Thee best pizza place with vegan options! My boyfriend and I typically have to drive out of the area to Lakewood or Cleveland for some vegan food and it's hard to believe this is here in Brunswick. We've been here more than a handful of times and will continue coming back. The pizza is always great and they have vegan meat to add onto your pizza if you don't wanna stick to veggies. I recently moved to the Cleveland area from Columbus and have tried 10-15 different pizza spots over the last few months. Ohio Pie Co is easily one of my favorites (not saying others weren't good). I have tried a few of their pizzas but the Heartburner is hands down my favorite! Interesting take on a pie. Similar to Chicago deep dish where sauce is on top, but sauce is used sparingly so a deep dish crist is not required. Quality ingredients, crust with a good chew factor. I must say we are "light sauce" folks for most places, the owner suggested we go regular and we did. Not disappointed in the pie or the suggestion. The sauce spiral on top tends to let a lot of the "wet" we don't like in many sauces evaporate. It leaves all the flavor with none of the mess. We also believe that this method encourages the bread to absorb the meat grease from the toppings that normally just lays on top. This makes it more appealing both to the eye and the pallet in our opinion. (In our defense we did ask for all toppings under the cheese so in this case that puts them directly on the crust.) So Pizza Oven is too far of a drive (my personal favorite on Cleveland Ave in Canton), and White Box is also too far (sadly, they're out of business), and Ohio Pie is conveniently located. So I decided to try it out. It's the best tasting dough with all the flavors from the ingredients soaked into it. Most places top the dough with sauce, which doesn't let the grease (flavor!) from the toppings infiltrate the dough. I think they use a garlic-oil coating on the dough also, and they put the sauce on top, a-la Chicago-style, which doesn't overpower everything else. Every bite is a flavor rush. I've brought this to friends' houses and they were sold. They don't skimp on sausage like Master's Pizza (one chunk per giant piece) - read my Master's Pizza review. Pepperoni is spread evenly and multi-layered in some cases. Kudos to that. It's just a pity they don't do doordash. A bad business decision, imo. Old 70s pizza business model: force ppl to have to order, then drive to your location to pick it up, then drive back home. Prices o.p. would be charged by doordash/grubhub would be more than offset in volume. How much does it cost to actually make pizzas anyway? C'mon ohio pie, it's 2019. Maybe they can't handle the volume. At any rate, I'll still be going here every once in a while, just not that often as I would if they had doordash. read more

We were very intrigued by the "ohio style pizza" and decided to try it while we were here from out of town. *Thanks yelp* and this place was very good! We got the fire bird (Buffalo chicken) and a cheesy bread. The cheesy bread was as big as the pizza! The dipping sauce including marinara, which we though was a bit sweet, so we were happy that we got it just for the dipping. Everything was very fresh and tasted great! Very pleased with this pizza shop, super friendly staff and cool shop. This is a medium 2 topping (Italian sausage and black Olive) pizza. The crust is delicious my kids who normally don't eat the crust ate it and loved it too! The shop is small but has three 4 person tables inside along with bar stools seating along the window and a few 2 person tables outside. They have a cooler of bottles and cans of pop and water. I really wanted to like them especially because they make vegan pizza and are privately owned. They have such rave reviews I was surprised at how much I didn't like their pizza. I've tried them twice, a regular pizza and the vegan buffalo pizza. I didn't like either. The vegan buffalo pizza had way too much sauce. It was just dough, hot sauce and the fake chicken. I will still try a vegan pizza, but 1 with vegan cheese. I didn't like their regular pizza. The Great American Pizza Company is the best I have found in Brunswick. I LOVE their pizza. read more

Returned to try Ohio Pie's pizza after our first attempt was only to be greeted by a sold out sign. Tried a vegan pizza with faux sausage & faux chicken & vegan cheese of course. Pizza overall was great but thought the sauce was on the sweet side and strange it was on the top of the toppings instead on the bottom. Staff was friendly. I'm giving a kind of grudging 4 stars here. The pizza was good, with a rather thick crust that had interior chewiness and exterior crunch. They slice it "Chicago style", which is sliced into small rectangular pieces. I like that too, as it's easy to eat and you don't have to commit to an entire large wedge when you want just a little more. The sauce was nicely thick and not too sweet. I wish the cheese had been melted a bit better, but I like the amount they use. Overall, a satisfying pie. The salad is a throwaway. They're giving no thought or time to it. It's not difficult to make a decent salad, especially in this day of pre washed bagged lettuce. Why the limp iceberg, unripe, out of season tomato and excessive mozzarella? Plus the packaged dressing, which, under the circumstances, was the least of the offenses. So I'll skip the salad and return for some good, not great, pizza. read more

First off, if I would have known they had a pickle pie, I would have tried it. Kind of on my bucket list of foods to try. I got a bio dome pizza (veggie) and a plain cheese pizza. The veggie pizza was amazing, with plenty of toppings stacked edge to edge. You definitely get your money's worth on toppings here. The crust is thinner than a normal Ohio pie but not quite thin crust, but it is crispy which is good. I finished a whole small pie pretty much in one sitting here. The basic cheese pizza was not quite as good with the sweet sauce a little overpowering. Overall, I would definitely try again and stick with something with a lot of toppings! read more
