I had an excellent breakfast at Ogden's! Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant itself was really cute too. I appreciated that the two unisex bathrooms were a nice size and separated from the eating area by a half-wall. In the interest of transparency, I didn't love my entree (spinach and feta omelette--my hashbrowns were a bit too salty and I didn't love the taste of the spinach) but everything else we got was lovely. I enjoyed the pigs in a blanket and partner loved his meal as well. Their house-brewed cold brew was fantastic.
Quaint breakfast joint had plenty of promise. Hole in the wall? Check. Nestled in cute neighborhood? Check. Long wait for locals and tourists alike? Double check! It set up expectations for a moderately underwhelming experience. You expect to be blown away, but it was hit and miss. French toast was very good. Not sure what kind of bread but it was square and sweet. Came buttered with Wisconsin maple syrup. French toast sandwich, however, made me ill. Two slices of French toast, with egg, ham, and cheese inside. The combo of sweet and salty made me nauseous. I couldn't finish it. Tofu scrambles, just ok. Chorizo scramble, better than average but looked burnt. Highlight was the hot chocolate. Flaked Ghirardelli chocolate, topped with house whipped heavy cream chilled and served with an ice cream scooper. Dense and sweet, it did not melt. Cherry pie was good too. Nice crust in a ramekin with a scoop of the whipped cream. Tip: order it first and get it before they run out.
It was crowded and small, but as a solo I got seated immediately at the bar (on a friday a little before noon) and my food only took about 10 minutes to come out. I'm not really someone that usually likes breakfast food, but this is just about as good as it gets. Very very solid food, highly recommend to anyone who loves breakfasts!

The HASHBROWNS! So good and the pancake was delightful as well. Perfect whipped salted butter with the maple syrup yum. Next on the docket to try are the blueberry pancakes and the tuna melt!

Most tables are for two. There are four seats at the bar. I think it's first come first served so do that. I saw a couple walk in and took the seats before another couple waiting awhile on the list. Bring your coat, in case, for extra looooong wait. Enjoy the flowers through the cracks. It's like a15-20 minute ride from the university so coming here is extra. Bring your patience. You can always opt to go across the street if they're open. The cafe and pastry place close early on Sundays. The server was nice. We liked the traditional French toast and my son go the last cherry pie. Glad that he got it. The wildflowers were a nice touch and the photos on the wall of maps.
Very quaint & welcoming! Most staff were women with tattoos, so I felt very safe with my first restaurant stop in a new city. LOL! I ordered breakfast meal with eggs, sausage, hash browns, & sourdough toast with orange marmalade. Huge portions. Cooked to order. Very pleased! Hashbrown reviews were accurate!! Very delicious & nice crunch on top. Server Kayla was super attentive and friendly. Very nostalgic decor. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!
Another great spot on the East side of Madison! Nice small diner across from other well established spots and serves up. A good variety of breakfast and lunch foods! Staff are incredibly friendly and throw great suggestions your way depending on your mood. The inside is cozy and a bit tight, so know your own comfort but it's definitely a vibe. The only "down side" (for lack of better words) is nothing really stands out. From trying multiple sandwiches, breakfast items, etc. it was all good, but can't really think of a "omg that was so good" type of item.
Ogden's has been my favorite breakfast spot in Madison. Randomly stumbled upon the venue when I went to Cafe Domestique - Northstreet for a coffee on a Saturday morning. Ogden's is a really cozy spot with limited seating. They don't take reservations, so would recommend showing up 30 min early and putting your party down and going across the street to Cafe Domestique to get a coffee. Ogden's prices are very reasonable and worth it for the food in my opinion. Their hashbrowns are so good (I always ask for extra crispy!!). The good service, quality and quantity of food, and price makes this one of my favorite spots for breakfast / brunch. Overall, would recommend!
This small, cozy diner is wonderful breakfast spot in Madison. I can't imagine how long the wait time is on busy weekends, but we were lucky to be seated immediately on a Monday morning at 9AM. The prices for the sides are a bit steep, and they aren't generous portions. The food was delicious, the coffee okay, but I would definitely visit again.
I really enjoyed my breakfast here. And the waitress was awesome! Looking forward to coming back again.
Just your typical greasy spoon in the middle of a cute little neighborhood. Not a lot of seating, so we had to wait about 25 minutes. The service was great and the food came out quickly. The Denver Omelette was (and I can't believe I'm saying this as a native Wisconsinite) a little too cheesy. My partner got the French Toast Sandwich and he loved it. I thought it was delicious as well. The fact that they use full slices of ham rather than cubed or diced ham is a nice touch! I wasn't totally blown away by my experience here. I might return. I might not. But I don't think I would go out of my way to recommend it to anyone.

Everything we had was delicious! Definitely a great casual breakfast spot to check out when in Madison! Ambiance is super cozy! Ummmm also hash browns and sour dough toast were standouts!

Darling and delicious! We walked up on a Saturday morning and only had to wait 30 minutes for a table (popped across the street and got a coffee and Bloom pastry to share in the meantime - ideal). The space is so cute and quaint inside: it makes you feel like you're in a cozy neighborhood spot. And you are! I love that there's not many seats in here - makes it feel extra special. Our server was great and attentive. I ordered the omelette with hashbrowns, and my friend got the breakfast plate plus fruit - both were delicious. Hashbrowns were plentiful and hit the spot! We loved dining here, and I'd absolutely recommend to others in the area! read more
Ogdens is a cute, cozy spot with awesome natural light. It's small so I would expect to wait for a table. The food tasted fresh and high quality which is awesome considering the prices aren't very high. The servers are fast, efficient, and super friendly! They made us feel very welcome and were very attentive. I will definitely be back! read more
Shame on me for not visiting Ogden's sooner as it's one of the better breakfast spots in Madison. I stopped in during the week and was greeted with a packed house in the small space. Luckily there was an open table. Although busy, our server was quick to top off our coffee (which was excellent btw). I opted for their omelette special-meatloaf with sautéed peppers, onions and provolone. The meatloaf filling was broken into pieces and sautéed with the other ingredients. The omelette was outstanding. Even better were their hash browns. I would go out of my way just for these. Truly a great spot. Highly recommended. read more

What a hidden gem! I am so glad we stumbled upon this diner! The review for crispy Hashbrowns lured us in. But the star was my feta, spinach, onion and tomato omelet! We live 4 hrs away, but we will be back! read more

Loved it here. It's a tiny quaint spot with delicious food. The staff is so kind and hospitable. The service was fast and the food was delicious. I ordered the omelet special and a coffee. The food tasted fantastic and didn't cost a lot. We will definitely be back again. read more

Another great Yelp find! This little diner is awesome! Went here on a Thursday morning for a late breakfast around 11am. They start their lunch menu at 11, but breakfast is served all day (I think they close at 2pm). Walked in to the restaurant and was greeted by a friendly host who took our name and said it would be about 20 mins before a table would be open. She took our cell number and said she'd call as soon as a table opened. My wife and I went for a walk, because there really isn't room to sit and wait in the diner. There is a bar across from the diner if you want a bloody, and a coffee shop and bakery right across the street too. Almost exactly 20 mins later, we got a call saying our table was ready. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of seating. Approximately 6 counter seats and maybe a dozen tables (most only have 2 seats). I would imagine the wait would be even longer if you have a group of four, and I doubt they can handle any bigger group. Once we were seated everything went pretty quick. Our waitress was awesome! So friendly and seemed happy to be helping us. Really liked that she laughed at my dumb comments or "attempt" at humor. She did make an error on our bill... but corrected it as soon as we identified it. I ordered a Ham & Cheese Scramble which came with hash browns and toast along with some great (Im pretty sure) homemade jelly. My wife had eggs and bacon with hash browns. We also ordered a Blueberry Pancake to spilt. Everything was really really good.... Just a great diner breakfast! BUT the Blueberry Pancake was remarkable. Had to fight off my wife to get my share! Lol If you are trolling around Madison looking for a great breakfast in a cool, off the main drag restaurant, you need to find this place. read more

I'm good at listening to whispers about food & I kept hearing whispers that this place was delicious and legit. Everyone was correct. Ogden's North Street Diner has an elegant and comfy rustic-modern ambiance, attentive service and delicious food. I got the veggie omelet (daily special) with one buttermilk pancake, real maple syrup and the hashbrowns. SO good. This is not a pretentious place; it's a place that cares about putting out good food. I will be back. New fave breakfast spot? Maybe! read more
Ogden's is a gem. It's a small, charming spot in the middle of a neighborhood. It seems like most everyone is a regular (for good reason) and I certainly would be too if we lived in Madison. The interior is bright and nicely decorated in shades of blue. Menu wise, expect updated classics and interesting specials. The mister opted for a braunschweiger sandwich that he really liked and I went with the daily quiche. It's served "popover style" in a flaky crust that would make Paul Hollywood proud - mine was tarragon chicken, bacon and cheese and it was spectacular. Served with a lovely side of fruit, it was a perfect lunch. Service is genuinely great - welcoming and friendly. No question - we'll be back! read more

What a cute little place! Lots of street parking available nearby. Not a lot of seating available but it's what makes the space very cozy. Great for groups of 2, no more than 4. We were greeted and seated right away. I ordered an ice coffee, one of the special omelette, hash browns and a blueberry pancake. I'm a half savory half sweet kind of breakfast person. The hash browns are soooo good and browned on the outside. I really wanted to try their quiche initially but the owner was out of town on leave. The pancake was light and fluffy with enough blueberries to satisfy my soul. Never felt rushed in the space. I was able to finish conversation and coffee well past eating our food. Not sure how this would be if it had been more busy but it was very much appreciated! read more
Brunch at Ogden's is enjoyable because the food is delicious and the service is on point. The space is cozy, so be prepared to wait a little while for a table. We put our names in one weekend and enjoyed some time outside. Although we somehow were overlooked on the list, the server was able to adjust quickly once we went to check in. I ordered one of the specials, the quiche of the day, which was egg-cellent :) The quiche was completely encrusted in flaky pastry in a way I have never seen before. It looked small at first but I ended up feeling very satisfied by the portion size. The tea was flowing throughout my brunch... Literally, as Ogden's has a nice selection of hot teas they serve. We had been to the Tip Top across the road for a while but had wanted to try Ogden's. We were not disappointed. It is a small place but at a bit before 9:00 on a Sunday morning we had no wait. I had one of the specials of the day, the flank steak and poblano pepper. Steak was well seasoned and the peppers and onions were grilled to perfection. And the hash browns were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything was great. The servers were pleasant and came to check on us just the right amount. We will be back! From what we could tell, they had taken steps to reduce plastic waste. No plastic bottles for anything. To go containers are compostable. read more

Dearest pancake connoisseurs and enthusiasts, it's my public duty to make sure you're aware of this establishment. They have pigs in a blanket on the menu. Not pancakes with a side of sausage. it's the real deal. Everything is the real deal. 100% best pancake I have had likely anywhere ever. If they had a frequent pancaker club I'd join it. Whenever you get a chance, get your pancake addicted self here. You won't be disappointed. Service was fast and polite. Short wait for a table but lots to do in the nearby area. read more

The place was very busy when we went here for the first time and they were short-staffed. Only one waitress. She kept up pretty well with the customers and was able to get us seated as quickly as possible. Another waitress showed up a short time later. Ordered one blueberry pancake with meat, tea, a daily special (mushrooms, fontina, green pepper, salami scrambled eggs) and a juice. The food was pretty good. The blueberry pancake had real blueberries (not canned) baked into the cakes and there were enough of them, the bacon was thick and crisp, the scrambler had fresh veggies in it. Decent place to go for breakfast. read more
