Great vibe at this brewery in Marengo not far from 71. Fun and playful art throughout the facility that matches their label art. Plenty of seating inside and out. We loved the arcade with several pinball machines and an old arcade cabinet with a few classics. The beer was IPA focused and they are masters at making tasty beer that hides the alcohol. I smoked a few and loved them all: Helmet Nachos, Everybody Wants Some, and South of Eleven. Good truck is just outside. We ordered and loved the southwest nacho fries. Tasty and a huge portion. Staff were uniformly friendly and answered our questions (I had many about the beers). Definitely will visit again when heading to Columbus. read more

Hidden on the back road is this cool establishment. Great atmosphere, large indoor area with plenty of seating, arcade, and unique original artwork. Beautiful patio with small huts, fire pit, pond, and walking trails! Quick service from the bartender, and good recommendations on brews. Whenever we are up this way, we always make sure to stop in for a drink! Plus it's right around the corner from Groovy Plants so both hubby and I are happy campers ;) Chill, casual spot with a great outdoor patio with a fire pit and little huts to sit in. Enjoy the beautiful pond or take your beer for a stroll on the short trail out back. Rather stay indoors? They've got plenty of table games and pinball machines to keep you occupied! As for food, they've had many options over the years but as of right now (Oct 2024), they have a Mexican food truck out front. I believe it is always there but double check. I just enjoyed the cheesiest quesadilla there. My husband and father absolutely love their beer. And they usually always have a sour on tap for me. I also like their Turbo Water (hard seltzer) - MUCH better than a white claw. They also have wine and some cocktail options so something for everyone. This place is a very cool find. We stumbled on it on our way home down 71 from Columbus. It's in the middle of nowhere, but that adds to its charm. Hoof Hearted is a large brewery with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, there are both regular and high top tables, board games, card games, an arcade and a variety of unique artwork. It's a very cool atmosphere. If it's a nice day, be sure to grab a table or chair outside. It's a relaxing environment with shrubbery and a pond. The beers are plentiful and cold. There is a large assortment of options. You get your grub from a food truck parked just outside the main doors. Order and pay at the truck - they will buzz you when it's ready. If Ohio had some version of Napa Valley it would be going to Hoof Hearted after a nice relaxing day hunting for plants and stopping by nearby Groovy Plants just a mile down the road. Family and pet friendly, this picturesque gem in the Ohio countryside is an IPA oasis. Some of the best you'll find anywhere and fun names and a great vibe. Food options are limited, with nice weather maybe a food truck or a pizza from nearby Ohio Pizza and Brew, the main attraction is the IPAs that HH shells out like a dealer handing you your fix. Hazy. Juicy. Nectar. Beautiful. While you can find these beers in stores and sometimes on tap, there's just something special about this out-of-the-way brewery that makes you wonder what the hell is in the water in the pond in the back patio? Whether it's pizzas with the little league team or a nice stroll through the countryside, Ohio's own Chateau Montelena delivers on all counts. Must see! read more

Great destination for great beer! They have a really nice patio out back with a pond, seating (including 3 quanset-type structures) and a trail to walk while enjoying your beer. Inside there is seating, nice restrooms, and some arcade/pinball games to enjoy for free! In the front there's another nice outdoor space with Hoof Hearted's own food truck. They do have non-beer options including a 'witches brew' frozen drink and their own hard seltzer. It's kid and dog-friendly. We'll definitely be back! read more

Really nice employees. Really. And that's important. Overall, the beers were quite lame. Over abundance of hazy IPAs which all tasted similar. Only one WC IPA which was really undistinguished. Nice place, but don't use your navigation system. It is slightly further when you approach it from Sunbury. You can't miss it. Pretty area, not far off I71 and SR 61. I'm just not into beer. The wife and I were visiting friends north of Columbus and after a trip over to the Groovy Plant Ranch we decided we were all ready for a drink! Being so close to Hoof Hearted we decided to head over there. We had seven folks in our group. We first went outside but being that it was so hot and the sun was direct we decided that a more enjoyable time would be had by all if we moved indoors. Although it was a Saturday afternoon in early August we were able to find a spot in the back of the other room. The beers I had & those of others that I tasted were all good. Nice and hazy, full mouth flavor. There was one 'beer' I drank that was not my jam- a version of a seltzer. But hey, you can't love every beer a brewery produces that's just not possible. There was what I would refer to as a food cart there. It was affiliated with HH based on the art on the truck. Served a couple different hot dogs and totchos. It was ok for quick eats but we were all still hungry. Not too long after we arrived, and had a snack, we decided that being still hungry so we ordered a pizza. It was through ChowNow so it was delivered by the restaurant, OH Pizza & Prime. The only real bummer is that I wasn't allowed to keep the sticker off of one of the cans of beer I drank. (HH always has wild can art. Many of their labels decorate our beer fridge.) It had been a heckin' long time since I've made it up to the Marengo HHBrewing! This is the first time I have been into the newer, area. The last time I was here you got your beer from the taps in the first building as you approach on the left and the back building was not quite finished (it was more of an open area with the walls and roof up). I know it's been finished for years now but it looks great & seems to flow well. I would like to explore the outdoor area as it seems there was a bit of a trail. With friends living not too far away from HHB I am sure we'll be back that way soon. (Much sooner than several years! :)) It's nice to see their expansion. read more

Easily a five star brewery. Let me just start out saying this beer is AMAZING! It's strong, higher percentage alcohol, and yet so smooth. On a whim we googled "brewery near me" and even though it was 25 miles from our hotel we made the drive. The brewery is on a side street country road basically in the middle of the country. It's awesome. You drive up and it looks very inviting. It's clean and very welcoming with lots of crazy fun art on the walls. They have food inside, although limited the paninis are great. They have an awesome outdoor patio overlooking a small pond and fountain with a walking trail into the woods. There's a game room for the little ones drinking Shirley temples lol The beer is some of the best I've had....you have to google and visit for yourself, you will not be disappointed! read more

Worth the drive for anyone a little farther away!! This place is awesome. Large front and back patios. Dogs are welcome on both patios, and there's plenty of grass space. There's a pond out back with a nice trail going around it and some hidden picnic tables. Good indoor area. The beers are always fantastic. They offer flights or regular draft pours. The bbq is from Oak Hill Barbecue in Sunbury - really good pulled pork sandwich and multiple sauces to try. The coleslaw is delicious. Outstanding selection of beers and brews in a rural setting fairly near to 71, with unapologetically undercooked and glacially-paced food service bring me to three stars. We waited an h o u r for a deep fried smoked chicken dish that wasn't cooked all the way through. Cook offered to take it back and cook it some more. And that was that. No thank you. I've been here 3 times and every time it gets better. I love it more than then downtown location even! The service is always excellent, I always get a flight and usually take suggestions on what to try and I'm never disappointed. There is outside seating in front and behind the brewery, the back has a view of the small lake and woods. The BBQ on site is pretty good, and always makes a vegetarian version of the nachos which is much appreciated. Last time I was here we took a walk through the woods and there are picnic tables out there so you can sit and enjoy your beers there too. If you haven't checked out this location, do yourself and favor and give it a try. It feels like it's in the middle of nowhere but it's only 30 minutes from cbus. Dog friendly! read more

Of hearted is a nice little local brewery. They have great events throughout the summer and the fall. Highly recommended.

Local joint only a couple miles past the post office so it's easy to find. It's a big distinct place so even at night it's easy to see with lights along the top. There's a pond out back with a fountain and walking trails. They also have a fire pit ringed by chairs and these sort of triangles with overhead heating lights so you can hang out outside even at night. Not a very efficient heating choice since heat rises not sinks, but they tried. They have a good number of pinball machines that range from 50¢ to $1 per play with various themes. Each machine has a cup holder. There's a change machine available since they take quarters to play. The decor is hideous with caricature style art with no real theme. I'm not a beer drinker so I rated this higher than I actually feel. The drinks were all gross and tasted weirdly alike. They have nonsense names like "don't microwave it". The menu changes pretty often. They typically have a food truck outside and occasionally an event going on like a pig roast or hosting Consolidated Electric. The staff is also friendly. Sometimes there are a bunch of kids so it is kid friendly. Good games, community involvement, and outside area. Bad decor. I didn't try the food and since I don't drink much I excluded the bad drinks from my review since I'm not the target audience. My parents also hated the drinks, but they also don't drink much. Love the beers! Great atmosphere to partake in the even better beers, can't wait to see what the additional buildings are gonna be. Always exciting to see what the brewers are experimenting with. When you visit HH, you'll get many different types of beers, not your usual IPA, Double IPA, Triple IPA that so many are stuck on. Parents, must you bring your children to a brewery?? PRO TIP: We found this place after leaving groovy plants ranch right down the road, and we were pleasantly surprised to stumble across this awesome brewery! We have frequented the brewery downtown in Columbus, and to be honest, I never knew this place existed way out here. The barn style shop was very friendly as you walked in and they even have an arcade game section for the kiddos. The beer was laid out on a digital board above the bar and the graphics on the cans is hilarious. There is definitely attention to detail when it comes to coming up with the fun graphics. We had 10 different beers across the menu and I have to honestly say I liked them all. Their tiki style beers were really refreshing and perfect for summer. The IPAs were really smooth with just the right amount of bitters. The outside drinking area was super fun and even had a walking trail with seats sprinkled along the way. This is a great place to take kids as they can explore while you enjoy some beverages. We will definitely be back as they seem to have some nice festivals coming up! read more

LOVE this place! We were staying up at my parents for the weekend and decided to stop in again because Hoof Hearted brews some INCREDIBLE beers! I had an IPA and coffee stout that were both phenomenal. They even had a sour that my gf really enjoyed. Cute little patio area out back with a little pond so we just hung out back there enjoyed some food from the food truck and sucked down a couple beers. And you know I had to grab some beer to go as well grabbing the rare-ish release of BBA Girth Brooks. Have not had it yet but am dying to crack it open. You can tell the beer is amazing because you just see people leaving with whole cartons full of stacked six packs. The bartenders are funny and keep you coming back for a good time. Look, I know and you know you're not checking "Yelp" on whether to check Hoof out, but not sure what else to do for their poor customer service. I drove to Hoof Hearted's "Dragonsaddle Day" for 2020 and I have to commend them for many of the elements they put into place for a quick and speedy pick-up; they should keep it in mind for future non-pandemic years. As part of their policies this year, they asked that you make selections on a sheet for which beers you would like to purchase, a team member would get your selections together, and then place them in the back of your car. Like I said, everything was very smooth and quick, but not precise. When I arrived back to my house in Cincinnati (2 hours away), I noticed that I had received a 4-pack of the wrong beer. I sent them a message on Instagram, which they say and ignored. I sent another message 2 days later and they responded. They gave me the option to either replace the 4-pack the following week or they were willing to refund my credit card. I was impressed and responded that I likely wouldn't be driving from Cincinnati soon (because I had just spent $250 on beer with them from that weekend, ya know? I was all set on beer for the near future) and asked if they could refund my credit card. No response for days. So I sent a message asking what I needed to do. No response for days. So I sent another message asking what I needed to do. It's now been almost 4 weeks of 'Seen' but unresponsive DMs on Instagram and obviously they don't care. I can be forgiving about a simple mix-up at pick-up, but you'd think they'd make an actual effort to make a customer happy with the commitment on my end (driving 2 hours to get their beer and spending the money I did.) This is inline with what I've seen from their customer service for the past few years as well. Great beer, shitty people. read more

Stumbled across this place in BFE of Morrow county. Went in to try a beer and was amazed by their selection (and delicious IPS's). Had a vendor in the place selling some very delicious barbecue. Don't be alarmed...it is in the middle of nowhere but very accessible from I-71. Great setting, awesome beer hall feel, and staff was very knowledgeable. Products to go were plentiful. I went here with my fiancé the other day. I ordered tofu tacos and a salad. Very very very delicious. I also had a nice glass of wine. The tofu tacos were one of the best I've ever had and Columbus. I was so happy that they had such a wide variety of vegan food. I've also got here in the summertime to go swimming and that's a treat as well. I order the frozé drink for the side of the pool.
