Service was great. The lady was very nice, so it's a friendly place. It is a small building but it's not ugly on the inside. I ordered a 1/3 rack of ribs and baked beans. In addition, the other group member ordered the sampler of chicken, brisket, pork, and ribs. Ribs however, weren't good because they were quite chewy. Sides such as green beans and baked beans earn a plus because green beans were not greasy at all and whoever made those baked beans knew to add more than just simple beans to maximize the flavor (Brisket skin and sausage added). Meat itself was also good because it was flavorful, smoky, and barely had any bad pieces. If you decide to order from here, reconsider the ribs, that's all. read more

Ordered the bbq pulled pork, bbq beans, and chicken ettoufe. The food was good. I would try something else if I went back. This place wasn't what I expected. Everything was precooked and not everything had a burner. The white rice for the ettoufe came out of a zip lock bag. I'm a rice person and was not happy to see that. We were searching for something besides Subway off Hwy 70. We found this in Yelp and it was fantastic! Small place in a cool building from 1859. The owner was super kind and talked with us for awhile. The smoked meat was wonderful. My 20 year old had the Dune sandwich which was Brisket, Pulled Pork, Sausage, chicken and turkey topped with coleslaw. It was amazing! We will be back on the home! read more

This place is a small BBQ spot in Ogden right outside the Ogden gate. It's pretty good BBQ, with decent prices. The problem with this place is it uses microwaves for the food. I mean I use one at home for my food but I dont expect it when I go out for food that isnt a chain fast food place. I got there right when they opened and they still used the microwave to heat up the meats and all the sides. I do not believe there was one item that wasnt nuked on my plate. They also have a sink behind the bar with the food where they sat my plate on, with also all the containers of sauces in the sink for some reason. They pulled the food in tubbaware containers out of a fridge behind the bar and sat the containers in the sink as well. The food does have a decent flavor for a small spot in a small town with nothing else really available. I'd say try it once, and if you dont want to drive to JC, Manhattan, or KC this is a good deal for you. If they could get rid of the microwave and have fresh to order made food (the sides) I'd be a regular here. read more

Jimmy, the owner, catered several of my unit functions serving over 500 people at some events. Everyone was satisfied. Even if it's just a small function, like the Mayweahther fight, he came through for me once again and several other occasions. Hands down the Back Yard is the best dine in spot in Kansas. My wife and I tried the famous Author Bryant in Kansas City. Well after trying the Back Yard, Jimmy has proven to be better. I hate to be leaving here. Ft.
