I took out break fast on a Sunday morning. I think the wait was atleast 30 minutes at that time. Oreo shake was nice and thick. Elvis pancake had a ton of peanut butter. It was so heavy, atleast 3 people are needed to finish one. Corned beef hash was probably my favorite breakfast item here. Steak scramble with crispy hash brown was good too. Chicken Fajita Skillet was surprisingly yummy! I was skeptical about chicken in my breakfast but it was well done with small bits of grilled chicken. Came with a side of salsa and sour cream which both added another layer. This was a great portion and also came with pancakes - what a bonus! The pancakes were nice and fluffy with a great salty whipped butter. Service was attentive even in the midst of a busy Sunday brunch. Will be back to try more of the (large) menu! read more

Absolutely love their meat lovers omelettes, with hash browns, and pancakes. We stop in anytime of the day and always order the same thing because it just never disappoints. The portions are generous, food is always delicious, the staff is extremely friendly, and the nostalgic atmosphere is fun. One of my favorite places to eat. read more

The service was poor and the food was average. The malts were exceptional. This was our first visit so will give it another try. We were seated right away and we both immediately ordered vanilla malts. This was a big mistake, not because they weren't the absolute best malted ever, but because each malted was large enough for 2-4 people. Seriously. We had a to-go cup. . They make the malted, serve it in a glass and then give you the container they mixed it in with all the extras. Bless them! I just have to say our waitress was distracted. Ok, not very attentive, maybe ready for her shift to be over? My husband ordered the corned beef hash and eggs with a side of sausage. I ordered the crispy chicken ranch wrap with fries and a side of ranch dressing. Our orders came out and were dumped on the table and the waitress disappeared and never checked in. This would be ok except no side of sausage and no ranch dressing. A ranch wrap without ranch dressing is depressing. I also like to dip my fries in ranch dressing. I couldn't flag the waitress because she was MIA. So less than stellar experience. . When the check was brought we voiced our concerns and noted that we didn't receive the sausage, please cancel from order and bring a box for the wrap. They did include ranch dressing with the left over ranch wrap and comped the malts. I would rather have had excellent service and paid for everything . This place was packed but the service was speedy! Very impressed. My husband and I shared the cheese burger meal and I'm glad we did! The portions are HUGE! Even with splitting the meal I couldn't finish everything. Ours kids also enjoyed their meals which made things easy. Excellent meal. We'll be back. Cute little 50s style dinner with a very good and varied menu. Lots of breakfast options, burgers and sandwiches and dinners. Started with a half order of fried cheese curds, delicious. I had the turkey dinner with side salad, mashed potatoes and gravy with stuffing. Pretty good. Hubby had the burger, cooked well done, topped with a slice of cheddar cheese and fried cheese curds. I had a couple of bites left on my plate and the waitress attempted to take my plate mid meal. A staff person asked at the end of the meal how things went for us. Went in for dinner at about 6:30. Staff was very nice and place is clean. Food on the other hand was HORRIBLE! If you like instant mashed potatoes, salty brown gravy, and cold vegetables you will like this place! Shrimp tasted greasy and perfumey which was weird. My friend's meatloaf was really dense and tasteless too. Maybe they are known for their breakfast and not dinner, but can't say I would go back and find out. read more

We love the diner. My husband and I used to go at least once a week. We last went on a Thursday. It was about 6:00. Not too many people there. We were told to seat ourselves. Eventually we got a server. We are used to friendly servers. The server was nice but she never came back after we ate. We waited, waived st staff, but no one came over with bill. We just got up and walked to the counter to pay. The older really grumpy woman said "cash or credit". I said "we didn't get a bill". She just repeated again "cash or credit". We paid and I said I'd never go back. We haven't so far. As we were leaving she announced "one more hour left until closing. Maybe for lunch, but I doubt we will be making our once a week truck to Gus's Diner. Food is great. Now, service sucks. read more

This 1950s themed diner is pretty okay. Service is attentive and accurate, parking is easy, and the food is what you would expect from a place that looks like this. It's cleaner with higher prices than a more traditional small town diner, and the waitstaff is younger; probably never called anyone "honey." Ordered delivery from Gus's Diner in Verona recently. Our meals arrived way earlier than promised. We ordered one chicken wrap with a side of coleslaw; and one gyro sandwich with soup as a side. I appreciated options other than fries, which may not get delivered hot. Both sandwiches were fresh and hot. They were very filling (makes for delicious leftovers). My blue cheese burger was one of the better burgers I've had in Verona, and it was a pleasant surprise to have a hearty bowl of chicken noodle soup accompany this dish. We've been coming here for several years now when visiting family in the area and while still good, things have changed. In a couple of visits over the last two weeks the food quality and flavor has gone down. Whereas we used to be "yeah, that food was really good!" this time it was just meh, enough to make us shop around for other breakfast spots. If you get the right servers, service is great, some of the new servers are way off. Never been in the store, only ordered on GrubHub. I can tell you this: in spite of the limitations of delivering food, it is always top notch. The corned beef hash is not canned like most breakfast joints/diners, it is obviously cooked in house corned beef, added to potatoes to make the hash. Top notch. The over easy eggs were perfect (tiny tiny tiny preference nitpick is that if the eggs were served on top of the hash, I'd get maximum deliciousness in every bite). GrubHub obviously has some limitations and the pie I ordered literally had no option to choose flavor. So the (I assume) manager called me and clarified. Absolutely top-notch service. I don't know what pie I was sent but it was ridiculously tasty. I should mention that I have ordered fish fry from here several other times. Easily my favorite fish fry in my Verona area. read more

Went on a Saturday morning around 10am and it was packed! We waited ~15-20 minutes for a booth and got coffee, country fried steak and eggs, the veggie scrambler, and pancakes. The coffee and pancakes were quite good, but the rest of the food was fairly average. Service was friendly but somewhat slow (I had to wait several minutes for coffee refills) and it was very loud, which made it difficult to hear sometimes. This is what you want in a Diner. Walking in, feels like you stepped back in time. But while the ambiance is what might draw you in, the food is will what keep you coming back. I first went here probably 4 years ago. It was good, but then this little thing happen called Covid, Maybe you heard of it? So lately I have been meaning to go back, and I really shouldn't have waited so long; The place felt a little dirty, but the food was soooooo good. We start with cheese curds. Possibly the best cheese curds I have had in years. They come with ranch, which isn't my thing, but the kids loved it. Then for the meal, the kids all had French toast. They thought it was amazing. And the adorable server had fun with my kiddos, and brought them some whipped cream for a topping. They instantly loved this server, as did I :) I got the Reuben with fries. So good. Literally the best Reuben I have had in 20 years. And that includes my home made Reuben which I have perfected over the past 10 years. And the fries. They are only eclipsed by this little place down in Illinois that I get to once a year. I will be coming here again. And again. And again. Yum! read more

Waited shortly for a booth and waited a bit longer to be greeted by our server. The atmosphere here is nice; a bustling diner with 50's themed decor and ambiance. The menu is pretty extensive for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ordered the Southwest Omelette with american fries and fruit, the boyfriend got Country Fried Steak and pancakes. The pepper jack cheese in my omelette was to die for. We ended up with a new server due to a shift change, and the server was super attentive and friendly.
