In the end, I wound up asking those family members what they were thinking with these guys. The price was right, but it turned out to be one of those you get what you pay for situations - they run an 89.95/month system that covers all cuts as well as fall/spring cleanup. The biggest problem is they are beyond inconsistent with their service - I requested they handle us either thursday friday or saturday and was assured that would be the case. Nope, most cuts when they actually happened were on Tuesdays, leaving a long mess of a yard come the weekend and having company over. That's when they actually showed up - there were multiple instances of going 2 weeks or more with no cuts! The biggest offense of all was Memorial Day weekend, no show at all despite numerous messages left on their machine that were not responded to. Because we were having company over, I wound up having to get a mower & do it myself Sunday morning. And wouldn't you know? On the holiday itself, at 2 in the afternoon there they were and had the nerve to go over the lawn I'd just cut as if it was even needed. No explanations, no apologies. In fact, the only time I heard from them was when I got fed up and stopped sending payment - then magically I get phone calls telling me they'll have to stop service if I don't get up to date with them. So of course I laid out all my reasons for stopping payment and made it clear that I wouldn't be renewing for next season. This was met with apologies, reassurances and promises that things would be different if I stayed with them. So I gave in and paid what I owed, magically a truck shows up to collect the check within an hour and finally cut the grass. But wouldn't you know it, as soon as the check clears we go back to the same nonsense routine. As if all this wasn't enough, they have the gall to send a letter at the end of the season indicating that they're raising the rate to $129 a month! No thank you! I've heard from some in the area that this was once a great company to deal with, but that they wound up partnering up with someone else and everything went down the tubes. That may be, but they've lost this customer permanently.

Communication and access was very good and a proposal developed. All was well...until I gave them a deposit. Once that check cleared, I didn't hear from them in nearly a month. Repeated calls and messages were ignored. No one showed up to do any work. No materials arrived. Nothing. When I left word that I wanted a refund of the deposit, THEN they called back quickly - to tell me they don't give refunds, they will get to it when they get to it, and they don't usually return all messages until they find time. Unbelievable change in demeanor. Once I asked for the refund, they could not have been nastier. They took the (substantial) deposit and did no work at all. Nothing. They have open complaints with Suffolk County Consumer Affairs and don't respond to the BBB complaints. Do not use this company.
