Went here for a simple manicure with regular polish, and boy was I disappointed. They clearly don't have the knowledge or equipment to do proper manicures or pedicures. They literally rolled up a desk and used a hair cutting chair for my sisters manicure, which she ended up not getting. I have gotten tons of manicures in the past and this lady clearly had no clue what she was doing. She left my old clear nail polish on. Cut only some of my cuticles, barely filed my nails, did the lotion and "massage" after my nails were wet and painted. Within 2 days, 8 nails were chipped and 2 were completely ripped off. AWFUL manicure, would not go here again, not sure how they even stay in business. read more

This is a small, full service salon. They have hair, makeup, and nails (and I thought I saw a cabin for facials/waxing, but not sure). Came in a bit early for my appointment and they were obviously very busy with a group of girls preparing for their bachelorette. Even with that, they washed my hair promptly for the blowout and when they saw I was interested in makeup, said they could accommodate me for that as well. Did my hair with Marco, who did a great job, leaving my hair with lots of volume, as I asked. Slava did my makeup, and she was also great. She understood the type of event I was going to and gave me a classic, soft look. Price seemed ok, not inexpensive but not too much either. About 50 for each service. read more

Ofeyla is a true hair artist. She is best at blow drying and styling. Her cuts are very technical and has a creative flare. I really like the blue sea salt oil treatment for my hair. They do seem a bit under staff but they seem to do anything to accommodate. I enjoyed the tour of the salon and they have a very cool basement with a mini sauna that has infrared lights with some spa music. She is very caring and always means well. Loved this place! I'm from San Francisco and was here for the Gran Prix and called last minute for a hair appointment for me and 2 colleague. The owner was so sweet and opened an hour early to fit the 3 of us into her busy schedule. We arrived and were greeted with a warm welcome by her and her staff and given coffee and tea. We all got blowouts with lots of volume and curls and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Would definitely recommend this place. They do a great job! I booked into O'Folie from Perth Australia desperately needing a wash and blow-dry for an event in Montreal. It is without doubt the best blow-dry I have ever had and O'Folie put an Italian oil treatment through my hair which is the most amazing product that anyone has ever used on my hair. I visited the salon for the first time this week for an upper lip wax. There was no form to fill out and they didn't ask about allergies or skin sensitivities. After the waxing, I came home to notice that most of the hair was still there. I know the waxing doesn't get everything out but most places use tweezers or threading to remove the stragglers. Suffice it to say, there were more than just a few stray hairs. Also, the price on the website is 10$ and they charged me 12$. read more

This "spa" was walking distance from our hotel and seemed reasonable for an impromptu couples massage. Upon walking in, we were greeted and the aesthetics seemed nice. We were brought downstairs to the less than glamorous basement where the massages were to take place, it was then I thought we should just leave... and we should have. The room was unsightly, the floor not swept and dirty, massage beds were covered with beach towels, and the headrests not well secured and didn't appear all that sanitary (mine smelled). We had been left to change with little to no privacy... so we discussed quickly and my husband convinced me we should give it a try. There was no private changing area, the basement mechanics made noise throughout the entire massage and there was no relaxing music.... they made mention of it and perhaps that would have drowned out the loud noise coming from the basement equipment and upstairs, but they never turned any music on. The room was not warm, there were no nice smells and it didn't not offer a relaxing vibe. His masseuse seemed much more professional and delivered a good massage, worked on his shoulder which he indicated had been bothering him and used hot towels. My masseuse didn't seem to have any experience, perhaps she's the receptionist. She didn't seem know what she was doing or how to give a massage, she applied no pressure and my back feels no different after the "massage". She spent too much time on legs and overall I feel like she had no training or technique or any clue as to what to do... No hot towels were used. The massage did not last an hour, we were greeted at 4:30pm, the massage started maybe 4:45pm? They left the room a few times and at the "end" they just left for 5 or more minutes and then came back at 5:30pm to tell us it was over... not sure where they had gone, but we certainly didn't receive an hour massage. My husband was happy with his service and his masseuse made up for the less than "spa" experience. When asked upon checkout how the massage was, I replied "good" simply because I felt bad for the woman who did such a poor job, but as I left very disappointed, it seems helpful to forewarn others... go somewhere else :) read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. We were greeted by the owner, Ofelya who speaks both French & English who was extremely accommodating with our luggage. Both of us got manicures and pedicures by Natalia in this cute room (with a TV equipped with Netflix). The facial was also amazing and puts you right to sleep! It was the absolute perfect place to relax after a flight and before we checked into our Airbnb. Very professional and friendly and bonus we got to meet Ofelya's sweet pup Ocean. read more

O'Folie is a beautiful salon located in Old Montreal. The owner put a lot of money into this place. But all that means nothing if you aren't good, anyone can open a salon if you have the money. Honestly I doubt the owner of the salon even finished hairdressing school. She only seems to know two kinds of cuts and her knowledge in colour isn't any better. She is the sloppiest hair stylist I've ever come across. She did my colour and it turned a bright clown orange. That was definitely not what I asked for and I cried afterwards I was so upset with the results. She gave me a mis en plis afterwards but even that her blow dry was terrible. I was not happy with my mis en plis either. How can you even think of owning a salon if you aren't good yourself. It mystifies me if she even has any loyal clients because she's so horrible. The prices are not worth it, I find it rather expensive if you are going to the owner of the salon. They are good prices for the location but for the service and work the owner provides it's not worth 70$ for a cut and mis en plis. I have no problem paying 70$ if the person is good but the owner of the salon is not good at all. For that you'd be much happier cutting your own hair if you ask me. read more

I am a professional hair stylist in London, England. I work at a very high end salon in London too. Why would I be coming here you might ask. Well my husband has a contract in Montreal for work here for the next few years. I visit a few months at a time because I can't leave my clients in London for too long. I was too busy to get my hair trimmed before I left London. I thought I'd wait until I get back but at some point I said okay i really need a trim I have so many split ends. So I decided to drop by O'Folie as our flat (apartment) is also in Old Montreal. Ofelia the owner did my hair and oh boy was her work atrocious. I just asked for a trim on the ends nothing else but then she started cutting all my layers. I didn't want her to cut my layers because I can do that myself I just need help on my ends in the back because I can't cut my hair in the back. I told her "oh that's not necessary you don't need to cut my layers." And Ofelia said "Don't worry I'm just cutting soft layers." To be completely honest, I don't think she is a good hair stylist at all, she has very poor skills as a hair stylist. She lacks any good techniques, her techniques are very basic as a matter of fact. If Ofelia were to apply at the salon I work at in London she would be rejected. When I got home I had to fix my layers and soften the cut because she didn't texturise my hair at all. She created thick heavy layers and very hard lines. In fact she made my layers too short and a lot of layers reminiscent of 90's layers. Also, when you create layers like Ofelia did with my hair it can make your ends look very thin. At least I know how to fix the mistakes she did with my hair but those poor clients who fall victim to Ofelia. And the blow out.... I asked for bouncy waves and she made my hair frizzy. I already was not happy so when she was done I just paid and walked out. It didn't matter if my hair looked frizzy because I went straight home to fix the mess she made. I flew back to London for a week to have my co worker put Great Lengths extensions in my hair because the layers are gonna take some time to grow out and the ends were looking very thin from Ofelia's cut. Steer clear of the owner of the salon. The quality of work is not worth what she charges. As for the rest of the people who work there I don't know I won't go back to try other services. read more

Long story short, I randomly decided to cut my hair at the closest salon in here in Montreal while on our honeymoon. Ofeyla, the owner immediately greeted me and was happy to take care of me immediately. I also quickly noticed that she's very confident in herself and her work; as she should be. We had an amazing time at O' Folie Salon and Spa. Ofelya and her wonderful colleague spoiled us with a special request: A lovely manicure and Blue Blanc Rouge nail art for France for the World Cup! I enjoyed it so much that I came back with my son and got a pedicure. The pedicurist transformed my feet to perfection while my son soaked his feet too and watched funny cat compilations on the T.V. Then my son even agreed to get a hair cut. I sipped chocolate tea out of a beautiful English cup while Ofelya did an awesome job on his hair. This is a relaxing and friendly place with fair prices and excellent service. Ofelya is a lot of fun to talk to as well. read more

Please ensure you ask how much the total will be, as the main lady there will add you toner, treatment (without your permission) and who knows what else, at the end you may end up paying double what you thought, Secondly her blow drying skills are terrible, no professionalism whatsoever. Thirdly, if you are doing roots or covering grays, make sure to request a permanent dye (a friend of mine did her roots there and one week later she could see her white hair) There are a lot of places out there that will give you an exceptional service, this place is not worth your money or time. A completely excellent service from start to finish! We needed to get my son's hair cut before a family wedding and the concierge recommended O'Folie. It looked a bit too hip for us but the owner, Ofeyla, made us feel completely at home in her beautiful salon/spa. She gave munson his best haircut ever, and did such a great job that my husband decided to get a cut as well. Both haircuts were wonderfully done and reasonably priced. We wish we could take this salon back with us to California! There are also massage, facial and mani/pedi rooms, all of which are private, lovely and super clean. I booked an appointment for a hair trim for 2pm, 18 September, on the phone with a very nice employee who didn't mind speaking English with me, as I am only visiting Montreal for a short time and therefore don't speak a lot of French. However, I do understand enough French to know when I am not welcome... I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and the hair stylist was not aware that I had booked the appointment already, and he completely refused to speak English with me. Not even a welcome in French. Then he turned to his other customers and laughed about how I am obviously "not Quebecois"... I understand enough french to understand that. He then finally switched to English and told me to come back in 20 minutes. Of course I do not plan to ever let this person touch my hair, so I did not return. I have never felt so unwelcome in an establishment in my life... and all because of my nationality. I wish your website said "We serve Quebecois customers only" so I could have saved money on my Uber ride. read more
