I've had five different vehicles serviced at this location through the years and I've never had an…read moreissue until this week. Monday, I drove up at 4:38 and asked for a state inspection. The mechanic tells me they stop doing inspections at 5:00 and there are two vehicles already checked in. Fair enough. I tell him I'll be back Tuesday. Tuesday at 1:15 I drove up and again asked for an inspection. The mechanic says they had a busy afternoon and he's about to leave for lunch. He tells me to come back in an hour. Fair enough. Everyone deserves a lunch break. I go back in an hour and one last time asked for an inspection. The mechanic tells me he's about to leave because he hasn't gone out to lunch yet. I asked him why he didn't just inspect my car when I was there before and his answer is "I didn't know I'd be staying". No sense of professionalism. No common courtesy. After years of doing business with this company all I got was apathy and attitude. Three different visits to this location in two days and I can't get a simple state inspection done. I will never bring any of my vehicles here again.

Also needed oil change. 1st visit: original complaint above and their recommendations were: Alignment $89.99; Brake fluid flush $76.90; Radiator plus hoses $406.49; engine air filter $32.96; cabin filter $43.94; valve cover & gasket $98.87; rear brake pads $85; resurface rear rotors $59; PCV valve $32.96 total after labor, taxes & hazmat $1761.71 and the thing still wobbles. 2nd visit for same problem: Front brakes $85; resurface front rotors $59; total after labor, taxes, & hazmat $250.88 ***Come to find out, they only test drove it on the street, & NOT on the highway like I stated in the original problem*** 3rd visit for same problem: NOW they test drive with me in the car, and see what I'm talking about. Now they tell me that ALL the rims are bent. Quote me $772.96 for new rims. Not doing it. I have been completely and utterly robbed of my ability to choose repairs needed for my situation. Family has 2 vehicles. I drive my son to & from school 13 miles one way everyday. Because they did not listen to me & test the car on the highway originally, I am going to have $200 more in gas costs a month since I will have to drive my truck & not the car. If they did it right the first time, I could have decided to wait on all the extra repairs above & beyond what my main issue was. Now, I don't have that option.

The customer service associate who shall remain anonymous left me shocked at their extremely poor customer service. Very short with their words and extremely unfriendly. I don't know if employees receive a formal customer care training but it may be advisable for Human Resources to consider a required training. I do not think that this situation is A-typical as my father received the same treatment from the same customer service associate on a previous service needed. This is just an FYI for anyone on the market looking for service to their vehicle. **Update** The service manager took good care of me for the rest of my transaction at Firestone. He gave me a lot of good information about my vehicle and he was very professional and knowledgeable. Because of the confidence I have in my "PAHCP," I felt comfortable taking my SUV to Lino's. My vehicle had been experiencing a shudder in the transmission -- a lack of smoothness when changing gears. Lino's checked it out and, rather than jumping straight to replacing the torque converter, suggested starting with a transmission fluid change and a high-quality additive. I had already done some online research and asked about a product called Shudder Fixx, but the mechanic explained that it can cause sludge buildup and recommended a better alternative. That's the route we took, and I noticed on the way home the shuddering has completely stopped. While inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic also noticed (and showed me a photo of) a damaged CV joint boot -- it had a hole that would soon cause the joint to lose lubricant and fail. I saw it for myself and agreed it needed replacement, so they handled that repair as well. Lino's is located on 29th Street in McAllen, just north of Business 83. Parking can be a little tight, as the lot is usually full of cars, but you can pull into the first gate and park where possible. After check-in, they'll move your vehicle as needed. The waiting area isn't fancy, but it's clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable, with a TV and remote available. Lino's prices are fair, and their service is honest and professional. I wanted reliable, and that's exactly what I got. I'm very happy with the service I received at Lino's Automatic Transmission and will definitely return if I need transmission work in the future.

But apparently there was a leak and my transmission fluid was nonexistent. I filled it up halfway and showed up at Lino's the next morning. They spent a couple of hours looking for the leak but couldn't find it. I was asked to drive my car around regularly for the rest of the day, and bring it back the next day. They did find the leak, fixed it, but were unable to explain why I hadn't ruined the car. The cost to fix the leak was small compared to the alternative of having to fix or replace the transmission. They recommended I drop by any morning in the next few weeks or so so they could check my car's transmission again. I'll be there. Whew! I trusted them and approved the repair. I was told the vehicle would be ready in one day, but that was not true. They delayed the job for five days, giving excuses and misinformation the entire time. After finally picking up my vehicle and paying, within 5 minutes of leaving the shop, my Yukon completely broke down. My wife was left stranded on the road just 2 miles away. I had to pay for a tow truck immediately. I have photos, videos, and records of everything. When I called the shop, they stopped answering. Once I finally got a response, their explanation was that there was "another leak" and now the transmission was damaged. Their solution? Charge me an additional $1,800 in labor for a problem that clearly happened right after their work -- and refuse any kind of warranty or responsibility. One of their mechanics, Ruben, even told me to "go cry to the owner" if I wanted help. That was their level of professionalism. This situation turned my working vehicle into a major breakdown within minutes of leaving their shop. I have all the proof and will be filing complaints with the BBB and taking legal action. I strongly warn anyone considering this location: be very careful. I would not want anyone else to go through what my family and I experienced.

Got oil change everything…read moreseemed good, went home getting ready for trip then I noticed oil leaking on my driveway‍ Drove back to take 5 on 29th and nolana and told them to check the bolt from pan I had checked underneath oil was leaked everywhere ,Manager on site said he had a rookie , still if he was manager should of overseen his work make sure it was correct‍ so anyways the other employee took care of it cleaned the area checked my oil make sure none missing. So my thing is if your gonna have new people, so called rookie well honestly it's managements job to oversee their work or shadow make sure all point of areas are taken care of.
