Service and food were very mediocre. Took forever to get our food and it was just so so.

Yummy, fresh and, friendly too. Close to the interstate. Fair pricing. Worth stopping!

Eric R. and I talked about a day trip on a Sunday, but alas, Three Rings is not open on Sundays. Eric R. had the Storm the Castle bike race this past Saturday, so I agreed to join him in McPherson for the weekend so I could specifically go here! I first discovered Three Rings at Manhattan's Brew at the Zoo, which I went to every year until COVID. After that, it moved from August to later in the Fall and I am never here for it. I am not sure exactly when I first tried it, but my notes from the 2019 event show that Three Rings' Wanderlust was a favorite. I purchased cans of Wanderlust ever since, but there was a shortage in the past year and after going to six liquor stores, I had to get it in Lawrence an hour and a half away! I cannot remember when this was, but the owner and his dad came to lead an event at JP's in the K-State Union for beer and food pairings. It was so fun. Finally I get here and Eric R.'s race registration came with a free beer. The very awesome staff said we could do a flight of 5, but we wanted to try 6, and she was still cool with that! So we tried six beers: Fields of Gold (wheat), Yankee Rose (blonde), Wanderlust (red), Vertigo (IPA), Bulldog (oatmeal stout), and Acres Wild (farmhouse ale/saison). We loved talking with everyone at the bar, both next to us and behind the bar. We chatted with the owner/brewer, and another staff member who also has a creative writing background. Numerous people there were Texans like us, and we had a lot of area connections. A food truck outside was closing and brought us free fries, which was an unexpected bonus! We bought 3 6-packs: Wanderlust, Acres Wild, and Broadsword (dark Scotch ale). On the way out was an afternoon farmers market where we bought freshly picked green beans to make for dinner that night. It was a perfect place to hang out and I definitely want to return! Also, we learned there is no "fear" in McPherson and to just call it MacTown!

The speed with which our food came was surprising. It's kinda like a bar but not a bar. Hard to describe. We rarely eat pizza so it took a bit to decide. Some interest choices on the menu. It's NY style so big slices. It was awesome. The cook was perfect. Seasonings perfect and the feel of the place matched as well. It's pretty much serve yourself outside of when they bring your order. I'm good with that. We had a great time a med group of 6. It's hard to get kids together anymore. We sat at a nice long high top table. Thin and long. I thought it was perfect. We pass the plates and go. Parking could be tough some times but they have parking in the back as well as along the street If your wanting to have a quiet low stress pizza either by the NY slice or a large. Stop in. Ooh and someone beside us got an amazing looking sandwich so don't sleep on them. I'll try that next time In case I confused anyone. I highly recommend this place. It's tasty, great vibes and awesome staff. We live 90 minutes away and not our usual city of choice. If we lived closer we would be there more.

The name It's Just Wings is a bit mis-leading because there are fries too (chuckle). We found out…read moreabout this from a local facebook group that discusses new restaurants and food trucks. This is a concept from Brinker International that owns Chili's. It uses the same kitchen but only has ordering and delivery through door dash. Only in the recent era does Eric R. actually like wings. He likes actual wings, whereas I prefer boneless wings (or as people try to say in Nebraska, "saucy nugs"). The sauces sounded pretty cool. Eric R. got the smoked wings, with pineapple sauce and a side of buffalo, and I got boneless wings with ponzu with a side of black truffle sauce. Both came with fries and ranch. Eric R. did not know that so he ordered an extra side of fries for $2. Oops! I tasted a smoked wing and it was pretty good. I liked the ponzu boneless wings a lot. I could not taste black truffle in the truffle sauce. I think if we have a wing craving, this would be fine, but even though we did order right before the kitchen closed, it appears that door dash delivered a bunch of orders before ours so it took a really long time to get to our house (over an hour, and we live in a small town where the farthest drive from one corner to the other is 12 minutes). Whatever, it's just wings!
