They asked me how long my car has taken diesel and who told me my car took diesel. They were very unhelpful and tried to put regular oil in my car and we had a repeated back and forth about it taking European oil for diesel engines. They were rude and just treated me as if I was a dumb blonde teenage female who's never taken their car to have any maintenance done whatsoever. I'm sticking to valvoline next time. read more

pulled in with my car running left with it on a flatbed truck with them blaming me for it saying it was my ignition or my key when it was the wire connected to the engine disconnected due to changing filter. Instead of working with me, they blame it on me and I still have not heard back from corporate a month and a half later after I had a signature from the manager stating he would cover anything. ****DO NOT GO TO SPEEDY 10 MINUTE OIL & LUBE**** I would advise you not to go to speedy 10 min lube....especially on Leonard! I got the new 2020 entertainment catalog...which has only been out for 10 days now, and tried to use their coupon. The coupon says oil change for $21.95 + tax. Before hand, we called the store to make sure they took the card/coupon, and when we got there, they said they didn't take the card....Explained that we just called, and Kevin(who we talked on the phone with) came out and said "we take the card, but it's only for $3 off"... uhm, nooo, and we showed him the physical coupon where it reads, oil change for $21.95 + tax, and he said he didn't want to argue, so just do it for that price...Kevin then goes back to his office to call his boss and I suppose they talk because he calls his teammate back over and tells him he just talked to the boss, and only do $3 off. So $29.95-$3 = $26.95...so yes,it was only a $5 difference, but that wasn't the point. They should've honored the coupon to begin with, without having a bad attitude. Definitely didn't want them working on our car after that, so we asked for the owners number and leave. We call the Alex who says he's district manager and try being nice, explaining the situation, but he didn't want to hear it, and just hung up. Tried calling back multiple times, but no answer. Very unprofessional. Guess they were mad we interrupted their standing around/smoke time. Atleast Kevin had something to say; Alex is pathetic and just hung up. Didn't feel like dealing with it. I was assured that every grease point would be covered. When I started to get out of my truck to observe their work, I was told to get back into the truck.When they said that they were finished with their work In asked the person who worked under the truck if he had greased the universal joints behind the front wheels, he indicated that he didn't know of grease points there. When I told the person dealing with me what his partner said he told me "we get everything we can get". My reply was that I wanted every grease point greased.At that point I got out of the truck and pointed to the area where the wheel universal joints are located, unlocked the 4X4 hub lockouts, and was again told to get back into my truck. I didn't get back into my truck but got down on my knees to be sure the other man found the joints. While the man was doing the greasing, he noticed a steering joint that he had not greased the first time and pumped grease into the joint.In the past, I have gone into this oil change business and they checked the vehicle lights, air filter, wiper blades, tire pressure, and belts. I believe Mr. Blickle is most upset about the fact that he was not allowed to get out of his truck to micromanage the technicians, however, this is due to our strict COVID safety policy we enforce regarding customers are to always remain in their vehicle during their service. Also, we reviewed our cameras, and it shows that everything was checked on the truck that Mr. Blickle indicated was not, and he was not told that the job had to be done quickly. We are a 10-minute quick lube center, and although we like to be thorough and detailed with our service, we must also get the vehicle in and out in a timely manner, which is what we pride ourselves in, the effective and efficient job we do. Mr. Blickle did not pay twice for his oil. Our oil change service includes up to 5QTS of oil, and his diesel truck requires 13 QTS of oil, therefore, the extra charge was for the additional 8QTS of oil and oil filter. I will use the Leonard St. location when I don't have time to get into Jack's service center. I don't drive one of my vehicles much so normally only change the oil once a year and/or when nearing 5k miles. Last change was done there on 5/15/18. I recently changed the oil myself before heading out of town for the New Years weekend because I was at the 5k mark and noticed that the oil filter was dated 4/17 from when I have the vehicle serviced at Jack's last. I can't understand why they would not change the filter when it has to be one of the most common filters used and easiest to get to. read more

I always get anxiety when it comes to appointments but the workers here really helped me feel at ease. They were really friendly and helpful. They talked me through the oil change as they were doing it and it was convenient because I stayed in my car the whole time. And it only took 10 minutes! Very questionable service. Tech straight up lied about whether he put washer fluid in, statement said he checked wipers--this wasn't done either. Makes me question the rest of the oil change. To amend this review--I had coolant issues with this vehicle shortly after an oil change. They claim to check all the levels, I find that really hard to believe. read more

My fiance' and I joke, that every time we get our oil changed at Speedy, we have to then take it to the garage for a repair. That's because not only are they quick and comprehensive with the oil change and basic fluid and vehicle inspection, they helped us discover problems with our car that we may not have noticed without their expert knowledge. First time this happened, they noticed a wet spot on a seal or something. Not a leak, but something that could have been a major problem if it failed all together. Next time, on a Saturday before we were leaving for a trip to Manistee and the casino, they noticed a nail in our tire. Would have sucked to get a blow out on the way to our vacation spot. I had my oil changed here about a week ago. Usually I get it done at the Valvoline oil change shops. I was sick of paying $80+ and have them always trying to up sell the oil change. It was a little over $80 here at least they didn't try to up sell. After I left for work a couple days later my wife told me my truck was leaking oil. I stopped by here again and asked if the could check the torque on the drain plug and filter. They assured me after they looked both everything was good. They said there was some oil spillage on the frame when removing the old filter and they cleaned it. Next morning more oil where the truck was parked overnight. I went to the car wash figuring the bottom blast would clean the frame where they missed. Next morning more oil on garage floor. Today I got underneath the truck to discover the filter wasn't tight. I understand mistakes happen but after returning the first time the mistake should have been discovered. Bottom line unacceptable service. At least Valvoline properly tightens the oil filter. read more

Poor Customer service. I had my oil changed at the Burton st location on 11/27. Everything was fine until the next day. As I was driving down the highway the oil drain plug fell out and oil started pouring onto my exhaust system. Luckily no damage was done to the engine as I was able to shut the car off in time, pull over and watch the oil drain out. I had the car towed to a local shop and they confirmed that it was the oil drain plug, put more oil and a new plug in, and told me to make sure I got my money back. I went in to the speedy today and they refused to reimburse me for anything (even with receipts), told me I had been jipped by the gentleman who fixed my car, and ordered me to leave.
