After…read moresearching and sending some mails I quickly learned this was going to be quite an expensive day UNTIL they told me about the Twilight Greenfee. 47,5 euro for 18 holes didn't sound too bad so off we went. From Lisbon city it's easy to get to by train (Cais do Sodre - Cascais) and then just take a taxi to the course. It only costed me like 6-10 euro's. The service is great, the taxi dropped me off at the driving range (wich is still a 15 minute walk from the first tee). The Driving range is expensive. You pay 5 euros for 50 balls. But when you're done you can ask for a transfer. They come and pick you up and just drop you of on the first tee. The bar on top of the clubhouse is super expensive! I paid 4,50 for a Fanta! The course itself was very nice, the greens were quite hard, it might be my game but I couldn't get a lot of spin on them. The Twilight greenfee is good when the sun is up for a normal amount of time but I think the further the off season goes the less likely you are to get 18 in.

The public can schedule tee time on-line but there is an option to purchase membership. Perhaps the owners will eventually limit public tee times as the course increases in popularity. The course is great and I foresee if becoming one of the top golf destinations in Europe. At the moment, there are no standing structures on the course to spoil your views of the ocean and surroundings (except for club house and lavatories hidden on the course). The developer is planning to build a community around the course, so I'm not sure of the impact to views. Lisboa marked the end of two weeks golfing in Sotogrande and Algarve. Since I would be in Lisboa I made arrangements to stay near West Cliffs and booked a tee time. Though only a hour from Lisboa, I would recommend making accommodations near the course. It is possible to drive from/to Lisboa to play West Cliffs but it can be exhausting (portion of the drive is on rural roads). The facilities are new and simple but the course made the trip worth the drive. Service is professional but basic. Players have an option of walking, buggy, or board. Most of the players walk which can slow down your round if you are not walking. For most of the holes you have a view of the ocean but I'm afraid once construction of homes pick up the course will loose some of its charm. Cynthia Dye did an amazing job designing each hole. Most of the holes requires a player to account for wind. Overall, a great course to play for single as well as mid handicappers. Of my two weeks playing golf in Southern Iberia, this is one of my favorite courses. It reminds me a lot of Cabot Links. I stayed here for a week for a business trip and was astounded by the grounds, the rooms, the food…read moreand the service. Located just a brief 10 min walk from the adorable Marina, it is centrally located with a gorgeous view of the water. There is always someone to open the door for you on your arrival and you're greeted with a gorgeous spacious entrance into the hotel. Service is great -- especially the cleaners for the room. They would visit my room twice a day to endure I had water, that my slippers with ready for me beside my bed, a little chocolate each night before bed... their attention to detail made me think they should train other teams in the world. The grounds are beautiful complete with a pool with a gorgeous water view, a highly rated fancy restaurant that won't break the bank, a good breakfast buffet, a state of the art gym, a spa, and very spacious rooms and bathrooms. This hotel was great for a work conference and they handled hundreds of people with ease. This is a great example of how a top tier hotel should be ran. Outstanding!

Not long after we checked in, we received little desserts waiting for us in our room. The bedding, the bathroom, the balcony views were absolutely spectacular. We truly loved the complimentary indoor spa, it was very relaxing. The restaurants also serve some amazing food and cocktails. For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us transportation from the airport; they even arranged private transportation to drop us off at our airbnb when we had to check out the next day. The transportation service was great and very informative, we wound up using them to take us to the Sintra one day during our trip. We unfortunately only stayed one night and I wish we stayed longer, my husband constantly talk about coming back here. Cascais is an absolute gem of a town and I highly suggest spending a night here if you are ever in the area.

Other adults went to the final formal wedding in afternoon and evening in Sintra, and I stayed to watch the children. They were on their best behavior and enjoyed pool, pool deck, beach, and room service for dinner. The breakfast each morning in the beautiful restaurant was fantastic. While this is definitely an "adult" hotel and not so geared to children, we made it work--and they behaved with good manners. The service is A-plus. Stunning views everywhere!

I engaged in a colossal waste of time simply trying to change my reservation at this hotel, only to learn its partner "Luxury Escapes" is somehow connected to third-party booking agent Expedia. This is not disclosed on "Luxury Escapes" website. Deceptive? The Albatroz staff throw their hands in the air and claim they cannot help you change a reservation. I decided not to re-book a future stay at this hotel based on this interaction. Beware-- if you book thru "Luxury Escapes" you may actually be dealing with a restrictive third-party agent, and this hotel will not help you unwind that.

Disappointed because of the prepaid breakfast option…read more Bought it for two days. Its an extra 20 Euros per person per night!. 40 Euros! Couldn't use it for the first day because we woke up too late for breakfast. Then when I asked T**** if he couldn't compensate or do something about the 40 Euros, T**** said there is nothing he could (or would) do. Maybe he could have asked me for my room number to confirm that we didn't eat breakfast. So, in the future, don't buy the breakfast option in advance. Based on T**** lack of interest in knowing my room number, it seems that you could probably just stroll in and eat. As a side note, the maid didn't refill my coffee and I had to ask for the regular, non-decaf coffee and for the two daily complimentary water bottles. On second thought, don't stay here. You are betting off staying in town instead of being held hostage in this remote, expensive, badly trained staff at this hotel.
