Sushi burrito with salmon, spam, lots of mix-ins
    William C.

I had a tasty sushi burrito with salmon and spam. Tons of mix-ins/toppings to choose from (some of them cost a little extra, but a lot of them are free). Also got the wonton chips, which were great, but they came with a touch too much salt -- if you're sensitive to salt, see if they can go light or not add any to begin with. Plenty of seating, and the decor has a nice Hawaiian beach feel. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Check it out!

Exeter is fortunate to have this wonderful and delicious poke bowl restaurant that started in Portsmouth. White rice, brown rice, quinoa, you choose. Then add the fish or chicken. The sauces are brimming with flavors. You will always be greeted with a smile. I always leave full! Great alternative to a sushi restaurant at a fraction of the price Going to Thirsty Moose? Soy poke bowl and pineapple grilled tofu musubi

I only recently discovered Ohana in Exeter. I have to say, Ohana is a lifesaver if you don't have the energy to cook but want something fresh and healthy. The online ordering system works great and orders are always ready for pickup (even early!). The food is simply delicious and fresh. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate the variety of fresh veggies and tasty tofu. Service is always friendly.

Your protein options are varied (I am partial to tuna or salmon) and there are sooooo many things you can add (edamame, cucumbers, radish, etc) it is hard not to overfill the bowl. Let's not forget toppings, either... from crunchy onions to nori flakes there is something for everyone. You can get delivery via some of the apps (such as GrubHub), but I would recommend either going in yourself to pick it it up or enjoying it there. It is small, yet pleasant and modern, and service is always with a smile. I'd be there 7 days a week if I didn't want to overdo it on mercury.

She went over their ingredients with me. She explained how to order to me gave me plenty of options to choose from. She was very friendly and professionally dressed. The price for two regular size bowls, one with fish and one with chicken or $30 which I found to be reasonable. The meal probably could've been split into two, but I ate it as a whole and it was very filling very fresh and good tasting just the right amount of each ingredient. Nothing tasted as if it had been sitting. It tasted very fresh. The cucumbers were crispy as well as the radish. I really enjoyed my experience here There is plenty of seating there is plenty of parking

It's the only way I can ensure the tuna looks fresh! And it was fresh from the looks of it so I was excited. I asked the server for a half rice and half lettuce bowl. She swiftly ignored me and then ignored me again after my second request. So two stars off for that service alone because she didn't even say whether the establish could do half and half at all etc. The server was on the younger side and seemed preoccupied, bored and unimpressed with my order. Her portions were not at all generous but they were not stingy either. So that at least was appreciated. She did however tap her feet when I asked for multiple toppings and two sauces. The bowl itself tasted delicious! I just wish I had a better experience. It felt like I was a nuisance to be there and for that experience alone, I will not return. The bowl was cheap either - cost upwards of $15-16!

Our only real option was two seats at the bar. We had quick and attentive service from the bartender. Interesting offerings for cocktails, and we enjoyed our drinks. The food I think can be best described as American/Thai/Asian. Food came pretty fast, and we started with crab rangoon, and possibly the largest we have ever been served. Fried up crisp, not greasy and generously filled with cream cheese and real crab. Next up, we tried the Waygu burger which was quite good, nice toppings. My only complaint here was we wished the fries were fresh out of the fryer. I'm really fussy about fries and like them hot, crispy and fresh. Sadly, these were not. I had my eye on the Choco Taco for dessert, and this was a sophisticated version of the classic frozen treat you may have enjoyed from the ice cream truck as a kid. Home made with great ingredients, it was a perfect finish to a very nice meal. I would definitely give these guys a try when in Newburyport.

OHANA MARKET KITTERY…read more Ohana Market in Kittery is a small food market which is a branch of the Ohana Kitchen in Portsmouth and Exeter. This store has a small kitchen space with a limited menu, offering grab and go foods such as a selection of premade foods such as poke bowls, sushi burritos, daily bento box, daily crudo, musabi, snacks, bottled & can drinks. Any poke bowl can be modified with added ingredients on hand in the store. I stopped in at Ohana Market recently in the afternoon. The selection in the open cooler case was limited including only the regular poke bowl size ($15.49 plus tax), which didn't seem too full. I could've gotten more ingredients added, but I did pick up a couple musabis including spam and tofu with sushi rice, $4 plus tax each. Those ready to eat snacks with provided teriyaki dipping sauces were very good and enough to hold me over for dinner. Within the same hour, I placed an online order for a Large Build Your Own (BYO) Poke Bowl ($17.49 plus tax) with 3 proteins and unlimited toppings from the Ohana Kitchen in Portsmouth, since I was heading in that direction. My order was on the counter ready to go, 20 minutes later. I got the poke bowl loaded with sushi rice, ahi tuna, salmon, shrimp, green onion, sweet onion, mint, cilantro, edamame, chili relish, carrot, cucumber, mango, pickled ginger, pickled onion, fresh pineapple, radish, roasted corn, wasabi, garlic crisps, shallot crisps, sesame, wonton crisps, and 2 sauces on the side, ohana sauce and teriyaki sauce. This poke bowl had a great mix of fresh flavors and it was filling to eat. I may consider going back to Ohana Market in Kittery if they offer a BYO option for the poke bowl with my choice of proteins, ingredients, and sauces. But due to the small kitchen, it is a great place to stop for grab & go bowls and more, if you're in a rush.

However, in the last few months I've seen some faltering quality- Poorly cooked rice, fish that was a bit too fishy or containing ligaments/tissue that should have been trimmed, avocado that's not quite ripe enough to eat. There's nothing better than a good poke bowl but there's also nothing worse than a bad one. The food here isn't cheap- price should reflect consistent quality. I've been a total of probably ten times... after the last two being bad experiences I haven't been back. I'm guessing it has to do with staff. When the shop first opened one gentleman was working the restaurant and it was evident that he was invested in the and quality of the food. They have since hired additional employees and the quality of the food has definitely suffered in his absence.
