A realistic approach on how to market and liquidate a large quantity and variety of goods in 21 hours over 4 days. Team: I was present for some of the preparation time and the team was extremely hard working and collaborative with one another to assemble and collate the merchandise for a coherent presentation. I feel like the team was there to maximize the return for the client. Marketing: Kevin is a master at marketing through all channels. For the items that could be challenging for effective sale over a weekend, he offered alternative solutions that I agreed to and was pleased with the results. Presentation: The initial opening of the sale, goods were effectively displayed and highlighted. Throughout the sale, as items sold, there was an executed strategy to bring the next items to the forefront. Communication: I wanted to give Kevin the space he needed to execute without being a high maintenance client and his updates put me at ease. As far as results, the proceeds were two times what I anticipated, no complaints from the neighbors, and the house was left in the condition promised. Kevin is the ultimate estate sale ringmaster from initiation to final clean-up.
