I would like to take this opportunity to express my greatest appreciation to Kevin and the team through the process of liquidating my parents' estate this past weekend. My parents were in the home for over 60 years and there were multiple surprises; the team separated those items for my review including items that had value and significance that were stashed away. My parents were merchants and in retirement had worked for a competitor estate sale company for over a decade where my father provided me with his (fatherly) advice to choose a compant with integrity. A dear close friend of ours suddenly passed away leaving only one relative to deal with administrating his estate. It was a very difficult time. After considering other estate sale companies one stood out above the rest it's named The Yes Co. owned by Kevin Black. Kevin's website is very thorough and well maintained. In my research there wasn't a website for Estate Sales that came close to the detail on The YES Co. website. Many places did not answer their phone nor return my call. The YES Co ran an absolutely smooth and successful estate sale for our family. Kevin and his team were professional from the start and the whole operation was impressive. Their extensive advertising/marketing brought in lots of buyers which resulted in a financially successful sale. First of all, their strategy in dealing with a complicated parking situation was very creative. Being a packed San Francisco house, they definitely had their job cut out. There were many heavy items - brass, cement, plaster - that needed to be moved from room to room, and floor to floor. They did it all gently and safely. My father had many interesting collections, both valuable and not so much all mixed together. With precision, they separated the sellable from non-sellable items and removed whatever they could to make room for the actual sale. Since the event occurred onsite, and due to the narrow layout of the property, it was impressive to what extent they were able to clear the house and set up all the various pieces of artwork, books, statues, furniture, musical instruments, and tools. What they did with the backyard was a "work of art" in its own right. I believe how they staged the home (and separated the sale into theme days) was instrumental in its overall success. Finally, they helped us find a hauler to remove the remaining unsellables and ultimately clean the house, making it ready for sale. Since I had to coordinate everything from Southern California, I was pleased with their regular communication, pictures, and updates on the sale and all other relevant matters. This review is from the perspective of a patron of estate sales. I've gone to about 4-5 Yes Co estate sales around the bay area. Pros of the Yes Co: hidden gems to be found, clear signage, and fantastic photos of the estate sale online so you can decide whether to go. Cons of the Yes Co: It is unclear whether they respect a sign-up sheet, they are quite firm with pricing and can be pricey ($175 for Gucci loafers), and I have witnessed Kevin be quite rude to other employees which made me uncomfortable. Overall if you love taking through pins to find some treasures at a good price and enjoy state sales I would recommend signing up for their mailing list. Just a warning: it will be a little bit stressful, and they may not act like they are happy to take your money. read more

I would like to thank The YES Co from the bottom of our hearts for the liquidation sale of our family friend's longtime vintage toy store of 6,000 square feet. When my friend's father passed away we did not know what to do until we met Kevin. We were totally impressed with his thorough presentation and recommendation letters. Kevin was like a circus ringmaster synchronizing every move to organize the many items in the store as it was truly a disorganized mess to begin with. Our uncle was a merchant who sold jewelry, beads and jade on the streets of San Francisco for over 30 years. After many trips to China his house and basement became a warehouse packed with thousands of jade pieces from stones to beads to bracelets to figurines that he planned to sell in the future. He passed away before he could realize his dream of opening a store.  In addition to regular household items and furniture, he had hundreds of antique masks from Mexico carved from wood and crafted from metal.  The volume was astounding and we couldn't fathom how to deal with it all!  That's when Kevin and The YES Co came in to save the day.   Kevin assured us that his team would be able to sell almost everything in a four-day estate sale "Event". They transformed a house with chaotic boxes of inventory into a clean systematic showcase. This made it easy for customers to peruse a vast quantity of items with well-marked prices. This company stated on their website that they informed the neighbors of an estate sale and to not block driveways. They said there was ample street parking. They did not notify any neighbors. I informed them ahead of time that I was having a contractor come to my house on that day and the owner parked IN MY DRIVEWAY. He did not ask to use my driveway. He did not apologize, he accused me of being territorial because I wanted to use my own driveway. He then said that he had been doing this for 27 years and people should be understanding in the neighborhoods. Again, he misrepresented himself on the website and was rude to me when I just asked to have access to my own driveway. I was going to share this sale on social media so neighbors could come, but I won't now. What a shame he can't be cooperative and respectful in the neighborhood. The owner has since replied to my review with incorrect statements. He was angry when I asked him to move his minivan. He argued with me for at least 3 minutes in front of customers and then asked why it was such a big deal that I was in his driveway. He was dismissive and called me TERRITORIAL. I was flabbergasted. When I told him I had constructors coming, he pointed to his head- to indicate he couldn't hear or didn't remember. We are a small community and all get along here. The deceased owner of this home, whose possessions he was selling, would be so offended by the way he treated her neighbors. Again- if he could have so "oh I'm sorry, I thought you weren't home!, let me move my car" I wouldn't have even posted this. He argued with me about whether or not I had the right to have the space in my driveway, called me territorial and would not move at first. Respect the communities that you are going into and selling around. Putting up signs at the major intersections blocks away from the home does not indicate notification of neighbors. A roofing company recently put little notes on our doors saying they were replacing a roof down the street, to please be patient with the noise and trucks . Guess what? Due to their consideration, another neighbor is now hiring them to do a job. This is how you interact with the community. read more

This review is for all the hard work The YES Co did regarding my relative's house. It was "packed to the ceiling" but they still organized it for an estate sale so orderly, cleanly and quickly. It was nothing but amazing. When I first went through the premises I thought it would take me a year to get it cleared out and ready to sell. I started to lose my mind with this enormous task in front of me. Then I was introduced to Kevin "AJ" Black and company. I am so grateful as he gave me back my sanity! We literally had thousands of eyeballs on my Mom's beloved antiques before the sale even began with your website listings, email blasts, and Craig's list posts. My sister and I were quite impressed. So, he held pop-up sales prior to the main event estate sale. That really helped in clearing much needed space inside the house. Kevin posted well written, richly detailed listings on his website and on Craigslist with tons of pics. He sent out emails to his thousands of subscribers. He placed estate sales signs all over the neighborhood. His smart marketing drew in robust crowds on every day of the sale, with lots of purchases being made. To anyone walking or driving by, the sale really looked like a big event. Because it was, thanks to Kevin. My brother-in-law, who lives in the city, dropped by the sale a number of times, and was highly impressed by how well run the sale was by Kevin and his team. He told me that Kevin and his team were always friendly and helpful to everyone who came by, no matter how busy they were. His team was constantly working, taking care of customers, reorganizing displays, and moving items if Kevin felt they'd be better displayed elsewhere. Throughout all of this, Kevin kept in touch with us, through many texts(not Kevin's favorite thing LoL) and calls. Kevin updated us every day, and we greatly appreciated it. Even though we weren't there on any of the sales days, we felt like we were, thanks to Kevin's open communication. At the end of the last sale day, Kevin and his team cleaned each room, the garage, and the entryway, and left the house looking much better than it has in decades. A very good elderly friend asked me to express his gratitude to Kevin and The Yes Company. He stated they are "logistics wizards"! Being 30 years in business his antique / books store was stacked with boxes from floor to ceiling with thousands of books and collectibles. Kevin and staff devoted 5 weeks with the first 3 Waves, as they called them, at another location (which they even found and rented for me). The latter "2 Waves" were at my actual store site since there was now more space to properly organize my mountains of merchandise. A very big thank-you to Kevin, Vicky, and The YES Co. team!  My late parents' Hillsborough house is located on a narrow street, with a steep climb to reach the house and more climbing to do when you enter - it covers over 5,000 sf and four stories from garage level to top floor.  YES took on all the extra altitude and arranged a cohesive, comprehensive, and secure sale that has monumentally reduced the work I have to do to clean out the house. Throughout the preparation period and the sale, Kevin called me personally every day to let me know how things were going, even while conducting the sale, and sent many, many, many photos and updates of the prep process and the sale.  YES Co. made sure that the big items were moved out of the house in a way that preserved the safety of the buyers as well as the walls and floors.  When it was all over, The YES Co. sent a check by the end of the week. The YES Co. recently completed their 2ndestate sale for me. I was about to say it was the 2nd time I worked with them, but actually they do ALL the work! The circumstances of the two sales were quite different, but both went smoothly, efficiently, and successfully. My first experience with Kevin and his capable team was when a loved one died unexpectedly, leaving behind a vast amount of collectibles, professional tools, household items, clothes, etc. The YES Co. stepped in to sell the items and everything happened right on schedule. The sale of his possessions was surprisingly lucrative for his estate. The YES Co. made my job as executor as stress-free as possible, solving logistical problems and sparing me the pain of interacting with hundreds of objects that were full of memories. About 1.5 years later, my spouse and I had to downsize from a large home to a much smaller one. Considering my previous excellent experience with The YES Co., calling Kevin again was a no brainer. As before, everything went on schedule and exactly according to plan. Kevin's communication throughout the process was consistently great. He set our expectations realistic and provided frequent updates during the sale. Kevin's friendly manner and obvious pride in doing a good job made parting with our treasured objects less emotional. I consider myself lucky to have found Kevin and his team at The YES Co. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for their thoughtfulness and their incredible work ethic. They really do go above and beyond, not just with the sale itself but, simply put, also tying up loose ends after the sale and leaving the house clean and organized, all of which exceeded my expectations. Kevin and his team executed a successful estate sale for my parents' home, which had an overwhelming amount of belongings. The team at The YES Co is exceptionally capable and experienced with every aspect of the sale, from advertising, planning, organizing, selling, and even helping me figure out next steps after the sale. They are hardworking and efficient at organizing the items in the home, working through the December cold and rain. While this is already impressive as it is, they also are extremely meticulous and organized when it comes to the logistics. This includes signage for the sale, managing the entry/exit points of the house, controlling crowds, and making sure everyone stays safe (e.g., removing trip hazards or marking with tape/paint, marking turns/steps in the home, etc.). My parent's home is on a big street with no front driveway access and has a one-car-wide easement in the back. He had clear and large signage (and sometimes a staff member!) to ensure no traffic jam nightmares (between customers and for neighbors). He also reached out to neighbors to inform them of the upcoming sale. It was amazing, the level of contingency they accounted for. They thought of everything! This no doubt comes from not only their years of experience in the field but also their attentiveness to detail and their respect for the process itself. This estate sale was an emotional process for me. The YES Co made it easier for me and kept me informed of the progress of the sale. They executed the sale respectfully, pricing and displaying items in a tasteful and professional way. The amount of items sold was impressive and the financial results were outstanding. Also I am glad that many of my parents' items found new homes elsewhere. Last but not least, even though I had gone through the house myself beforehand, staff members also collected items of potential sentimental value to see if I wanted to keep them. They even kept small items (fixtures, water filters, etc.) that were associated with the house in case we needed it for subsequent repairs!
