    Superior Double Room

What a great stay here! I'll never forget that I first learned about this hotel when it made some Top 'Best of' List on Tripadvisor early in the summer. I immediately booked a room as rates were reasonable and I figured I could not go wrong. I was not disappointed. It's really clear that customer service comes first and foremost for everyone here. It really is the standout. The rooms are spacious; I joked with my friend they do give a bit of a 'corporate' vibe (we have worked together in the past and could see these rooms similar to ones we used to stay in for corporate events/conventions)...but not in a bad way. Only call-out is the room did have a stronger perfumed scent, in case you're sensitive to that. And there was an elevator issue but was immediately corrected (and notice posted) when I flagged to the manager. I liked the location a lot - it was 1 of 3 hotels I stayed at on this Lisbon trip and this one was close to the water so great for sunset hour. At night, you can't beat Pink Street for some action, and the entire area does feel safe. And just a walk down the road is Time Out Market where you can get just about anything you want to eat/drink/take home with you. Also tons of sightseeing and shopping options are just a walk away. Highlights of my stay: *Free amenities including a lot (and I mean a lot!) of snacks. At all times in the lobby there is some sort of rotating snack offering (i.e. chips and salsa/guacamole one day), a spread of candy, pastries and savory treats in the middle display, self-serve ie cream, etc. Every day there is a wine and snack tasting, different each day of our stay. *Walking Tour: offered 2x a day (10:30am and 4pm), each one covering a different section. THIS was one of the absolute highlights for me I did not know this was an offering and it ended up being MUCH better than the one my friend and I had paid for just hours prior with a professional tour company. Sergio was a an absolute gem of a guide, starting by showing us the nooks and crannies of the hotel, then going on a wonderful walk including all the key sights and highlights...he also was generous enough to treat us a to a taste of Ginjinha when he saw our group clamoring around a stand. He politely declined tips which really surprised me as again, this was one of the best quality tours I have been on. Only wish I could have gone on another one at a different time. *Concierge service: always guided us in the right direction. Every single meal suggestion was spot-on. *Massage: they offer you 20 minutes free with your stay, which you can upgrade/extend. Khai, wow...was a master of manipulating my body to the point I felt so incredibly relaxed and rejuvenated. My friend also got hooked on this style, which to me reminded me of a combo Thai massage. She's still thinking about it. Finally, just the PERSONAL service. While staying here I felt like every single person there either knew me or got to know me. Too many to name here but special shout out to Bruno (who checked us in and guided our last dinner together), Sergio (my fave, from his personality to his tour!), Paolo, Gonzalo, and the Asian woman who I didn't catch her name but was so sweet (we shared a few laughs). What a memorable experience, and a reminder THIS is the the sort of hotel treatment when you get staff who cares.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and the staff at Corpo Santo made our stay so special that this was the best hotel experience we've ever had. They were so nice and accommodating and truly have top tier customer service. When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet but they invited us to change clothes, take a shower, hang out in their lounge or get complimentary soft serve, candy and/or water. We immediately felt at home. Their breakfast service was great and we also had late night snacks at their bar one night too. The accommodations themselves were comfortable--the bed, nightly turn down service and a nice shower. They even sent us up strawberries and champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. The location is perfect as it's walking distance to many spots we wanted to see.

It appears that it is traditional to not have clocks in hotels in Portugal. At first, we found this quite strange. But after spending the first day at Corpo Santo in Lisbon, it made perfect sense. The staff never want you to feel rushed or hurried. They want to serve your needs. They want you to be completely relaxed and cared for during your stay. Many hotels have 5 star locations or 5 star design/architecture, but few have 5 star service that feels warm and personal as Corpo Santo. We are a couple in our mid-50s. We have travelled extensively. Corpo Santo gave us some of the best service that we had ever experienced from a hotel. From the moment we were received upon our arrival on January 23rd by Pedro to the moment we departed on January 27th, the staff went out of their way to anticipate our needs and make sure that our time in Lisbon was special. We were in Lisbon to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We booked a Prestige Suite. We booked it about one week prior to our arrival. It was value priced lower than suites at other 5 star hotels in Lisbon. The room was quite large but amazingly quiet. With the blackout drapes closed, we slept completely undisturbed. The bed was firm but comfortable. The bathroom was large with an ample size soaking tub and walk in shower. The bathroom floor tile was a bit chilly in the morning, so the staff sent up a space heater to keep it warm for us. The hotel offers free historical city walks twice daily. We did the walking tour from the hotel to the Sao Jorge Castle with Victoria. She was friendly and informative. It was a great way to orient ourselves to the city upon our arrival. Our room came with a free "made to order" breakfast in the restaurant Porter each morning. There were also free wine and canapé tastings in the lobby each evening. There was always free ice cream and bottled water available in the lobby. If we came in late after the kitchen had closed, there were snacks available in the lobby between the hours of midnight and 7:00 am. On the day of our departure, we needed to leave before the breakfast service. When staff heard this, they insisted that the kitchen prepare us a picnic breakfast that we took on the road. The hotel has a modest spa. The amenities are pretty small and not separated by gender. So if you are uncomfortable with nudity under those conditions, you may want to pack a bathing suit. They were offing free 20 minute massages one time during our stay. We took them up on the offer. But it was so good, we paid for another 60 minutes of massage. The hotel restaurant - Porter - has a great bar program and lunch/dinner menu. We found it to be very reasonably priced and the food was well executed. The location of the hotel is perfect. Easy walking distance to many attractions, including Time Out Market and Pink Street. There is a major bus stop and trolley stop just outside the door. The Cais do Sodre train station is a 5 minute walk from the station. I cannot imagine a better hotel in Lisbon.

Wonderful hotel but a bit off the beaten path for a 5 star hotel where skate boarders are out in the front entrance from morning to evening We were offered to check in earlier but not without a fee Room category was supposed to have balcony but it didn't However, room was spacious and quiet with a pop up tv at end of bed Bed was comfy with great sheets, Molton brown toiletries Shower had light and sound effects Lobby always had free snacks and hot and cold drinks Loved the historic artifacts and displays on lower floor Free 20 min massage offered but the therapist were so good that we extended our session and the lead massage therapist adjusted my back and cured my pain from a bulging disc! Pedro Faocao the guest service ambassador gave us a walking tour and was an excellent guide Victoria the concierge was great pre arrival with recommendations and her responses via email The only negative that we encountered was the dining room where we had slow service and breakfast could have been more ample than what was offered They also used too much air freshener in hallways or carpeting

She was right! Insanely spacious, comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast, rooftop deck, restaurant upstairs. Beautiful common area on the mezzanine level to enjoy a coffee and pastry taking a respite during the afternoon between seeing the city. All in all, Bairro Alto was great! Walked from here to two Michelin two starred restaurants, an amazing pizza place, walking tour of the city, the world's best chocolate cake, and so much more. There is really everything right here you would want. Keep in mind it's a classic boutique hotel. That means small and narrow elevators. So sometimes you just have to be a little patient. Come for the friendly service, amazing location, comfortable beds, beautiful rooms, and know that this is a great place to stay in the heart of Lisbon. Highly recommend. Tip: If you are staying over the weekend, get a floor as high as you can and/or have a sound machine if you want to sleep well because the street noise is loud with people out and about on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Hotel staff knows when you enter and exit the Hotel. During our stay, we kept our money locked in the safe. Before we checked out, we packed our bags and put our money in our luggage. We then put up the "Do Not Disturb" sign and went for a half hour walk. The Hotel staff observed us leave at that time. While we were out, Hotel staff entered our room without permission and stole our money. We know we had the money, because we had just counted it for a tour in Porto the next day. After the theft, the Lisboa Carmo Hotel Management lied to us and tried to cover-up the crime. When I first called the Hotel, the Hotel staff person Louise Silva told me that they had cameras and that I should call back the next day to speak with Hotel management to have the video reviewed to solve the crime. The next day, I spoke with Assistant Hotel Manager Rafael, who told me that the Security Manager could review the video on Monday to see who wrongfully entered our room. However, the next day, the Hotel Manager Richardo Salvador sent me an email refusing to produce the video and threatened to sue me. That was so offensive. It seems clear that Richardo Salvador was lying and covering up the theft. His refusal to produce the video is proof that Hotel staff stole our money. My recommendation is there are lots of good hotels in Lisbon. So, stay away from the Lisboa Carmo Hotel!

The hotel's position is in the heart of Alto Barrio, conveniently located for all the main sights. It's right across the square from Carmo Convent, which our room had a fantastic view of. If you want to venture further, it's also just a few streets from an underground stop (Baixa Chiado). Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, all speaking perfect English. The rooms were delightful and spotless and had a fantastic shower. The hotel was quiet when we were there (it was off season) so they gave us a free room upgrade too.
