The decor is absolutely lovely, especially the chandeliers and wall coverings. The tables had white linens and the booths were very comfortable, elegant and not old looking. The hostess who seated us had worked there for 21 years. She was very professional and proud of the restaurant. Our server, Terrence, was very pleasant and efficient and made us feel welcome. I ordered the lamb burger and fries. The burger was moist and delicious, the fries yummy. Everyone at our table enjoyed their lunch. Someone who I assume was the manager, stopped by to see how we were enjoying our meal. We all enjoyed the experience and are looking for reasons to drive back to Mt Vernon to visit the Alcove. This is clearly the source for craft beer, either to buy and take home or enjoy a glass on premises, even with a few tables outside. While I wasn't able to stay to have something on tap, there were plenty of people there after 5pm on a Monday. With at least four doors of cooler space dedicated to craft beer, the floor was divided up between beer and wine. Specifically on selection, you can be sure to find options from around Ohio and brands with more national distribution. I saw a variety of Mad Tree (Columbus) cans, a few 750 mL bottles from Rockmill Brewery (Lancaster) and since it was summer I got a six-pack of Revolution's (Chicago) rosa hibiscus ale. The Beverage Source doesn't look like much on the outside, but the convenient location off highway 16 makes this an obvious option if you are in the area, be it for a night or simply passing through.

They charge a fee if you use a card: their prices are the same as other stores who do not charge a fee to use a card. Anyways, I used a debit card and found out, after, I was charged a fee. They did offer to refund my charge and I could pay with cash but I did not have enough cash on me. In my experience, this is the ONLY store I have EVER been charged a fee for using a debit card or credit card. It just feels greedy.
